Book Synopsis Understanding Geologic Carbon Sequestration and Gas Hydrate from Molecular Simulation by : Yongchen Song
Download or read book Understanding Geologic Carbon Sequestration and Gas Hydrate from Molecular Simulation written by Yongchen Song and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2024-03-09 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The development, storage and comprehensive utilization of energy is an important subject concerned by scientists all over the world. Carbon capture and storage technology is one of the most effective mitigation technologies for global climate change, accurate understanding of the migration of multiphase fluids in reservoirs is crucial for reservoir stock evaluation and safety evaluation. Understanding Carbon Geologic Sequestration and Gas Hydrate from Molecular Simulation systematically introduces CO2 geological sequestration and gas hydrate at the molecular-scale, with research including interfacial properties of multiphase, multicomponent systems, hydrogen bonding properties, adsorption characteristics of CO2 / CH4 in the pore, kinetic properties of decomposition/nucleation/growth of gas hydrate, the influence of additives on gas hydrate growth dynamics, and hydrate prevention and control technology. This book focuses on research-based achievements and provides a comprehensive look at global progress in the field. Because there are limited resources available on carbon geologic sequestration technology and gas hydrate technology at the molecular level, the authors wrote this book to fill a gap in scientific literature and prompt further research. - Distills learnings for fundamental and advanced knowledge of molecular simulation in carbon dioxide and gas hydrate storage - Synthesizes knowledge about the development status of CGS technology and hydrate technology in the molecular field – tackling these technologies from a microscopic perspective - Analyzes scientific problems related to CGS technology and hydrate technology based on molecular simulation methods - Explores challenges relative to carbon dioxide and hydrate storage - Provides hierarchical analysis combined with the authors' own research-based case studies for enhanced comprehension and application
Book Synopsis Materials Characterisation Five by : Andrea Alberto Mammoli
Download or read book Materials Characterisation Five written by Andrea Alberto Mammoli and published by WIT Press. This book was released on 2011 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Until recently, engineering materials could be characterized successfully using relatively simple testing procedures. However, advanced materials technology has led to the development of materials with complex meso-, micro- and nano-structures that can no longer be characterised with simple testing procedures. Materials modelling and characterisation have become ever more closely intertwined. Characterisation, in essence, connects the abstract material model with the real-world behaviour of the material in question. Characterisation of complex materials often requires a combination of experimental and computational techniques. This book contains papers to be presented at the Fifth International Conference, convened to facilitate the sharing of recent work between researchers who use computational methods, those who perform experiments, and those who do both, in all areas of materials characterisation. The papers cover such topics as: Advances in composites; Thermal analysis; Nano-materials; Damage mechanics; Computational models and experiments; Mechanical characterisation and testing; Nano-composites; Energy materials; Chemo-mechanical problems; Innovative experiments; Recycled materials; and Corrosion problems.

Book Synopsis Molecular Spectra and Molecular Structure by : K. Huber
Download or read book Molecular Spectra and Molecular Structure written by K. Huber and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 729 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the publication in 1950 of Vol. I, Spectra of Diatomic Molecules of Molecular Spectra and Molecular Structure, much progress has been made in the field. While there have been some important refinements in the theory of diatomic molecular spectra, most of the advances have been in the further exploration of individual spectra. Not only has the number of molecules about which some spectroscopic data are available been increased by a factor of 2 to 3, but also the spectroscopic information about the molecules known in 1950 has been vastly extended. This is due to the observation of new elec tronic states (about three times as many as known before), the enormous improvements in the accuracy of the constants of the states known in 1950, and the determination of higher order constants. In view of the increasing use of spectroscopic information on diatomic molecules in other fields of physics, in chemistry, and in astrophysics, it appeared desirable to prepare an up-to-date version of the table of molecular constants in the appendix of Vol. I. This updating proved to be far more time-consuming than originally anticipated, and it is only now, 10 years that we are able to present such a table, which, instead after its initiation, of the original 80 pages (plus 30 pages of bibliography), now fills a volume of 700 pages. In the interest of economy, and unlike the original version, the new table has been produced by photo-offset from the final manuscript.
