Book Synopsis Quantum Leadership by : Frederick Chavalit Tsao
Download or read book Quantum Leadership written by Frederick Chavalit Tsao and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 2019-07-30 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this new book, Frederick Chavalit Tsao and Chris Laszlo argue that current approaches to leadership fail to produce positive outcomes for either businesses or the communities they serve. Employee disengagement and customer fickleness remain high, resulting in a lack of creativity and collaboration at all levels of entrepreneurial activity. Investor demand for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) continues to be poorly integrated into profit strategies. Drawing on extensive research, this book shows how changing a person's consciousness is the most powerful lever for unlocking his or her leadership potential to create wealth and serve humankind. A wide range of practices of connectedness provide the keys. The journey to higher consciousness changes people at a deep intuitive level, combining embodied experience with analytic-cognitive skill development. Tsao and Laszlo show how leaders who pursue this journey are more likely to flourish with significant benefits to both business and society. These include greater creativity and collaboration along with an increased capability to inspire people and produce lasting change. Readers will come away with a deep understanding of quantum leadership and the day-to-day practices that can help them achieve greater effectiveness and wellbeing at work.

Book Synopsis Proceedings of the 2023 2nd International Conference on Economics, Smart Finance and Contemporary Trade (ESFCT 2023) by : Faruk Balli
Download or read book Proceedings of the 2023 2nd International Conference on Economics, Smart Finance and Contemporary Trade (ESFCT 2023) written by Faruk Balli and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-11-11 with total page 479 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is an open access book. The relationship between international trade and economic development is mutual: foreign trade is the driving force of economic growth, and higher export level means that a country has the means to improve its import level. The growth of exports also tends to change the investment fields of the countries concerned. Exports make a country gain the benefits of economies of scale, and competition in the world market will put pressure on a country's export industry, A growing export sector will also encourage domestic and foreign investment. The concept of financial development actually means that the financial structure has changed to a certain extent. This change is not only the change of time, but also the change of internal transaction flow. International trade is known as the driving force of the development of human science and technology, and has created countless employment opportunities worldwide. It is also international trade that has led to the formation of industrial division worldwide. International trade, from its name, can be seen as trade between different countries, and the financial development level of a country will have a direct impact on the trend of international trade, so the purchasing power will be stronger. In this case, more countries are willing to increase import and export trade, which can not only increase their income, but also increase the relationship between countries. The 2nd International Academic Conference on Economics, Smart Finance, and Contemporary Trade (ESFCT 2023) will be held on July 28–30, 2023 in Dali, China. The purpose of ESFCT 2023 is to explore the relationship between economy, smart finance and contemporary trade. Experts and scholars in relevant fields are welcome to participate in ESFCT 2023.

Download or read book Education Networks written by Joel Spring and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012-03-22 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Education Networks is a critical analysis of the emerging intersection among the global power elite, information and communication technology, and schools. Joel Spring documents and examines the economic and political interests and forces —including elite networks, the for-profit education industry, data managers, and professional educators — that are pushing the use of ICT for online instruction, test preparation and tutoring, data management, instructional software packages, and more , and looks closely at the impact this is having on schools, students, and learning. Making a distinction between "mind" (as socially constructed) and "brain" (as a physiological entity), Spring draws on recent findings from comparative psychology on the possible effects of ICT on the social construction of the minds of students and school managers, and from neuroscience regarding its effect on students’ brains. Throughout, the influence of elite networks and powerful interest groups is linked to what is happening to children in classrooms. In conclusion Spring offers bold suggestions to change the course of the looming technological triumph of ICT in the "brave new world" of schooling.

Download or read book Deep Inequality written by Earl Wysong and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2017-11-17 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Forbes reports that the richest 1 percent of the world’s population owns nearly half the world’s wealth, and the gap between the richest and poorest of the world only continues to increase. Deep Inequality looks behind these stark statistics to understand not only wealth inequality but also rising disparities in other elements of life—from education to the media. The authors argue that inequality has become so pervasive that it is the new normal. When we do recognize troubling inequality, we look at individual or small-scale problems without understanding the broader structural issues that shape the economy, the global political system, and more. Only by understanding the structural forces at play can we recognize the deep divisions in our society and work for meaningful change. Deep Inequality explains the changing landscape of inequality to help readers see society in a new way.

Book Synopsis China’s Assistance Program in Xinjiang by : Yuhui Li
Download or read book China’s Assistance Program in Xinjiang written by Yuhui Li and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2018-08-15 with total page 179 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: China’s Assistance Program in Xinjiang: A Sociological Analysis examines the partnership assistance program (PAP) in Xinjiang of northwestern China, which was initially implemented by the Chinese government during the 1990s. It was dramatically upgraded in 2010 following the 2009 riot in Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang. The program requires that a total of nineteen provinces and municipalities from coastal and central regions of China provide a huge amount of financial, material, technical, human capital, and other resources and aid to Xinjiang for at least ten years (2010–2020). This most recent version of the PAP has generated drastic social, demographic, economic, and environmental changes in the region. Yuhui Li looks at changes in Xinjiang in recent years as a result of the PAP implementation. Xinjiang has become increasingly more industrialized, modernized, and urbanized, and is thus essential in helping the country realize the “China dream.” However, the heavily interventional PAP could bring about unexpected consequences. For example, it could potentially aggravate the already tense racial relations in the region.
