Book excerpt: In simple and easy-to-understand workbook language with fill-in-the-blanks, author Rich Brott explains that financially, you must live below your means. If you have been living above your means, you are already in serious debt with no hope of becoming debt free unless you quickly change your financial habits. If you have been living within your means, you may be debt free, but you have little or no savings or investments to carry you through your retirement. What you must begin to do is live below your means. The book will show you how to do just that. Once you've accomplished the basics of getting out of debt, staying out of debt and continuing to live below your means, then the next big hurtle is to set financial goals that will keep you invested in simple, well-diversified, conservative investment vehicles. The only way to reach a financial goal is to work at it. The most important step in reaching that goal is to develop a plan to achieve it. That's why it is so important to plan ahead for your retirement and your financial future. While the idea of planning ahead and building a solid financial strategy for success can sometimes be intimidating and overwhelming, once you get started, it will become easier. With a little planning and a better understanding of what your investment options are, you too can successfully manage your money and pursue your financial goals.

God taught him how to have abundance in the area of finances. Andrew discusses the influence of money in our lives and how it is very real. He teaches that Jesus taught more about managing resources than He did on prayer or even faith. He exposes the manipulation that sometimes goes on with Christian ministers and how you can be immune from it. Andrew Wommack's message is clear that even though there are abuses in the body of Christ regarding money, that you can still benefit from the truths in God s Word about finances. He believes that by fixing your heart that you deal with the root cause of financial situations and then money will take care of itself. Once your heart is right, using wisdom in how you spend your money comes naturally.

Why is this? One reason is that they may have heard about giving financially to support the mission of the church, but not heard much about the many other things the Bible teaches about money. Greg Huber, the founder of a small Christian financial planning ministry, delves into the Bible’s tremendous financial wisdom in this study guide for Christians who want to know more about what God says about money and apply this wisdom to their lives. Whether individually, as a couple, or in a small group, this book will help you to learn how to: • analyze Bible verses to understand what the Lord says about money in areas such as stewardship, generosity, caring for the poor, debt, lending, saving, investing, tithing, wealth, and contentment; • understand how God wants Christians to approach money in daily life; • save and invest money as you strive to help others and cultivate a closer relationship with God. What the Bible teaches about money applies to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances. Put biblical wisdom to work for you and your loved ones with the practical insights in this guide to managing money.

How can we be liberated from materialism? What should we do about debt? How much does God want us to give? How can we best help the poor and reach the lost? What about gambling? Investing? Insurance? Saving? Retirement? Inheritance? How can we leave our children a true heritage? How can we use money in ways that God rewards? This practical and refreshing theology of money contains topical and Scripture indexes, a study guide, and five helpful appendices.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible presents a seemingly inconsistent teaching on financial stewardship. This apparent confusion is reflected in sermons, books and journal articles. Advocates abound for (1) tithing, for (2) tithing plus giving, for (3) no tithing but gracious giving. Church leaders clearly need money, but how to convince the people in the pews to be faithful stewards of God with their finances remains allusive. If they preach tithing, some may balk at the Old Testament basis for the doctrine. If they proclaim that tithing is a Christian duty and a starting point only for genuine giving, others may claim that they are "New Testament Christians" and live under grace not law. If they present no definitive teaching about the Bible and money, adequate finances may not be given. At the heart of the problem lies the need to clarify the biblical doctrine of financial stewardship. This book attempts that goal. The author investigates the tithing patterns of the Old Testament prior to the giving of the Mosaic Law and within the Mosaic Law. With these matters clarified, he then shines the light on intertestamental Judaism and the passages in the Gospels that mention tithing as part of the Old Testament economy. A remarkable consistency is discovered at the level of biblical theology. Finally, the New Testament Church giving patterns are thoroughly investigated beginning with the early Jerusalem Church and extending throughout the known world. Continuity and discontinuity appear continuity in biblical theology and discontinuity in custom and legal requirements between the Old and New Testaments. The biblical doctrine of financial stewardship and the divine mandate for the Christian become clear. The last two chapters of the book transfer the biblical teaching to the 21st century American church scene. Theological and practical considerations are presented without trying to "legislate" solutions.
