Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses on the values, beliefs, fears and actions of Brazilian groups that throughout the twentieth century fought the red menace. It is based on broad and diversified documentary sources, including police files, archives of political leaders, traditional press periodicals, newspapers and brochures of right-wing organizations, monuments, caricatures, and photographs. The work is a major contribution to better understanding the political impact of right-wing movements in Brazil and the justifications made for the authoritarian coups of 1937 and 1964. The author explains the intricacy of the political movements, leaderships and organizations that gathered around the fight against communism, as well as the ideas and images used to disseminate their arguments, including international sources of inspiration. The argument presented is not one of mere condemnation, but as dictatorship has reared its head post-1964 an assessment is long overdue in order to understand the political impact of anti-c
Book Synopsis Subsoil Management Techniques by : Bobby A. Stewart
Download or read book Subsoil Management Techniques written by Bobby A. Stewart and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1994-10-12 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The principles and practice of deep tillage techniques have often failed to provide long-term, sustainable improvements of the soil for crop production. The book reviews alternative approaches to overcoming subsoil problems. These approaches involve reduced disturbance of the soil, but still provide substantial and sustainable soil improvements. Chapters 1 through 4 discuss the use of minimum tillage, bed farming, mole drainage, and slotting to overcome adverse subsoil conditions. Chapter 5 examines the options available for management of subsoil acidity. The next chapter provides an understanding of the processes involved in stress transmission and compaction under farm trafficking. The last chapter explains the critical role of soil microorganisms in providing long-term biological stabilization and improvements of soil. This reference brings together the latest research information on these subsoil amelioration techniques.

Book Synopsis Taxonomy of the birds of the world by : fotolulu
Download or read book Taxonomy of the birds of the world written by fotolulu and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2018-10-30 with total page 701 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do you come up with the idea to list all the birds in the world including the subspecies and to give all birds English names? There is a reason for it - my favorite saying, whose author is unknown: "Everyone said that ́s not possible - then there was one who did not know that and just did it!" I am an animal photographer and probably a little bit crazy. Ive built a complete animal database for mammals and birds over the last decade. This facilitates my work in determining and archiving images and assigning keywords, especially among the many subspecies. With this book, I would like to give all birding friends and ornithologists a complete overview in English. For this I have given unique English names to all subspecies. The naming should not meet any scientific requirements. The names are based on translations from the Latin name, geographical distribution areas and the names of the discoverers. The entries consist of the scientific name, the English name, the distribution areas and the author. I wish you a lot of fun with this book, but especially while watching the fascinating birdlife. fotolulu
