Wallace’s latest volume begins with a tale about Scoty, a task oriented hitchhiker on his way to San Francisco. But when he arrives, he gets more than he bargained for as the city shows its multicolored under side. Next, Wallace leads us on a journey sharing insight into aliens and the lives of characters facing a variety of escapades while experiencing beach time on Coney Island. Then a quick journey down south for the pilot episode of ‘Crocker’s’. Next, a trip to New York City during the holidays to sell Christmas Trees. Then, a trip back in time for a taste of teenage pyromania. And finally then to Savannah during the early seventies as a head shop attempts to survive before its time. Five more stories are included. Free Lance Writer is a writer’s daydream of selling directly to the general public. Fred the Cop is the story of maturity and psilocybin. I Was in a Coma Once covers a personal struggle between life and death. A Baseball Story is about an autographed ball with a history. And, Just an Idea explores one possibility of saving a New York City landmark, the Apollo Theater. Earth Tales is a collection of entertaining writings that help lead others through times and places that prove that a life well lived is a life full of adventure.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume two explores the way a wide range of classic princess tales written by marginalized writers. Rapunzel and Snow White, with their pale skin or long ropes of golden hair, are particularly popular vehicles for exploring and challenging racialized constructions of beauty. Marriage is the traditional vehicle of a happy ending in Princess tales, so marginalized responses to these tales also inherently respond to the doubly colonized position of women in the Anglophone world. The institution of marriage typically exposes the institutional oppression of colonized women. Authors include Charles Chesnutt, Jessie Fauset, Julia Kavanaugh, George Edwards, some of the unpublished manuscripts of Jewish-Australian author Joseph Jacobs, and the earliest work of Sinèad de Valera, as well as fin-de-siècle illustrators such as Harry Clarke, and collected oral tales.

Book excerpt: The sun hung low in the cloudless blue sky. Itchy's ears twitched as he nervously stomped his feet and sniffed the air. "Easy boy, I smell it." Livy stroked her horse's neck and stared at the ridge to the east. The wind carried the strong smell of smoke and she strained to locate the source. Olivia spent the summer working the Bar S Ranch. Her flight home was just three days away, when Pa Atkinson sends her on her last chore. Eager for a chance to make the trip she sets out at daybreak. "Keep an eye on the skyline for smoke. If you smell smoke, or hear the choppers, turn around. I can get the radio after you head home. Use your head, and keep your senses about you." Don warns as she leaves. Unfortunately, the fast moving fire traps Olivia on the Butte. Olivia is in a race for her life. Along the way she finds the key to saving the ranch, but can she use it? "Won't do any good if I can't get away from this fire."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is John Pascal once again, with a new book of entertaining fictiona collection of sixteen Shaggy Dog stories and four more traditional tales, one a novelette. Saki (H.H. Munro) and O. Henry (William Sidney Porter) wrote short stories with surprise endings, but mainly satirical, not comedic. As Pascal tells us in his Preface to them: All Shaggy Dog tales are comedies, high or low, depending upon their subject matter and the writers art. Briefly, getting to the conclusion of a good Shaggy Dog story can be well worth the wait; and in a truly great one there can be a lot of fun along the way. And he would agree that since traditionally these anecdotes have been related orally (at a Club, bar, or other private or limited venues), they have not been given the attention they deserve nor the entertainment they would provide to a larger audience.

Yet Australia as a continent of extreme, rare and complex environments has produced a startling group of ecological pioneers. Across a wide range of human endeavour, Australian thinkers and innovators - whether they have thought of themselves as environmentalists or not - have made some truly original contributions to ecological thought. Ecological Pioneers traces the emergence of ecological understandings in Australia. By constructing a social history with chapters focusing on different fields in the arts, sciences, politics and public life, the authors bring to life the work of significant individuals. Some of the ecological pioneers featured include Joseph Banks, Russell Drysdale, Judith Wright, Myles Dunphy, Philip Crosbie Morrison, Vincent Serventy, Francis Ratcliffe, the Gurindji and Yolngu peoples, Bill Mollison, Jack Mundey, Val Plumwood, Michael Leunig, and many more.

Book excerpt: "Dem Seh" is a book of stories from my village, Buxton. I come from a village of great tradition and history, and one of its many traditions is its storytelling. We are a predominantly black village; direct descendants of slaves, and so storytelling has always been with us. We have always had a line of great storytellers, or as we say "shit talk artists." The book is a small collection of some of the more popular and hilarious stories. Some are contemporary and others are from the previous generation. This book grew out of a sense of the need for renewal in my village. Buxton suffered through some violent and stressful times a few years ago, and I felt that Buxton needed to laugh again; to laugh at itself again. To celebrate itself again. This book is a gift to Buxton, for Buxton has always given of itself. Part of its proceeds will be donated to social and educational initiatives in the village. I was born in Buxton, Guyana, on the east coast of Demerara, where I received my primary and secondary education. I left for Cuba in 1980, where I completed studies in Medicine in 1985. I returned to Guyana, and after serving out my contract, came to the United States in 1992. I am currently practicing in Primary Care and Addiction Medicine in Brooklyn New York, where I live with my wife and daughter. I have been writing on and off since I was a child and have three previous publications; "Infinite circles," "In flux" and "Godma." All self published.
