Book Synopsis CRC Handbook of Electrical Filters by : John Taylor
Download or read book CRC Handbook of Electrical Filters written by John Taylor and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-11-25 with total page 448 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Interest in filter theory and design has been growing with the telecommunications industry since the late nineteenth century. Now that telecommunications has become so critical to industry, filter research has assumed even greater importance at companies and academic institutions around the world. The CRC Handbook of Electrical Filters fills in the gaps for engineers and scientists who need a basic introduction to the subject. Unlike the currently available textbooks, which are filled with detailed, highly technical analysis geared to the specialist, this practical guide provides useful information for the non-specialist about the various types of filters, their design, and applications. The handbook covers approximation theory and methods and introduces CAD packages that perform approximation and synthesis for both analog and digital filters. Also included are design methods for LCR, active-RC, digital, mechanical, and switched capacitor (SC) filters. A thorough survey of current design trends rounds out this complete assessment of a key field of study.

Book Synopsis Microwave Filters for Communication Systems by : Richard J. Cameron
Download or read book Microwave Filters for Communication Systems written by Richard J. Cameron and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2018-04-17 with total page 928 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An in-depth look at the state-of-the-art in microwave filter design, implementation, and optimization Thoroughly revised and expanded, this second edition of the popular reference addresses the many important advances that have taken place in the field since the publication of the first edition and includes new chapters on Multiband Filters, Tunable Filters and a chapter devoted to Practical Considerations and Examples. One of the chief constraints in the evolution of wireless communication systems is the scarcity of the available frequency spectrum, thus making frequency spectrum a primary resource to be judiciously shared and optimally utilized. This fundamental limitation, along with atmospheric conditions and interference have long been drivers of intense research and development in the fields of signal processing and filter networks, the two technologies that govern the information capacity of a given frequency spectrum. Written by distinguished experts with a combined century of industrial and academic experience in the field, Microwave Filters for Communication Systems: Provides a coherent, accessible description of system requirements and constraints for microwave filters Covers fundamental considerations in the theory and design of microwave filters and the use of EM techniques to analyze and optimize filter structures Chapters on Multiband Filters and Tunable Filters address the new markets emerging for wireless communication systems and flexible satellite payloads and A chapter devoted to real-world examples and exercises that allow readers to test and fine-tune their grasp of the material covered in various chapters, in effect it provides the roadmap to develop a software laboratory, to analyze, design, and perform system level tradeoffs including EM based tolerance and sensitivity analysis for microwave filters and multiplexers for practical applications. Microwave Filters for Communication Systems provides students and practitioners alike with a solid grounding in the theoretical underpinnings of practical microwave filter and its physical realization using state-of-the-art EM-based techniques.

Book Synopsis Microstrip Filters for RF / Microwave Applications by : Jia-Sheng Hong
Download or read book Microstrip Filters for RF / Microwave Applications written by Jia-Sheng Hong and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-01-06 with total page 608 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first edition of “Microstrip Filters for RF/Microwave Applications” was published in 2001. Over the years the book has been well received and is used extensively in both academia and industry by microwave researchers and engineers. From its inception as a manuscript the book is almost 8 years old. While the fundamentals of filter circuits have not changed, further innovations in filter realizations and other applications have occurred with changes in the technology and use of new fabrication processes, such as the recent advances in RF MEMS and ferroelectric films for tunable filters; the use of liquid crystal polymer (LCP) substrates for multilayer circuits, as well as the new filters for dual-band, multi-band and ultra wideband (UWB) applications. Although the microstrip filter remains as the main transmission line medium for these new developments, there has been a new trend of using combined planar transmission line structures such as co-planar waveguide (CPW) and slotted ground structures for novel physical implementations beyond the single layer in order to achieve filter miniaturization and better performance. Also, over the years, practitioners have suggested topics that should be added for completeness, or deleted in some cases, as they were not very useful in practice. In view of the above, the authors are proposing a revised version of the “Microstrip Filters for RF/Microwave Applications” text and a slightly changed book title of “Planar Filters for RF/Microwave Applications” to reflect the aforementioned trends in the revised book.

Book Synopsis Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences by : Wade H. Shafer
Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by Wade H. Shafer and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-21 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis· seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) *at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac· tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 20 (thesis year 1975) a total of 10,374 theses titles from 28 Canadian and 239 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. The organization of Volume 20 is identical to that of past years. It consists of theses titles arranged by discipline and by university within each discipline.
