Néanmoins ces nouvelles propulsions doivent garantir les mêmes performances et le même niveau de sureté de fonctionnement (fiabilité et sécurité en l'occurrence). La chaîne de propulsion électrique est conçue autour d'un nombre important de constituants (machine électrique, capteur(s), convertisseur(s) de l'électronique de puissance, etc.) qui peuvent être le siège de défauts. La détection et la localisation de ces défauts sont indispensables mais pas suffisantes pour assurer la sureté de fonctionnement du système. En effet pour assurer un fonctionnement en mode dégradé, il faut mettre en œuvre une architecture de commande tolérante aux fautes. L'objectif principal de cette thèse est de proposer des nouvelles architectures de commande tolérante aux défauts (Fault Tolerant Control en anglais) d'un véhicule électrique propulsé par une machine asynchrone, en présence de plusieurs types de défaut du capteur mécanique. Cette thèse est organisée en 4 chapitres.Le Chapitre 1 est un état de l'art exhaustif avec une analyse critique des architectures et des systèmes de contrôle commande tolérants aux fautes des chaînes de traction électrique ainsi qu'un état de l'art des différents défauts qui peuvent apparaitre dans la chaine de traction électrique. Le Chapitre 2 propose deux architectures de commande tolérante aux fautes : l'Hybride FTC et le GIMC (Generalised Internal Model Control) ; l'approche Hybride FTC est une combinaison de deux contrôleurs, le premier est un régulateur PI pour le mode sain et le second un correcteur robuste H infini pour le mode défaillant. L'architecture GIMC permet la restructuration de la loi de commande d'une manière adaptative. Elle est conçue afin d'assurer une bonne robustesse du système en présence de défaut grâce à une boucle interne faisant office de boucle de correction et de diagnostic.Le Chapitre 3 est consacré exclusivement à la commande tolérante aux fautes à base d'algorithme de vote, en faisant une étude comparative de 4 algorithmes avec trois topologies différentes : une première structure est proposée sur la sortie du système, une deuxième structure est appliquée sur la commande du système, et la troisième structure est une hybridation des deux précédentes.Le Chapitre 4 est dédié à la validation expérimentale des architectures décrites précédemment. Les résultats obtenus montrent l'efficacité des approches FTC proposées.

Dans ces véhicules, les machines électriques utilisées sont des machines conventionnelles asynchrones et synchrones à aimants permanents. La machine à réluctance variable est une technologie candidate potentielle pour les chaînes de traction électriques et hybrides. Cette machine conçue sans aimants et redondante peut réunir la robustesse et le faible coût de la machine asynchrone aux bonnes performances de la machine synchrone à aimants permanents. Dans ce contexte, le premier objectif de cette thèse est de proposer des stratégies de commandes robustes de la machine à réluctance variable par la prise en compte des contraintes des chaînes de traction électriques en vue de réaliser une étude comparative des performances. Dans cette étude, les commandes proposées sont les commandes classiques de type PI, les commandes par mode glissant et les commandes par mode glissant d'ordre supérieur. Le deuxième objectif consiste à développer des observateurs d'état pour la commande sans capteur de position mécanique de la machine à réluctance variable. Des observateurs robustes basés sur la théorie du filtre de Kalman étendu et les modes glissants sont synthétisés pour atteindre cet objectif. Enfin, le troisième objectif est de faire une analyse des défauts électriques de type circuit ouvert de l'étage électronique de puissance par l'approche signal afin de développer une méthodologie de détection et de localisation automatique de ces défauts.

Cette synthèse est basée sur l’approche multimodèle avec la formulation et la résolution des problèmes d’optimisation en utilisant les techniques LMI. La première partie est consacrée à la FTC passive : trois approches ont été proposées. La première concerne la synthèse d’une loi de commande multimodèle par retour d’état reconstruit. Les incertitudes dues aux erreurs de modélisation et aux variations paramétriques sont prises en compte. Les conditions de stabilité sont données sous forme Inégalités Matricielles Bilinéaires (BMI) avec la proposition d’un algorithme de résolution en deux étapes. La seconde approche traite la conception d’une loi de commande basée sur observateur avec le rejet des perturbations extérieures. Les conditions de stabilité sont données sous forme Inégalités Matricielles Linéaires (LMI). Ces deux approches ont été appliquées pour le contrôle de la dynamique latérale du véhicule automobile. La variation de l’état de la chaussée et la non disponibilité de la mesure de l’angle de glissement latéral du véhicule sont considérés. La troisième approche proposée est une loi de commande adaptative à mode glissant en vue du contrôle du taux de glissement longitudinal lors de l’opération de freinage d’un véhicule automobile. Cette loi de commande a été validée par une application réelle sur un prototype du système de freinage et d’anti-blocage ABS. La deuxième partie de notre travail a concerné la FTC active en s’appuyant sur les résultats développés dans la partie précédente. Trois stratégies de commandes actives tolérantes aux défauts capteurs ont été proposées. Elles ont été appliquées pour le contrôle de la dynamique latérale du véhicule automobile.

Tribology, from the greek for study of rubbing, is the discipline that concerns itself with friction, wear and lubrication. Tribology spans a great range of disciplines, from surface physics to lubrication chemistry and engineering, and comprises investigators in diverse specialities. The English language tribology literature now grows at a rate of some 700 articles per year. But for all of this activity, in the three years that I have been concerned with the control of machines with friction, I have but once met a fellow controls engineer who was aware that the field existed, this including many who were concerned with friction. In this vein I must confess that, before undertaking these investigations, I too was unaware that an active discipline of friction existed. The experience stands out as a mark of the specialization of our time. Within tribology, experimental and theoretical understanding of friction in lubricated machines is well developed. The controls engineer's interest is in dynamics, which is not the central interest of the tribologist. The tribologist is more often concerned with wear, with respect to which there has been enormous progress - witness the many mechanisms which we buy today that are lubricated once only, and that at the factory. Though a secondary interest, frictional dynamics are note forgotten by tribology.
