Book excerpt: Join two bug friends as they learn about the science of the world around them and the meaning of friendship in this early graphic novel series perfect for fans of Narwhal and Jelly! Rhino-B is a brash, but sweet guy. Stag-B is a calm and scholarly adventurer. Together these two young beetles make up the Bug Boys, best friends who spend their time exploring the world of Bug Village and beyond, as well as their own -- sometimes confusing and complicated -- thoughts and feelings. In their first adventure, the Bug Boys travel through spooky caves, work with a spider to found a library, save their town's popular honey supply from extinction, and even make friends with ferocious termites! Join these two best bug buddies as they go above and beyond for each other and the friends they meet in their adventures. “Bug Boys has a wonderful blend of silliness, introspection, adventure and the right amount of weirdness. I loved how Rhino-B and Stag-B deal with the pressure of being true to each other and to the new friends they make on their journeys.” – Drew Brockington, author of CatStronauts

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: So, you’ve got Bugs. How demons cause diseases, most notably; cancer, diabetes, dementia, bipolar syndrome and many others. This is a revealing of a long and well hidden truth about the essence of the spiritual element of the human soul. The world is currently in the throes of descending into an era of war, corruption, criminality, rioting, discontent, severe climate changes, etc, just as predicted in the book of Revelations and one of the main indicators of this is the dramatic, and exponentially rapidly increasing, incidence of auto-immune and psychological diseases. These diseases, despite decades or even millennia of research, have no known or determined chemical or physical initiation of the disease in afflicted people. This book explains how this all ties together and the reason for the existence of all religions and the effect thereon by acquiring a demon and how easy this can happen. No-one is immune to this disease and eternal vigilance is necessary to clear and maintain a pure soul. Here in I have described the manner in which the demon entity overrides the programming of the genome and the brain thought processes to cause aberrant behavior resulting in severe consequences to the spiritual cleanliness of inflicted people and then the method of clearing the demon from the soul permanently. The methodology has very strict rules which have to date never been explained and if not applied correctly will lead to the afflicted person becoming worse off than before (also biblical). I have drawn most of the knowledge herein from the Bible but also from other spiritual writings as well as personal experience.

Book excerpt: 1994, northern California. The Internet is just emerging from its origins in the military and university research labs. Groups of idealistic technologists, recognizing its potential as a tool for liberation and solidarity, are working feverishly to build the network. In the early chat rooms of one such gathering, soon-to-become-famous as The WELL, a Stanford futurist named Tom Mandel creates a new conference. In a topic headed “Local Bug Report” he asks for advice from fellow online participants about how he might shake off a persistent hacking cough. A few weeks into the conversation it emerges that Mandel’s illness is something serious. Within six months he is dead. This astonishing and deeply moving book is an edited version of the exchanges that took place on The WELL in the months leading up to the death of Mandel. It traces the way an innocuous health topic morphed into a dramatic chronicle of terminal illness and the complicated and emotional issues that surrounded it. A cast of articulate and savvy participants offer their advice and love to Mandel, supporting both him and each other as the trauma unfolds. At the center of their back-and-forth is Mandel himself, in a voice that is irascible, intelligent, never sentimental, and, above all, determined to stay in the conversation to the end. With an introduction by Paper editor Kim Hastreiter, who followed the exchanges on The WELL as they happened and was so moved that she printed and filed away a copy, @heaven opens a window onto the way the Internet functioned in its earliest days. In contrast to the trolling and take-downs of today’s online discourse, this electronic chronicle of a death foretold reminds us of the values of kinship and community that the Internet’s early pioneers tried to instill in a system that went on to take over the world.

Basher's distinctive style presents key microbes as characters with their own voice and personality. Microbiology investigates the "teensy tykes" such as algae and bacteria that are all around us in the living world, as well as a range of so-called "minibeasts", but these are not the usual creepy-crawlies that you might think of. These near-invisible creatures range from the zooplankton "good guys" to the unpleasant tapeworm and fluke. Yuk! Microbiology explains the different building blocks of the human body, as well as the nasty bugs that can make us so ill, whether it's catching a common cold or something much more deadly such as tuberculosis, the second biggest killer in the modern world.

Book excerpt: Will didn’t plan to eat a stinkbug. But when his friend Darryl called new kid Eloy Herrera a racial slur, Will did it as a diversion. Now Will is Bug Boy, and everyone is cracking up inventing insect meals for him, like French flies and maggot-aroni and fleas. Turns out eating bugs for food is a real thing, called entomophagy. Deciding that means he can use a class project to feed everyone grasshoppers, Will bargains for Eloy’s help in exchange for helping him with wrestling, but their growing friendship only ticks off Darryl more. Will may have bitten off more than he can chew as crickets, earthworm jerky—even a scorpion—end up on his plate, but insects are the least of his problems. When things with Darryl and Eloy heat up, Will wrestles with questions of loyalty, honor—and that maybe not all friendships are worth fighting for.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Learning the ABCs: Apologetics, the Bible, and Creation is a source of information that has taken the author nearly forty-four years to accumulate. The word apologetics comes from the Greek word apologia, which means "one capable of a strong defense." This book offers that ability to every reader, to become a strong defender. That strong defense is against those who would have us disbelieve in the Bible stories, events, prophecies, and overall accuracy of the Bible. Archaeology has progressed tremendously in the last seventy years, especially in the field of biblical archaeology. It's estimated that there are now over 6,500 discoveries in this field, verifying, illuminating, or bearing evidence for many of the people, places, stories, and events mentioned in the Bible. Yet when I ask most Christians to name three, they cannot. The same thing is now being found in science. There are vast amounts of discoveries, most coming from secular science, proving the fallibility and inaccuracies of evolution and the big bang. Tremendous evidence is coming forth in genetics proving dinosaurs are less than ten thousand years old, genetics proving man being here only about six to seven thousand years, that we didn't evolve from monkeys over millions of years, and more. Yet most Christians are not privy to this information. Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." I find this true. Many cannot defend their Bible, nor lead others to believe in it. This book teaches how to witness and make disciples with valid evidences for the Bible, while tearing down the walls of evolution.
