Throughout history, blood moons have always been surrounded by persecution and provision, great trials and triumphs. The blood moons of 1493-1494 provided a new world for the Jewish people. In 1949-1950, the blood moons gave them Israel, and the following eclipses presented the Jewish people Jerusalem in 1967-1968. Now a new set of blood moons is on the horizon, and Tassie’s family is certain they will bring about great change. Tassie, named for a lost religious relic, has her sights set on her career and love, and she doesn’t have time for silly children’s stories. Dismissing the blood moons as circumstance, her unbelief threatens to keep her from her destiny. When Tassie finds herself in the center of worldwide turmoil and a terrorist plot, can she accept her family history and fulfill her place in the future of Israel? Or will the country of her heritage finally fall to its many enemies? Blood Moon Redemption is an end-times thriller that will keep you riveted until the very last moonrise.

Book excerpt: "Of Blood & Ink" is a journey of desperation creaking through the shadowy corridors of the human soul. Its uncompromising relentlessness, often times as beautiful as it is raw, will force you to navigate emotional terrain most people view with disdain; or at worst, simply ignore. Standing as a poetic assault on the human condition, social pressure, and the tragedy inevitably inherent with the empathetic neglect of human frailty, "Of Blood & Ink" ventures through the scarcely lit tunnel of youth as a journey to the coming of age, and arrives at the tunnel's end, bearing witness to the glorious sunrise that is human growth, as something more - a journey to the coming of life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nine short essays exploring the K’iche’ Maya story of creation, the Popol Vuh. Written during the lockdown in Chicago in the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic, these essays consider the Popol Vuh as a work that was also written during a time of feverish social, political, and epidemiological crisis as Spanish missionaries and colonial military deepened their conquest of indigenous peoples and cultures in Mesoamerica. What separates the Popol Vuh from many other creation texts is the disposition of the gods engaged in creation. Whereas the book of Genesis is declarative in telling the story of the world’s creation, the Popol Vuh is interrogative and analytical: the gods, for example, question whether people actually need to be created, given the many perfect animals they have already placed on earth. Emergency uses the historical emergency of the Popol Vuh to frame the ongoing emergencies of colonialism that have surfaced all too clearly in the global health crisis of COVID-19. In doing so, these essays reveal how the authors of the Popol Vuh—while implicated in deep social crisis—nonetheless insisted on transforming emergency into scenes of social, political, and intellectual emergence, translating crisis into creativity and world creation.

Book excerpt: A guide to understanding the phases of astrological Moon signs and their effects on emotions and personality • Describes the positive and negative character-defining traits of each of the 96 Moon phase/Moon sign combinations • Explains how to use your natal Moon’s sign and phase to predict how current and approaching Moons can affect you • Explores the universal challenges arising during each Moon phase throughout the year and ways to honor each phase as it passes The Moon’s ever-changing phases offer a way to deepen our understanding of our natal Moon sign as well as the Moon’s day-to-day influence on our emotional tides. Through its 8 phases and its wandering dance through each of the 12 signs of the Zodiac--from the Infant’s Moon (the New Moon in Aries) to the Storyteller’s Moon (the Full Moon in Gemini) to the Prophet’s Moon (the waning Balsamic Moon in Aquarius)--the Moon shares its story in 96 different ways. Telling the stories of the heart of all 96 Moon phase and Moon sign combinations, Raven Kaldera explains the creative gifts and emotional challenges bestowed upon those born under each Moon archetype as well as how to nurture the positive traits and improve--or at least discourage--the negative ones. Exploring the influences each Moon archetype has on us as it passes, the author reveals which Moons are the most difficult, what innate qualities each Moon brings out in us, and what we can do to honor each Moon. Including evocative quotes illuminating the nature of each Moon, Kaldera shows how to use your natal Moon’s astrological sign and phase to find your “hidden Moons”--the shadows cast by passing Moons--and predict how current and approaching Moons will affect you.

Book excerpt: "If there is anything I could do, what would you wish for, Isla?" Theo asked, his voice low and measured. His mind drifted back to a time long past, to Elena—her voice a haunting echo in the recesses of his mind. A faint smile touched his lips, bittersweet with the pang of what might have been if Elena were still there. The resemblance between Isla and Elena was uncanny, stirring memories and long-buried emotions he had carefully hidden away. For centuries, Theo had maintained a careful distance from the lives of mortals. But Isla—there was something about her that broke through his defences, drawing him into the haunting echoes of a past he had tried so hard to forget. "Run. I want to run away from here," Isla's voice ripped him from his reverie, sharp and startling... * * * Introducing Theo Horatio, a stoic immortal who has roamed the mortal realm for centuries, untouched by time. Bound by a vow to remain detached from mortal lives, his resolve shatters when he encounters a striking doppelgänger of his past, unrequited love. And then there's Isla Damien, a young woman trapped in the confines of adolescence, yearning for escape from a life dictated by family obligations. A scholarship to study abroad from a mysterious organisation offers a lifeline, but it arrives alongside the aftermath of memory loss that has left her with a haunting crescent scar on her wrist... A timeless saga. The cursed blood. Doppelgänger. And unrequited love.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Twentieth-century America has witnessed the most widespread and sustained movement of African-Americans from the South to urban centers in the North. Who Set You Flowin'? examines the impact of this dislocation and urbanization, identifying the resulting Migration Narratives as a major genre in African-American cultural production. Griffin takes an interdisciplinary approach with readings of several literary texts, migrant correspondence, painting, photography, rap music, blues, and rhythm and blues. From these various sources Griffin isolates the tropes of Ancestor, Stranger, and Safe Space, which, though common to all Migration Narratives, vary in their portrayal. She argues that the emergence of a dominant portrayal of these tropes is the product of the historical and political moment, often challenged by alternative portrayals in other texts or artistic forms, as well as intra-textually. Richard Wright's bleak, yet cosmopolitan portraits were countered by Dorothy West's longing for Black Southern communities. Ralph Ellison, while continuing Wright's vision, reexamined the significance of Black Southern culture. Griffin concludes with Toni Morrison embracing the South "as a site of African-American history and culture," "a place to be redeemed."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the last 500 years, blood-red moons have fallen on the first day of Passover three separate times. These occurrences were connected to some of the most significant days in Jewish history: 1492 (the final year of the Spanish Inquisition when Jews were expelled from Spain), 1948 (statehood for Israel and the War of Independence) and 1967 (the Six-Day War). The next series of four blood moons occurs at Passover and Sukkot in 2014 and 2015. In this devotional study guide, Pastor Hagee challenges readers to further explore the meaning behind blood moons, understand why Christians must recognize these signs that God refers to in Scripture, and absorb their prophetic significance. Ideal for individuals and groups, this devotional study guide combines questions and reflective journaling for deeper meaning and life application.

If So, Why? by Sharon Altenberger This book reveals that God is rapidly bringing the Babylonian Satanic Spirit world to an end and He does not want His Saints to be ignorant. The Prophecy of the Sword (curse), the Seven Year Tribulation period, is swiftly coming to pass upon the Earth. As Born Again Believers, we must be prepared to endure and stand fast in our faith in Christ until our harvest time. This book details the Latter Day Prophecies, which includes the miraculous End-Time Event of the Harvest of all Born Again believers, which will be followed by the outpouring of the Winepress of God’s Seven Vials of Wrath. This book reveals that during the Seventh Trumpet Judgment the door to salvation will remain open. However, the door to salvation will close when the Born Again Believers are resurrected, the resurrection of the just, which occurs just prior to the end of the Seventh Trumpet Period. The Harvest of the Saints will conclude God Almighty’s Grace and Mercy period, and this heavenly event will be followed by the fulfillment of the final portion of the ‘inside’ written message of the Sword (curse) period, the Day of the Lord. These Prophesied Events will end the Seven Year Tribulation Period.

From the discovery of the New World to the creation of modern-day Israel, these years of the four blood moons have truly been turning points in history. Bible prophecy describes the moon being darkened and turned to blood. What is the significance of these signs in the skies? What will the future bring? Prophecy expert Mark Hitchcock guides you through the relevant Bible passages so you can understand the times in which you live.
