Book excerpt: Legal Analysis ON the silent features (the major aspect) of the Ethiopian law of sales in context of CISG, UNIDROIT principle, and PECL. In cases where CISG is applied by the Ethiopian courts, UNIDROIT Principles can be used in order to supplement the CISG. Moreover, just as CISG can be applied when it is chosen by the contracting parties in Ethiopia, UNIDROIT Principles can also be applied. The other possibility for the application of CISG and UNIDROIT Principles is as an expression of lex mercatoria by arbitral tribunals in Ethiopia. Pursuant to Article 1713 of the Ethiopian civil code, which provides that contracting parties are bound not only by the express provisions of their agreement but also by such incidental effects as may be attached to it considering trade usage, custom and good faith, CISG and UNIDROIT ,PECL can be referred to. Determining what practices are considered trade custom and usage may beg, for a very strong reason, giving attention to such documents. The CISG and UNIDROIT Principles may be applied as a draft for contracts. This involves incorporating part or all of the provisions into their contract. Obviously, here the court applies the provisions as it applies the terms of the contract. “This is not exactly a choice of law clause unless the parties chose the law of a Contracting State, having the state’s implementation of the CISG in mind. Instead it is to be viewed as a drafting technique which uses the provisions of the CISG as a kind of model contract”. Generally, an international contract occurs when a contract involving parties which have business place in different countries are involved or different national in deferent place or the same national in different place. In such case the parties might apply a law of their choice provided that their choice is sustainable at law. In the absence of such choice certain international documents like CISG and the supplementing document of UNIDROIT,PECL can be applied upon the fulfillment of certain conditions as per the general provision of these instrument itself. The conditions relate to when rules of conflict of law orders the application of these documents, when there is lex mercatoria or trade usage; and when the parties agree on the application of CISG.

As an attack on all humanity, Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, has challenged the fitness of the global order as never before, and its institutional and normative frameworks have been found wanting. As is often the case in such circumstances, when the WHO is denied resources to assist those countries or the WTO is unable to guarantee access to Covid-19 medical supplies and protective equipment, it is the poorest nations that suffer the most. EtYIL’s mission is to provide a platform for purpose-oriented scholarly analysis and debate on issues of particular significance for African countries such as Covid-19, disputes over Nile water resources, and Ethiopia-Eritrea relations. Although the pandemic came too late for this issue of EtYIL, we have managed to include two important articles that examine the subject from geostrategic and legal perspectives. EtYIL 2019 also addresses a number of other topical issues, including the responsibility of the UN Security Council (UNSC) in climate-related risks to least developed countries, the Global South’s approach to environmental protection, the challenges of international regulation of arms brokering, and the contributions of Martin Luther King, Jr. to Pan-Africanism and international human rights law. Later, R.H. Charles made another translation using some Greek excerpts, and more Ethiopian texts. Then recently, Michael A Knibb, using many texts, and partial texts, put together an ?adequate' translation. Yet, all of these translations are rough, obscure, and confusing to Christians of today. The Dead Sea Scrolls contained many copies and partial copies of the Book of Enoch, In the Dead Sea scrolls, there were found 17 copies. Comparitively, there were 30 copies of Psalms, 25 copies of Deuteronomy, 19 of Isaiah, 15 of Genesis and Exodus, 14 Of Jubilees. Jude validated The Book Of Enoch with his quote from it. Using all of the sources now available, along with an in-depth study of book, I have prepared this paraphrase/translation. Along with such, I have included an commentary to help in its comparison with the Bible. John D. Ladd was raised the son of an Assemblies of God pastor. He attended Northeast Bible College, in Pennsylvania, and later, Malone College, in Canton, Ohio. He pastored for many years, was ordained in the Assemblies of God, but later left to pastor independent churches. Preferring teaching to preaching, he has spent many years studying, reading books from the early church period, and translating\paraphrasing them for ease of use by Christians of today. This book of Enoch's has been translated, paraphrased, and now is being given commentary, to compare it with the Bible's message, to test it by the Word of God. How does it compare? Is it in agreement with the message and prophetic teachings of the Bible?
