This book was released on 2017-03-30 with total page 910 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the course of seven days, Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda captivated an eager audience with his commentary on the Shreemad Bhagavatam, extracting the essence of its message and deepening the understanding and experience of everyone present. This book is the result of that event. About the Shreemad Bhagavatam: Despite being compiled long ago by Sage Veda Vyasa, the Shreemad Bhagavatam’s message is very relevant today for it describes the powerful connection to the Divine presence that resides within the heart of every human being. Its verses prove that whenever humanity is most in need, the Divine manifests Itself on Earth to answer the call of the sincere devotees, and to re-establish balance, right action, and the life-affirming power of Divine Love. Paramahamsa Vishwananda’s commentary gives an enlightening spiritual context to these stories of men and women, kings and beggars, avatars and demons, and seamlessly connects them to the deeper issues and questions that concern all of us today: life purpose, responsibility, honesty, jealousy, pride, ego, stewardship of the Earth, and much more.

Book Synopsis The Authorised Bhagavatam by : ISKCON Revival Movement
Download or read book The Authorised Bhagavatam written by ISKCON Revival Movement and published by ISKCON Revival Movement. This book was released on 2023-04-01 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After Srila Prabhupada's physical departure on 14th November, 1977, the following occurred: 1) Taking advantage of this departure, 11 men immediately usurped Srila Prabhupada's position as the diksa guru of ISKCON. 2) One of the 11 men who did this was HH Hridayananda Dasa Goswami ("HD"). He then went on, from around 1980 until 1982, to complete Srila Prabhupada's Srimad-Bhagavatam, by giving his own translations and purports on cantos 10 (after chapter 13), 11 and 12, which will be referred to as "HD's Bhagavatam". However, as we proved in our book, The Final Order, there is no record of Srila Prabhupada having given an order for HD and the others to take his position as ISKCON's diksa guru. Thus, event 1 was unauthorised. In this book, we will show that Srila Prabhupada similarly gave no order for HD to complete his Bhagavatam, and thus HD's Bhagavatam is also unauthorised. In addition, we will show that a group which has made it a mission to promote HD's Bhagavatam as bona fide must, by their own arguments, also reject it as being unauthorised.

Book excerpt: Abandoned to desolation and inquietude of mind, smitten by fleeting senses and restlessness, and author of the Vedas, Puranas, and scriptures on mysteries and secrets of creation, knowledge of the Supreme Self, divine love, devotion, and yoga, Maharshi Vyasadeva was in earnest quest for peace, bliss, and joy. His divinely ordained rendezvous with Devarshi Narada set the backdrop for the revelation of Srimad Bhagavatam in a hundred verses to soothe his wincing heart. His born sannyasi son Sri Shukadeva retold Srimad Bhagavatam, as learned from his father, to the righteous and spiritual king Parikshita in Dvapara Yuga on the banks of the holy river, Ganges, who was cursed to death by the bite of the serpent king Takshyaka. Srimad Bhagavatam, in all its grandeur and splendour, is an ever-glowning ornate jewel in the crown of the unfailingly finality of wisdom and an epitome of the integration of karma, jnana, and bhakti in Indian spiritual tradition.

This book was released on 1972-12-31 with total page 1403 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Srimad-Bhagavatam, an epic philosophical and literary classic, holds a prominent position in India's voluminous written wisdom. The timeless wisdom of India is expressed in the Vedas, ancient Sanskrit texts that touches upon all fields of human knowledge. Originally preserved through oral tradition, the Vedas were first put into writing by Srila Vyasadeva, the "literary incarnation of God." After compiling the Vedas, Srila Vyasadeva was inspired by his spiritual master to present their profound essence in the form of Srimad-Bhagavatam. Known as "the ripened fruit of the tree of Vedic literature," Srimad-Bhagavatam is the most complete and authoritative exposition of Vedic knowledge. After writing the Bhagavatam, Vyasa taught it to his son, Shukadeva Goswami, who later spoke the Bhagavatam to Maharaja Parikshit in an assembly of sages on the bank of the sacred Ganges River. Although Maharaja Parikshit was a great rajarshi (saintly king) and the emperor of the world, when he received notice of his death seven days in advance, he renounced his entire kingdom and retired to the bank of the Ganges to seek spiritual enlightenment. The questions of King Parikshit and Shukadeva Goswami's illuminating answers, concerning everything from the nature of the self to the origin of the universe, are the basis of Srimad-Bhagavatam. This edition of Bhagavatam is the only complete English translation with an elaborate and scholarly commentary, and it is the first edition widely available to the English-reading public. This work is the product of the scholarly and devotional effort of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the world's most distinguished teacher of Indian religious and philosophical thought. His Sanskrit scholarship and intimate familiarity with Vedic culture combine to reveal to the West a magnificent exposition of this important classic.
