Book excerpt: Ellet Joseph Waggoner (1855 – 1916) was a leading Seventh-day Adventist preacher and writer. In his famous book Christ and His Righteousness, he writes, "Christ has been set forth by God as the One through whom forgiveness of sins is to be obtained; and this forgiveness consists simply in the declaration of His righteousness (which is the righteousness of God) for their remission. God, “who is rich in mercy” (Eph. 2:4), and who delights in it, puts His own righteousness on the sinner who believes in Jesus, as a substitute for his sins. Surely, this is a profitable exchange for the sinner, and it is no loss to God, for He is infinite in holiness, and the supply can never be diminished." Chapters include: 1. How Shall We Consider Christ? 2. Is Christ God? 3. Is Christ a Created Being? 4. God Manifest in the Flesh 5. Important Practical Lessons 6. Christ the Lawgiver 7. The Righteousness of God 8. The Lord Our Righteousness 9. Acceptance With God 10. The Victory of Faith 11. Bond-Servants and Freemen 12. Practical Illustrations of Deliverance From Bondage

The Bible defines Christians as those who live lives patterned after Christ. But what exactly is that life? The Bible admonishes the believer to live, "Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." --Hebrews 7:2 The 1937 fourth quarter Sabbath School Lesson on the Sanctuary is included as an appendix.

There is no better time than now to learn about and become firmly grounded within your spiritual heritage." —from the foreword by Perry Stone The early church was made up of Jewish and Gentile followers of Jesus, and the church's culture was rooted in Judaism and a Jewish understanding of God's relationship to His people. Over time, however, Christianity became increasingly more Roman than Jewish, and the church lost its identity. Rabbi Curt Landry's personal story is remarkably similar. Born to a Jewish mother and a Catholic father, Landry was put up for adoption, and for more than thirty years he had no understanding of his heritage, his roots, or who his parents were. But when he discovered the truth of his story, his life changed completely. The key to a life of power and purpose is understanding who you are. In this revelatory book, Curt Landry helps Christians discover their roots in Judaism, empowering them to walk in the revelation of who they really are and who they are born to be. Reclaiming Our Forgotten Heritage reveals the mysteries of the church, letting Christians grasp the power that comes from connecting with their true identity.

Book excerpt: The loud cry of the third angel of Revelation 14:9 is the last message according to the book of Revelation. There will be no greater message sent from God than this precious truth-the message of Christ our righteousness. According to Revelation 18:1, this final message will lighten the earth with the glory (character) of God, bringing to a close God's final work upon the earth. This book presents a solid foundation for the various aspects of Christ our righteousness, comparing popular teachings on the subject with the Bible and the writings of Ellen G. White. It points out the importance of incorporating these principles into our own experience. When God's people truly take hold of this most encouraging and hopeful message, it will lead to genuine revival and reformation. Then God will pour out His Spirit and enable us to proclaim the Loud Cry of the Third Angel.

Book excerpt: In this important study Hays argues against the mainstream that any attempt to account for the nature and method of Paul's theological language must first reckon with the centrality of narrative elements in his thought. Through an in-depth investigation of Galatians 3:1-4:11, Hays shows that the framework of Paul's thought is neither a system of doctrines nor his personal religious experience but the "sacred story" of Jesus Christ.

Book excerpt: A profound exploration of how to hold on to hope when our unchanging faith collides with a changing culture, from two respected Christian storytellers and thought leaders. “Offers neither spin control nor image maintenance for the evangelical tribe, but genuine hope.”—Russell Moore, president of ERLC As the pressures of health warnings, economic turmoil, and partisan politics continue to rise, the influence of gospel-focused Christians seems to be waning. In the public square and popular opinion, we are losing our voice right when it’s needed most for Christ’s glory and the common good. But there’s another story unfolding too—if you know where to look. In Gospelbound, Collin Hansen and Sarah Eekhoff Zylstra counter these growing fears with a robust message of resolute hope for anyone hungry for good news. Join them in exploring profound stories of Christians who are quietly changing the world in the name of Jesus—from the wild world of digital media to the stories of ancient saints and unsung contemporary activists on the frontiers of justice and mercy. Discover how, in these dark times, the light of Jesus shines even brighter. You haven’t heard the whole story. And that’s good news.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Timeless Publication Was First Printed In 1890 as a Book of Ninety-Six Pages.PREFACE: "IN THE first verse of the third chapter of Hebrews we have an exhortation which comprehends all the injunctions given to the Christian. It is this: "Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus." To do this as the Bible enjoins, to consider Christ continually and intelligently, just as He is, will transform one into a perfect Christian, for "by beholding we become changed." "Ministers of the gospel have an inspired warrant for keeping the theme, Christ, continually before the people and directing the attention of the people to Him alone. . . . "But the fact that the apostles made Christ the burden of all their preaching is not our sole warrant for magnifying Him. His name is the only name under heaven given among men whereby we can be saved. Acts 4:12. Christ Himself declared that no man can come unto the Father but by Him. John 14:6. To Nicodemus He said, "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:14, 15. This "lifting up" of Jesus, while it has primary reference to His crucifixion, embraces more than the mere historical fact; it means that Christ must be "lifted up" by all who believe in Him, as the crucified Redeemer, whose grace and glory are sufficient to supply the world's greatest need; it means that He should be "lifted up" in all His exceeding loveliness and power as "God with us," that His Divine attractiveness may thus draw all unto Him. See John 12:32. . . ."It is only by constantly and prayerfully considering Jesus as He is revealed in the Bible that we can keep from becoming weary in well-doing and from fainting by the way. "Again, we should consider Jesus because in Him "are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Col. 2:3. Whoever lacks wisdom is directed to ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and upbraids not, and the promise is that it shall be given him, but the desired wisdom can be obtained only in Christ. The wisdom which does not proceed from Christ and which does not as a consequence lead to Him is only foolishness, for God, as the Source of all things, is the Author of wisdom; ignorance of God is the worst sort of foolishness (see Rom. 1:21, 22) and all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hid in Christ, so that he who has only the wisdom of this world knows, in reality, nothing. And since all power in heaven and in earth is given to Christ, the apostle Paul declares Christ to be "the power of God and the wisdom of God." 1 Cor. 1:24. "There is one text, however, which briefly sums up all that Christ is to man and gives the most {8} comprehensive reason for considering Him. It is this: "But of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption." 1 Cor. 1:30. We are ignorant, wicked lost. Christ is to us wisdom, righteousness, redemption. What a range! From ignorance and sin to righteousness and redemption. Man's highest aspiration or need cannot reach outside the bounds of what Christ is to us and what He alone is to us. Sufficient reason this why the eyes of all should be fixed upon Him. The Righteousness of God in Christ concentrates on telling us how we are righteous because of God's righteousness. Having, knowing, and letting God's righteousness operate in our lives is essential to living a better life. The dread we sometimes feel is alleviated as we learn to trust and live right because of His gift of righteousness. Being in right standing with God is more than following a set of rules that we do not look forward to at times because of the consequences. Consequences that sooner or later make us feel like we were missing out on life because of a neglected obligation or dissatisfied results. The righteousness of God in Christ will strengthen us as we learn to accept this gift that releases us to a more fulfilling life. It is the gift that people need and deserve to know about.

Present Your Members as Instruments of Righteousness (Romans 6:12-19) The gospel of the water and the Spirit is God`s righteousness! The words in this book will satisfy the thirst in your heart. Today`s Christians continue to live while not knowing the true solution to the actual sins that they are committing daily. Do you know what God`s righteousness is? I hope that you will ask yourself this question and believe in God`s righteousness, which is revealed in this book. God`s righteousness has been with the gospel of the water and the Spirit. However, like a precious treasure, it has been kept hidden from the eyes of religious followers for a long time. As a result, many people came to rely on and boast of their own righteousness instead of believing in God`s righteousness. Therefore, Christian doctrines that don`t even make sense came to be dominant beliefs in the hearts of believers, as if these doctrines contained God`s righteousness. The Doctrines of Predestination, Justification, and Incremental Sanctification are the major Christian doctrines, which brought confusion and emptiness into the souls of believers. But now, many Christians should newly come to know God, learn about His righteousness and continue in the assured faith. "Our Lord who becomes the righteousness of God" will provide your soul with a great understanding and lead it to peace. The author wants you to possess the blessing of knowing God`s righteousness. May God`s blessing be with you! The New Life Mission https://www.bjnewlife.org

Book excerpt: Are Christians merely forgiven, or do they possess the righteousness of Christ? Recently the time-honored understanding of the doctrine of justification has come under attack. Many question how-or if-we receive the full righteousness of Christ. Martin Luther said that if we understand justification "we are in the clearest light; if we do not know it, we dwell in the densest darkness." And now, in this new and important book, John Piper accepts Luther's challenge. He points out that we need to see ourselves as having been recipients of the imputation of Christ's righteousness and therefore enjoy full acceptance with God and the everlasting inheritance of life and joy. Piper writes as both a pastor and a scholar. His pastor's heart is shown in his zeal for the welfare of the church. His careful scholarship is evident in each explanation and undergirds each conclusion.

Book excerpt: This book was written and directs its content to Christian believers in Jesus Christ. Its purpose is to edify and exhort Christians everywhere the Lord would use it. The content and title is intended to fill the void of the un-learned, to teach those that hunger and thirst, and to awaken those that have fallen into their own works and their own righteousness. The title, Righteousness is not for Babies comes from Hebrews 5:13 where the scripture tells us if we are not skilled in the word of righteousness, we are babes. The book corrects and guides by the Scriptures to show that God is a God of order, and the process by which we grow in our faith. The main objective is to direct the Christian from their own righteousness into the righteousness of Christ Jesus. The righteousness of Christ will change human mentality and keep the Christian in the right perspective; we do because of who we are (in Him), not we are because we do. Tim and Jeri Garrison are graduates of Victory Bible Institute in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and members of Victory Fellowship of Ministries. They have been missionaries in five different countries, and established and directed a Bible school overseas. They teach 55 different biblical subjects, and have served and been involved in every ministry of the church. Tim founded Temple Ministries, Inc, and has been President since 1996; Jeri is Vice President. Through this ministry churches and Bible schools have been planted and supported as well as other ministries.
