La méthode a été appliquée de façon incrémentielle à la conception d'une assistance à la régulation longitudinale auto-adaptative à travers trois études sur simulateur de conduite: sans système d'aide puis avec un système d'aide non adaptatif et enfin avec un système auto-adaptatif. La méthode, incluant à chaque étape l'analyse des performances de conduite et des interviews du conducteur, a permis d'une part de définir les critères d'auto-adaptabilité à mettre en œuvre, et d'autre part de mettre au point puis d'évaluer le système de régulation longitudinale auto-adaptatif

Le but de la thèse est de prouver la faisabilité des applications coopératives avec le matériel de communication existant et d'étudier l'apport de cettetechnologie dans la prévention des collisions.Nous proposons une architecture de communication sans fil basée sur la norme 802.11 et nous étudionsà travers des campagnes de test l'adéquation avec les exigences des applications coopératives.Sur la base de cette architecture, nous avons expérimenté notre système dans deux types d'applications :- La prévention de risque à l'approche d'une intersection- L'assistance lors d'un changement de voiePour chacun de ces deux scénarios, nous avons mis en application un système de prédictionet de prévention de risque de collision entre les véhicules à travers des tests réels sur laplateforme expérimentale de véhicules intelligents LaRA.

Book excerpt: Cette thèse apporte une contribution au domaine du diagnostic au travers d'un module de détection et quantification de situations de conduites critiques fonctionnant en temps réel, et appliqué au véhicule automobile. Le système est rapide mais l'évaluation doit se faire en temps réel. Le véhicule est peu instrumenté afin de pouvoir prétendre à une future commercialisation. La redondance est donc analytique. Nous avons modélisé le taux de sous-virage en fonction de l'accélération transversale. Ce modèle est un modèle boîte grise, dont certains paramètres sont liés à la qualité de la route, et dont la variation n'est pas significative de défaut au sens «modification du comportement dynamique». Il faut donc estimer en permanence ces paramètres afin de préserver l'exactitude du modèle. Nous avons utilisé pour cela une variante de la méthode des moindres carrés récursifs pondérés, avec facteur d'oubli. Il s'agissait de s'affranchir des problèmes numériques, dus à des périodes d'excitation insuffisante, qui correspondaient pour nous à des périodes de conduite en ligne droite. Les sauts de moyenne du résidu issu du modèle sont détectés par des tests statistiques dont le test de Wald et un test de Bayes à fenêtre glissante. La quantification de la criticité se fait grâce à un système d'inférence flou, de manière à agréger un certain nombre d'informations tout en utilisant la connaissance empirique du système pour élaborer la base de règles. Une structure particulière en étage a été utilisée afin de ne traiter que des systèmes tridimensionnels, visualisables. En dernier lieu, nous avons étudié la corrélation objective entre la sensation de «progressivité au lâcher de pied» et la mesure objective de certaines valeurs physiques. L'utilisation de l'analyse en principaux composants semble montrer une corrélation entre le classement subjectif des essayeurs et la dispersion des points dans l'espace des PCA, qui demande à être confirmée statistiquement.

Après avoir examiné les concepts associés à la spécificité des systèmes embarqués automobile, nous mettrons en avant la nécessité d'adopter un modèle permettant d'analyser le domaine d'activité du conducteur pour définir les spécifications préliminaires de conception et d'évaluation du système en relation au contexte d'utilisation. Fondé sur cette analyse, nous détaillerons ensuite le processus de conception que nous avons voulu centré sur l'utilisateur et la modélisation multi-agents utilisée pour définir l'intéraction et l'interface homme-machine. Suite à la description du système, nous présenterons trois expériences mises en place dans ce travail: pour valider nos choix de conception, pour analyser les gains de consommation en carburant associés au changement d'activité des conducteurs sur route réelle et enfin pour regarder l'impact du système sur la conscience de la situation du conducteur. L'analyse des résultats nous permettra de conclure sur le potentiel et l'apport du système par rapport à la formation et d'envisager les futures perspectives en terme de développement de systèmes d'aide à la conduite économe et plus généralement sur la conception des systèmes embarqués dans le domaine automobile.

To be less controlled by others, we learn how emotional systems influence our relationship-oriented brain. People want to know what goes on in families that give rise to amazing leaders and/or terrorists. For the first time in history we can understand the systems in which we live. The social sciences have been accumulating knowledge since the early fifties as to how we are regulated by others. S. Milgram, S. Ashe, P. Zimbardo and J. Calhoun, detail the vulnerability to being duped and deceived and the difficulty of cooperating when values differ. Murray Bowen, M.D., the first researcher to observe several live-in families, for up to three years, at the National Institute of Mental Health. Describing how family members overly influence one another and distribute stress unevenly, Bowen described both how symptoms and family leaders emerge in highly stressed families. Our brain is not organized to automatically perceive that each family has an emotional system, fine-tuned by evolution and "valuing" its survival as a whole, as much as the survival of any individual. It is easier to see this emotional system function in ants or mice but not in humans. The emotional system is organized to snooker us humans: encouraging us to take sides, run away from others, to pressure others, to get sick, to blame others, and to have great difficulty in seeing our part in problems. It is hard to see that we become anxious, stressed out and even that we are difficult to deal with. But "thinking systems" can open the doors of perception, allowing us to experience the world in a different way. This book offers both coaching ideas and stories from leaders as to strategies to break out from social control by de-triangling, using paradoxes, reversals and other types of interruptions of highly linked emotional processes. Time is needed to think clearly about the automatic nature of the two against one triangle. Time and experience is required as we learn strategies to put two people together and get self outside the control of the system. In addition, it takes time to clarify and define one's principles, to know what "I" will or will not do and to be able to take a stand with others with whom we are very involved. The good news is that systems' thinking is possible for anyone. It is always possible for an individual to understand feelings and to integrate them with their more rational brains. In so doing, an individual increases his or her ability to communicate despite misunderstandings or even rejection from important others. The effort involved in creating your Mindful Compass enables us to perceive the relationship system without experiencing it's threats. The four points on the Mindful Compass are: 1) Action for Self, 2) Resistance to Forward Progress, 3) Knowledge of Social Systems and the 4) The Ability to Stand Alone. Each gives us a view of the process one enters when making an effort to define a self and build an emotional backbone. It is not easy to find our way through the social jungle. The ability to know emotional systems well enough to take a position for self and to become more differentiated is part of the natural way humans cope with pressure. Now people can use available knowledge to build an emotional backbone, by thoughtfully altering their part in the relationship system. No one knows how far one can go by making an effort to be more of a self-defined individual in relationships to others. Through increasing emotional maturity, we can find greater individual freedom at the same time that we increase our ability to cooperate and to be close to others.
