Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cast Down But Not Destroyed is a book that contains the true story about a woman from North Philadelphia. It is a true story that offers hope and deliverance to the abused and wounded hearts of women everywhere that have experienced undeserved hardship and heartbreak. Notwithstanding, this book is useful for all genders alike. And after reading Cast Down But Not Destroyed you will be able to see a light at the end of your dark tunnel. The Bible states, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." So get ready to enjoy your morning; you are chosen to make it. Mary Bowman is a native Philadelphian. Born May 24, 1979, she is the eldest daughter of six siblings, and known for having been the more eventful. From an early age she attended church services with her mother, but it was her grandmother whom taught her more of what serving God truly meant. Her personal relationship with Jesus Christ can be traced back to her early childhood when she first received Him as Savior. Her life's experiences are rooted in her spirituality, even when she endured a period of wandering away from her spiritual roots. A very exciting, jubilant, and charismatically beautiful woman, she is loved by everyone she meets. Having overcome so many of life's obstacles, she now resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she is a devoted wife to her husband of eight years, and devoted mother to their young daughter. She also lives her life as a licensed Evangelist and Co-Pastor of Shabach Evangelistic Deliverance Temple in Philadelphia where her husband is pastor. She also evangelizes in the streets of Philadelphia with the Lions of Salvation, a City-wide Street Evangelism Outreach Team of Born-Again Believers, in an effort to compel the unsaved to receive Christ as Savior. This is her first book as a published author, and in reading it, you will not be disappointed.

Book excerpt: Her husband is sitting in the ash heap, scraping his diseased body with a piece of pottery. Her children have been killed, along with most of the servants. The animals are either dead or stolen. Where has her life gone? Yesterday, she was the wife of one of the most affluent men in the east. Now her life is shattered and possibly threatened. How will she survive? She is afraid, but where will she go? Should she tell others how she is feeling? Would they understand? She is alone and desperately wants her old life back. How can she go on? Have you ever felt like that? Life can change in a moment, and what you know to be reality today may only be a memory tomorrow. Ruth Ellen weaves her personal story along with an imaginary Jobs wife. Together they will bring you through any adversity you may face with an understanding that God is sovereign and in control even when everything seems to be spinning out of control.

Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Battle-scarred political warrior David Horowitz says it’s time for conservatives to take the gloves off—and take our country back. America is at a crucial turning point in her history, and Republicans have been losing ground to Democrats for too long. In his new book Take No Prisoners, Horowitz sounds a clarion call for conservatives to use liberals’ political playbook against them in the fight for America's future. No longer can the GOP afford to let Democrats brazenly claim the moral high ground while the Democratic agenda bankrupts hardworking Americans. No longer can the Right respond to the Left's emotional attacks with appeals to reason. Year after year, liberals have won voters' hearts and minds by selling a fantasy of moral righteousness. Republicans need to learn from Democrats' successes in order to turn the tide, David Horowitz argues, and they need to do it now. From his days as a founder of the radical New Left movement in the 1960s to his storied career as a leading conservative activist, Horowitz has a lifetime of experience in battleground politics. Now he lays out a winning political strategy for the Right that can save the country from sliding into economic and social ruin. If conservatives want a better future for America, they need to be able to beat liberals at their own game—and David Horowitz is teaching them how.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More than a decade ago, Jerry Sittser prayed for the protection of his family, yet three of his loved ones--his daughter, his wife, and his mother--died in an automobile accident. What went wrong? "Why wasn't my prayer answered?" he asks. "It is no longer an abstract question to me. What should we do and how should we respond when our prayers--prayers that seem right and true and good--go unanswered?" In When God Doesn't Answer Your Prayer, Sittser continues exploring the issues he addressed in A Grace Disguised. He asks, "Why doesn't God answer our prayers? What, if anything, can we do about it?" Sittser is intensely committed to exploring the Christian faith, especially when it doesn't seem to "work." In this thoughtful and beautifully written book, he moves beyond easy answers and religious formulas to explore the goodness and greatness of a God who cannot be controlled but can be trusted. When God Doesn't Answer Your Prayer takes an honest and probing look at the problem of unanswered prayer. In doing so, it draws us ever deeper into a relationship with the God who is the end of all our prayers, the object of our faith, the one who fulfills our deepest longings.
