In den heutigen Klassen befinden sich Schüler, die sehr unterschiedlich sind: „die verschieden alt sind, auf unterschiedlichen Leistungsniveaus und mit unterschiedlichen Strategien lernen, aus verschiedenen Familien, Schichten und Kulturen kommen, sich als Mädchen und Jungen vielfältig inszenieren und sich zu einzigartigen Persönlichkeiten entwickelt haben“. Kann man dies als Heterogenität in den Schulen bezeichnen? Bevor ich zu meinem Thema „Umgang mit Heterogenität“ komme, möchte ich den Begriff „Heterogenität in den Schulen“ definieren. Ludwig Duncker schreibt in seinem Beitrag „Bildung und Heterogenität. Zerreißproben für das Bildungssystem“ folgendes: „Heterogenität bezieht sich aber nicht nur auf das Spektrum zwischen Minderbegabung und Hochbegabung, sondern auch auf migrationsbedingte kulturelle Vielfalt und Sprachbeherrschung, auf Medienkonsum und Freizeitverhalten, auf Unterschiede zwischen Mädchen und Jungen, auf Kinder mit oder ohne Behinderungen, also auf all die Differenzierungen, die sich materiell, kulturell und sozial abbilden“. In der vorliegenden Arbeit möchte ich untersuchen, wie der Umgang mit der Heterogenität in zwei unterschiedlichen Schulsystemen ist, dem Kirgisischen und dem Deutschen. Dafür werde ich als erstes das kirgisische Schulsystem beschreiben. Danach möchte ich anschauen, welche Lerngruppen in Kirgistan gebildet werden und welche Möglichkeiten des Chancenausgleiches für die kirgisischen Schüler bestehen. Als nächstes möchte ich beschreiben, wodurch die Heterogenität in den deutschen Schulen gekennzeichnet ist. Dabei ist es wichtig zu unterscheiden, ob man über die Grundschule oder über die Sekundarstufe spricht. Die Grundschule ist nicht so oft untersucht worden und dient als Vorbild der Schule im Bereich der „Heterogenität in der Schule“. Bei genauerer Betrachtung möchte ich wissen, ob dies wirklich so ist. Ich werde auf die Probleme der Kinder mit Migrationshintergrung näher eingehen. Danach wird das Bild von Schülern einer Schulart der Sekundarstufe ausführlich dargestellt. Am Ende möchte ich einen Fazit ziehen, wofür die Bildung heute dienen soll und ob „die Kinder und Jugendlichen für die Praxis des Lebens in der Demokratie qualifiziert“ werden.

Die fehlende Professionalität der Schulführung und Schulaufsicht erschweren die Arbeitsbedingungen noch zusätzlich.“ St. Galler Tagblatt, 20.09.2001) Dieses Zitat aus dem St. Galler Tagblatt zeigt eine deutliche Sichtweise auf das Phänomen der Heterogenität in Schulen: Heterogenität wird als Belastung für die Aufgabe eines Lehrers angesehen und wird damit zu einem Problem an Schulen allgemein. Diese Sichtweise ist es, die Heterogenität an Schulen immer mehr ins Blickfeld der Diskussion rückt, welche angesichts der Ergebnisse in Vergleichsstudien wie PISA oder TIMMS zum aktuellen Tagesgeschehen gehört. Heterogenität an Schulen ist jedoch kein neues Phänomen. Vielmehr gehört sie seit jeher zum Alltag an Schulen,wächst jedoch aufgrund von Globalisierungsprozessen zu einer neuen Größe heran. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, herauszustellen was genau der Begriff Heterogenität an deutschen Schulen eigentlich bedeutet, in welchen Bereichen Heterogenität relevant ist und wie man ihr begegnet, bzw. begegnen kann. Zunächst erfolgt hierfür eine Begriffsklärung, die den modernen Gebrauch von „Heterogenität“ im Bezug auf das Schulwesen charakterisiert (Kapitel 2). Hieran schließt sich eine Darstellung der Bedeutung von Heterogenität für die institutionalisierte Bildung an, wobei hierfür vorab die wesentlichen Merkmale institutionalisierter Bildung erläutert werden, um sie von lebensweltlicher Bildung zu unterscheiden (Kapitel 3.1). Anschließend werden die Aufgaben und Funktionen institutionalisierter Bildung beschrieben (Kapitel 3.2), um dann die verschiedenen Kategorien von Heterogenität aufzuzeigen (Kapitel 3.3). Der nächste Punkt umfasst die Möglichkeiten des Umgangs mit Heterogenität. Hierfür werden zunächst die beobachtbaren Formen des aktuellen und historischen Umgangs mit Heterogenität aufgezeigt (Kapitel 4.1), an die mit der Skizzierung des „Managing Diversity“, bzw. „Learning Diversity“ ein konkreter Ansatz zum positiven Umgang mit Heterogenität anschließt (Kapitel 4.2). Die Arbeit schließt mit einem zusammenfassenden Fazit ab (Kapitel 5).
