He dreamed of becoming a missionary pilot and hoped Kathleen Wilberforce will share his dream. But he loses Kathleen to a rival, then watches his dream crash like a toy airplane when he washes out of the Torrey Bible Institute mission aviation program (Chicago). Flailing about with disappointments and unanswered prayers, he performs a blasphemous ritual to convince himself that he has become an atheist. Kathleen unexpectedly shows up at the Institute but carries a dark secret that shames her and isolates her from Sean. Meanwhile, Sean finds that being a good atheist is harder than he thought. In his anguish, he seeks a path back to aviation, back to Kathleen, and back to God.

Book Synopsis The Gifts of the Holy Spirit to Unbelievers and Believers by : Clement Read Vaughan
Download or read book The Gifts of the Holy Spirit to Unbelievers and Believers written by Clement Read Vaughan and published by . This book was released on 1894 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This treatise does not seek to enlarge the boundaries of Christian knowledge, unless the attempt to restate the old familiar truths of the gospel of grace in the forms they have assumed in a re-thinking of them under the current modes of thought in the passing era can be so called. The object is wholly practical. There are no new speculations here. The discussion only seeks to extend the applicaion of some of these venerable truths to the practical experience of Christian people, and to restate the terms on which the Christian hope may be obtained by those not yet entitled to indulge it. - Preface.

Book Synopsis A Biblical Study of Divorce by : Dale Fisher
Download or read book A Biblical Study of Divorce written by Dale Fisher and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2004-08 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Having been taught the strict Traditional View, the author studied the Scripture and concluded that this view is lacking both biblically and in practiceas are the Traditional Dissolution-Divorce, the Betrothal, and the Consanguinity views. Studying all the pertinent passages, the author adopted what he calls the More Liberal Dissolution-Divorce View. The two testaments teach the same view on divorce and remarriage with one exception. The New Testament passages of Jesus and the Apostle Paul are interpreted in harmony with Greek grammar and the meaning of words. The author concluded that the divorce teaching of Scripture is addressed only to believers, and that it is time to stop the hypocrisy (fostered by the other views) of professing a certain belief but not daring to implement that belief in practice. The author knows of no study in print that reaches these important conclusions.
