Download or read book Plasticity Theory written by Jacob Lubliner and published by Courier Corporation. This book was released on 2013-04-22 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of Plasticity Theory is to provide a comprehensive introduction to the contemporary state of knowledge in basic plasticity theory and to its applications. It treats several areas not commonly found between the covers of a single book: the physics of plasticity, constitutive theory, dynamic plasticity, large-deformation plasticity, and numerical methods, in addition to a representative survey of problems treated by classical methods, such as elastic-plastic problems, plane plastic flow, and limit analysis; the problem discussed come from areas of interest to mechanical, structural, and geotechnical engineers, metallurgists and others. The necessary mathematics and basic mechanics and thermodynamics are covered in an introductory chapter, making the book a self-contained text suitable for advanced undergraduates and graduate students, as well as a reference for practitioners of solid mechanics.

Book Synopsis Continuum Theory of Plasticity by : Akhtar S. Khan
Download or read book Continuum Theory of Plasticity written by Akhtar S. Khan and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1995-02-28 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The only modern, up-to-date introduction to plasticity Despite phenomenal progress in plasticity research over the past fifty years, introductory books on plasticity have changed very little. To meet the need for an up-to-date introduction to the field, Akhtar S. Khan and Sujian Huang have written Continuum Theory of Plasticity--a truly modern text which offers a continuum mechanics approach as well as a lucid presentation of the essential classical contributions. The early chapters give the reader a review of elementary concepts of plasticity, the necessary background material on continuum mechanics, and a discussion of the classical theory of plasticity. Recent developments in the field are then explored in sections on the Mroz Multisurface model, the Dafalias and Popov Two Surface model, the non-linear kinematic hardening model, the endochronic theory of plasticity, and numerous topics in finite deformation plasticity theory and strain space formulation for plastic deformation. Final chapters introduce the fundamentals of the micromechanics of plastic deformation and the analytical coupling between deformation of individual crystals and macroscopic material response of the polycrystal aggregate. For graduate students and researchers in engineering mechanics, mechanical, civil, and aerospace engineering, Continuum Theory of Plasticity offers a modern, comprehensive introduction to the entire subject of plasticity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook gives a concise survey of constitutive and structural modeling for high temperature creep, damage, low – cycle fatigue and other inelastic conditions. The book shows the creep and continuum damage mechanics as rapidly developing discipline which interlinks the material science foundations, the constitutive modeling and computer simulation application to analysis and design of simple engineering components. It is addressed to young researchers and scientists working in the field of mechanics of inelastic, time-dependent materials and structures, as well as to PhD students in computational mechanics, material sciences, mechanical and civil engineering.

Book Synopsis Strength of Materials by : A. A. Ilyushin
Download or read book Strength of Materials written by A. A. Ilyushin and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 453 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Strength of Materials focuses on the resistance or strength of materials, which is described as the study of solid bodies under the action of external forces under working conditions, and of their resistance to deformation and failure. This book discusses problems on the equilibrium and stability of simple structural elements under elastic and elastic-plastic deformation, including the plastic flow of materials under pressure; creep and dynamic resistance of materials; vibrations and propagation of elastic and plastic waves; and effect of temperature, rate of deformation, and radiation on the strength and plasticity of materials. A description of the experimental techniques used in investigating the mechanical properties of materials is also outlined in this text. This publication is a good material in training research specialists in universities and technical institutes regarding the mechanics of solid deformable bodies.
Book Synopsis Creep in Structures by : Michal Zyczkowski
Download or read book Creep in Structures written by Michal Zyczkowski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-08 with total page 714 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is a tradition to organize IUTAM Symposia "Creep in Structures" every ten years: the first Symposium was organized by N.J. Hoff in Stan ford (1960), the second one by J. Hult in Goteborg (1970), and the third one by A.R.S. Ponter in Leicester (1980). The fourth Symposium in Cracow, September 1990, gathered 123 par ticipants from 21 countries and reflected rapid development of the theory, experimental research and structural applications of creep and viscoplas ticity, including damage and rupture. Indeed, the scope of the Sympo sium was broad, maybe even too broad, but it was kept according to the tradition. Probably the chairman of "Creep in Structures V" in the year 2000 (if organized at all) will be forced to confine the scope substantially. Participation in the Symposium was reserved for invited participants, suggested by members of the Scientific Committee. Total number of sug gestions was very large and the response - unexpectedly high. Apart from several papers rejected, as being out of scope, over 100 papers were accepted for presentation. A somewhat unconventional way of presenta tion was introduced to provide ample time for fruitful and well prepared discussions: besides general lectures (30 minutes each), all the remain ing papers were presented as short introductory lectures (10 minutes) followed by a I-hour poster discussion with the authors and then by a general discussion. Such an approach made it possible to present general ideas orally, and then to discuss all the papers through and through.
