Clyde’s brother, Ian, and Freeda’s sister, Jo are drafter into helping them. They have a beautiful setting in the mountains with a large lake with an island and a waterfall. They are unsure of themselves and call the camp Camp Miracle because Clyde says it will be a miracle if he survives the first week. Children come in and thoroughly enjoy the camp. One of the young boys was injured in an auto accident and was unable to walk, but somehow during the week at camp he regains the use of his leg. Other children with different disabilities also seem to regain their health while at camp. Everyone is accepted at the camp regardless of their ability or disability and love is shown to all. Even the wild animals bring themselves or loved ones to Clyde to be healed. The children love to play jokes and tricks on their counselors because they like them and on one nurse because they don’t like her. She becomes a hero after a very strange creature arrives at the camp and she comes to his rescue.

Book excerpt: It was an enormous gamble. Building a mountain retreat for wealthy aristocrats was, by no means, a sure thing. But the family of nine siblings formed a solemn pact unto themselves to do just that. The retreat had all the amenities, including horseback riding, guided hunting, a country club, and its own lake. The centerpiece was to be a world class resort. But the most valuable asset of all was already there. The Family had acquired a large piece of pristine wilderness in California's remote north coastal mountains. They called their Family Mission the "Grand Project." But it would become formally known as HOTEL BENBOW. This is the story of its creation.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The movie The Passion of The Christ dramatically conveyed the price that Jesus paid on the cross to redeem the sins of the world. John Webb Kline's new book, I Could Use a Miracle Right Now, profoundly brings the message of the cross and what it means to us in the 21st century into perspective in a way that few books can. It is a story about one man's life-long encounter with the Living Christ--a story that one might call, The Passion of the Christian. It is a must-read for any true seeker of truth or follower of Christ. Author John Webb Kline describes his inspiring new book as a Workingman's Theology-a theology that helps us to find God in the midst of our everyday struggles and which helps us to make sense out of the seemingly senseless trials and tribulations we all face. Based on stories from his own, often tumultuous, yet miracle-filled life, Webb brings us to the amazing discovery that, not only is God's intervention for our lives real, but it is also there for each and everyone of us-hidden only by our rational worldviews and unbelief. This is a book about hanging on to faith when it would seem perfectly reasonable not to; a book for the faithless and faithful alike; it is a book for those who are feeling so hurt, so angry, or so left out of God's will that they have nothing left but the desire to curse God and die. In today's world, it very well could be your own handbook for survival. Heart to Hand Ministries director, Woody Wolfe has this to say about I Could Use a Miracle Right Now: "Webb is able to take us on that journey to see the true miracles that are the reality of our everyday lives even when the world had blurred our vision. Webb's uncanny ability to put into words, that which is at the heart of the true Gospel message, has been such a blessing to me. I wish this book would have been around during those first days of my full-time ministry when I was still looking to the world for affirmation. To truly understand that God is already knocked out about us, gives us the freedom to be just who we are and Webb has brought that vision of the uncompromising love of God to these pages." Book excerpt: After traveling the globe and speaking to thousands of churches worldwide, Paul David Tripp has discovered a serious problem within pastoral culture. He is not only concerned about the spiritual life of the pastor, but also with the very community of people that trains him, calls him, relates to him, and restores him if necessary. Dangerous Calling reveals the truth that the culture surrounding our pastors is spiritually unhealthy—an environment that actively undermines the wellbeing and efficacy of our church leaders and thus the entire church body. Here is a book that both diagnoses and offers cures for issues that impact every member and church leader, and gives solid strategies for fighting the all-important war that rages in our churches today.

Book excerpt: When all seems lost, where can you find hope? Katherine and Jay Wolf married right after college and sought adventure far from home in Los Angeles, CA. As they pursued their dreams--she as a model and he as a lawyer--they planted their lives in the city and their church community. Their son, James, came along unexpectedly in the fall of 2007, and just six months later, everything changed in a moment for this young family. On April 21, 2008, as James slept in the other room, Katherine collapsed, suffering a massive brain stem stroke without warning. Miraculously, Jay came home in time and called for help. Katherine was immediately rushed into brain surgery, though her chance of survival was slim. As the sun rose the next morning, the surgeon proclaimed that Katherine had survived the removal of part of her brain, though her future recovery was uncertain. Yet in that moment, there was a spark of hope. Through forty days on life support in the ICU and nearly two years in full-time brain rehab, that small spark of hope was fanned into flame. Hope Heals documents Katherine and Jay's journey as they struggled to regain Katherine's quality of life and as she relearned to talk, eat, and walk. As Katherine returned home with a severely disabled body but a completely renewed purpose, she and Jay committed to celebrating this gift of a second chance by embracing life fully, even though that life looked very different than they could have ever imagined. As you uncover Katherine and Jay's remarkable story, you'll be encouraged to: Find lasting hope in the midst of struggle Embrace the unexpected Welcome God's miracles into your everyday life In the midst of continuing hardships, both in body and mind, Katherine and Jay found what we all long to find: a hope that heals the most broken place--our souls. Let Hope Heals be your guide along the way. Praise for Hope Heals: "As I read this book, tears streamed from my eyes even as joy flooded my heart. Jay and Katherine are a raw yet refreshing testimony to the unshakable trustworthiness of God amidst the unimaginable trials of life. This book reminds all of us where hope can be found in a world where none of us know what the next day holds." --David Platt, author of the New York Times bestseller Radical and president of the International Mission Board "Hope Heals is a beautiful, true story that illustrates the love and protection God has for us even in the darkest times of our lives. Katherine and Jay's dedication to each other and the Lord through their most devastating season is inspiring. This book will help your heart believe that He sees, He knows, He cares, and He is still working miracles today!" --Lysa TerKeurst, New York Times bestselling author and president of Proverbs 31 Ministries

Book excerpt: Claims of the miraculous are foundational to faith and skepticism, making and breaking religious careers and movements in their wake. Drawing on a variety of South Asian religious traditions-Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity-this book revolves around the theme of conundrum, demonstrating how miracles offer divine proof, tenacious embarrassment, and, in many cases, both. The contributors explore not only how modern miracles are conundrums themselves but also how they make conundrums out of assumed divides between scientific and supernatural realms, modernity and tradition, the West and the rest, and ethnographer and native. Lafayette loves his brothers and would do anything if they could face the world as a team. But even though Ty'ree cares, he's just so busy with work and responsibility. And Charlie's changed so much that his former affection for his little brother has turned to open hostility. Now, as Lafayette approaches 13, he needs the guidance and answers only his brothers can give him. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Miracle in a Daddy's Hug has a two-fold meaning: It's about the child who is a miracle full of miracles, and it's about the miracle-producing power of a daddy wrapping his arms, words, and heart around his child. In a world where so many boys and girls grow up deprived of their father's love, we see the repercussions of this depravation in the individual lives of these children and in society as a whole. The Miracle in a Daddy's Hug has a two-fold meaning: It's about the child who is a miracle full of miracles, and it's about the miracle-producing power of a daddy wrapping his arms, words, and heart around his child. This easy to read and understand book shares seven components of the miracle in a daddy's hug: First it examines the miracle of the child and the dad. Then, it looks at the value of touch, words, time, love, and faith. This book helps parents understand their children, it provides vision and strategies for both moms and dads, and it builds confidence in every dad that he can raise miracles called children.
