Book Synopsis Nonlinear Physics of Plasmas by : Mitsuo Kono
Download or read book Nonlinear Physics of Plasmas written by Mitsuo Kono and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-10-17 with total page 540 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A nonlinearity is one of the most important notions in modern physics. A plasma is rich in nonlinearities and provides a variety of behaviors inherent to instabilities, coherent wave structures and turbulence. The book covers the basic concepts and mathematical methods, necessary to comprehend nonlinear problems widely encountered in contemporary plasmas, but also in other fields of physics and current research on self-organized structures and magnetized plasma turbulence. The analyses make use of strongly nonlinear models solved by analytical techniques backed by extensive simulations and available experiments. The text is written for senior undergraduates, graduate students, lecturers and researchers in laboratory, space and fusion plasmas.

Download or read book Dynamical Systems and Nonlinear Waves in Plasmas written by Santo Banerjee and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-09-10 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dynamical systems and Nonlinear Waves in Plasmas is written in a clear and comprehensible style to serve as a compact volume for advanced postgraduate students and researchers working in the areas of Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Dynamical Systems, Nonlinear waves in Plasmas or other nonlinear media. It provides an introduction to the background of dynamical systems, waves, oscillations and plasmas. Basic concepts of dynamical systems and phase plane analysis for the study of dynamical properties of nonlinear waves in plasmas are presented. Different kinds of waves in plasmas are introduced. Reductive perturbative technique and its applications to derive different kinds of nonlinear evolution equations in plasmas are discussed. Analytical wave solutions of these nonlinear evolution equations are presented using the concept of bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems in a very simple way. Bifurcations of both small and arbitrary amplitudes of various nonlinear acoustic waves in plasmas are presented using phase plots and time-series plots. Super nonlinear waves and its bifurcation behaviour are discussed for various plasma systems. Multiperiodic, quasiperiodic and chaotic motions of nonlinear plasma waves are discussed in presence of external periodic force. Multistability of plasma waves is investigated. Stable oscillation of plasma waves is also presented in dissipative plasmas. The book is meant for undergraduate and postgraduate students studying plasma physics. It will also serve a reference to the researchers, scientists and faculties to pursue the dynamics of nonlinear waves and its properties in plasmas. It describes the concept of dynamical systems and is useful in understanding exciting features, such as solitary wave, periodic wave, supernonlinear wave, chaotic, quasiperiodic and coexisting structures of nonlinear waves in plasmas. The concepts and approaches, discussed in the book, will also help the students and professionals to study such features in other nonlinear media.

Book Synopsis Transport, Chaos And Plasma Physics 2 by : Benkadda Sadruddin
Download or read book Transport, Chaos And Plasma Physics 2 written by Benkadda Sadruddin and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1996-08-22 with total page 460 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since the early developments of 'nonlinear science', plasma physics played a major role in its evolution: solitons, hamiltonian chaos, distinction between absolute and convective instabilities, and dynamics of coherent structures in turbulence. Understanding transport in plasmas is important for fusion devices but also for fundamental astrophysics, for fluid mechanics, for theoretical chemistry and engineering, and plasma processing in engineering. This second workshop gathered experts in plasma physics, nonlinear phenomena and mathematics. It aimed at enabling theoreticians, numericians and experimentalists in plasma turbulence to relate electromagnetic fluctuations, modes of self-organisation and transport processes. It may lead to developing new diagnostics and new methods for signal processing.

Book Synopsis Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos, and Complexity by : Dimitri Volchenkov
Download or read book Nonlinear Dynamics, Chaos, and Complexity written by Dimitri Volchenkov and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-12-14 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book demonstrates how mathematical methods and techniques can be used in synergy and create a new way of looking at complex systems. It becomes clear nowadays that the standard (graph-based) network approach, in which observable events and transportation hubs are represented by nodes and relations between them are represented by edges, fails to describe the important properties of complex systems, capture the dependence between their scales, and anticipate their future developments. Therefore, authors in this book discuss the new generalized theories capable to describe a complex nexus of dependences in multi-level complex systems and to effectively engineer their important functions. The collection of works devoted to the memory of Professor Valentin Afraimovich introduces new concepts, methods, and applications in nonlinear dynamical systems covering physical problems and mathematical modelling relevant to molecular biology, genetics, neurosciences, artificial intelligence as well as classic problems in physics, machine learning, brain and urban dynamics. The book can be read by mathematicians, physicists, complex systems scientists, IT specialists, civil engineers, data scientists, urban planners, and even musicians (with some mathematical background).
Book Synopsis Lectures on Non-linear Plasma Kinetics by : Vadim N. Tsytovich
Download or read book Lectures on Non-linear Plasma Kinetics written by Vadim N. Tsytovich and published by Springer. This book was released on 2011-12-16 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lectures on Non-linear Plasma Kinetics is an introduction to modern non-linear plasma physics showing how many of the techniques of modern non-linear physics find applications in plasma physics and how, in turn, the results of this research find applications in astrophysics. Emphasis is given to explaining the physics of nonlinear processes and the radical change of cross-sections by collective effects. The author discusses new nonlinear phenomena involving the excitation of coherent nonlinear structures and the dynamics of their random motions in relation to new self-organization processes. He also gives a detailed description of applications of the general theory to various research fields, including the interaction of powerful radiation with matter, controlled thermonuclear research, etc.
