Book Synopsis I Dated This Guy Once ... by : Toni R Duckworth
Download or read book I Dated This Guy Once ... written by Toni R Duckworth and published by Abbott Press. This book was released on 2013-09-25 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is my story, no fabrications, no bullshit, just a small glimpse into the life of a young woman. There is a lot to be said about going through the volatile years of ages 18-26. How do we get through them? How do we approach our decisions? How can we tell the difference between a man with good intentions and a man with a mission to get laid? You honestly cant. There are so many things that young women must learn on their own. No matter how much a father or mother try to protect their children from the world, somehow the world happens anyway. I Dated This Guy Once is intended to not only entertain you, but also to somehow educate you through my experiences. We are all made up of our past experiences, both good and bad. It is these experiences that form the fabric of the future. With that said, maybe people will start looking at life, relationships and marriage differently. Maybe perspective is all we need to change this society. I have no idea. If nothing else, you will undoubtedly be entertained. Red wine recommended.
Book Synopsis Philosophical Approaches to Demonology by : Benjamin W. McCraw
Download or read book Philosophical Approaches to Demonology written by Benjamin W. McCraw and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-03-31 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In contradistinction to the many monographs and edited volumes devoted to historical, cultural, or theological treatments of demonology, this collection features newly written papers by philosophers and other scholars engaged specifically in philosophical argument, debate, and dialogue involving ideas and topics in demonology. The contributors to the volume approach the subject from the perspective of the broadest areas of Western philosophy, namely metaphysics, epistemology, logic, and moral philosophy. The collection also features a plurality of religious, cultural, and theological views on the nature of demons from both Eastern and Western thought, in addition to views that may diverge from these traditional roots. Philosophical Approaches to Demonology will be of interest to philosophers of religion, theologians, and scholars working in philosophical theology and demonology, as well as historians, cultural anthropologists, and sociologists interested more broadly in the concept of demons.

Book Synopsis The Beating of My Hearts by : Brian L. Fowler
Download or read book The Beating of My Hearts written by Brian L. Fowler and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2013-02-28 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Taking his heartbeats for granted, Brian L. Fowler, MD, never thought he would lose any of his own. But on October 14, 2009, he discovers his beats are being stolen one by one. The culprit? A rare inflammatory disease called cardiac sarcoidosis, which results in deep, penetrating scars that trigger unpredictable life-threatening arrhythmias. Dr Fowler, an emergency medicine specialist, understands the deadly potential of each arrhythmia. His fear of death reveals an additional and more insidious heart disease, which is undetectable by PET scan or EKG, for its affected heart rests deeply hidden where anguish and delight coexist. Like his physical heart, his spiritual heart is weary, scarred, and beats chaotically. The two diseased hearts need diagnosis, treatment, and healing. Frustrated, scared, and armed with a physicians knowledge, a patients suffering, and a believers doubt, he begins a fascinating journey to discover the real reason for The Beating of My Hearts. With transparency, vulnerability, and honesty, Brian allows us to look in on his profound disorientation, hear his questions, follow his search for meaning, and ultimately discover a fresh orientation to the life that was in him all along. I found myself walking closely and attentively with him on his journey. This was well worth the read. J. Download or read book Eis Peirasmon written by Federico Elmetti and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2022-09-28 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For the past two thousand years, theologians and biblical scholars have been furiously debating the correct interpretation of the sixth petition of the Lord’s Prayer (“and lead us not into temptation”). Despite all the hypotheses proposed, no convincing solution has been found to date. In fact, every single attempt has crashed against insurmountable difficulties. Even within the church, the debate on this topic is far from settled. Recently, both France and Italy approved new translations that deviate substantially from the two-thousand-year-old traditional Latin version. Since God cannot be the one leading us into temptation (Satan is), it becomes necessary to reformulate the petition by hiding God’s responsibility under convoluted permissive constructs. But can any of these interpretations have any exegetical justification? This book is an ambitious and reckless attempt—from the point of view of an outsider, of a theoretical physicist—to rethink the Lord’s Prayer from the beginning, and with it, to come closer, if possible, to the authentic message of Christ. As a result of a rigorous, deductive, scientific approach that minimizes any hermeneutical bias, the meaning of the sixth petition will spontaneously emerge and appear to the reader in its simplicity and elegance.
Download or read book Mark's Gospel written by John Painter and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2005-06-20 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mark's 'biography' of Jesus is the earliest of the four gospels, and influenced them all. The distinctive feature of this biography is the quality of 'good news', which presupposes a world dominated by the forces of evil. John Painter shows how the rhetorical and dramatic shaping of the book emphasises the conflict of good and evil at many levels - between Jesus and the Jewish authorities, Jesus and the Roman authorities, and the conflict of values within the disciples themselves. These matters of content are integral to this original approach to Mark's theodicy, while the stylistic issue raises the question of Mark's intended readership. John Painter's succinct yet thorough treatment of Mark's gospel opens up not only these rhetorical issues, but the social context of the gospel, which Painter argues to be that of the Pauline mission to the nations.
