Book excerpt: The purpose of this book, “Before Creation, Planet Life, After Life,” is to cause readers, especially Christians, to search for a broader perspective of Scriptures referencing man’s existence before and after death. I hope this work will initiate more thought as to when, where, and how we fit into God’s mind and final plans for us. If we embark upon this search looking at Scripture through traditional lenses, we will miss seeing the things of God, by the faith of God. He is the one who invited us saying, “If any man lacks wisdom (knowledge on any subject), let him ask of God who gives to all men liberally (holds nothing back from us)!” Yet, there are many church leaders who warn their parishioners against asking God questions concerning those things which plague their souls, even though the book of Job is a good example that God is not intimidated by our questions. Considering Job’s experience and reverence for God, while searching for answers, I believe the result of our seeking and asking will bring us the comfort and steadfastness that we so desperately need in our times of sorrow and disconnectedness. It may give us that “blessed assurance” that we have been, are, and will be “forever with the Lord!” We’re not strangers to Him, because He said that He chose us in Him (knew us) “before the foundation of the world” was laid. (Ephesians 1:4)

Book excerpt: Have you ever wondered why there is such a huge discrepancy between what scientists say about the age of our planet and what the Bible says? According to scientists, the planet is 4.6 billion years old. Yet the Bible says that this planet Earth is only six thousand years old. But what if both were right? What if there was an analysis of creation that combined science with scripture in the search for truthyielding a unique and provocative conclusion about lifes beginning? In The Re-Creation of Planet Earth and the Real Account of Lifes Beginnings, author Brian Donnelly explores just this integration of science and biblical truth to provide a more realistic account of creation and re-creation. He addresses the ongoing debate between creation science and evolutionary biology, and he shows how creation is more viable than evolutionary theory and the big bang. The Re-Creation of the Planet Earth and the Real Account of Lifes Beginnings also speaks to the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, and it provides a detailed description of what heaven is likean account supported by scripture and near-death experiences. Having a complete view of creation, re-creation, heaven, and lifes beginnings will help you better understand how God relates to us today. But even more, this understanding can go on to help you see through the fog of the world and better relate to God as a believer.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Life, as we know it, will end. It’s not a thought that tends to occupy our minds when we are young and in full health and vigor. We take risks, some foolhardy. We live as though we were immortal. And then when we have our own children we are renewed and life is good. But we can’t look in the mirror every day without noticing subtle signs of change. We can’t lose a loved one without reflecting on the passage of time and being nagged by the question, “What is it in life that I have yet to accomplish?” Then it’s not a giant leap from asking that question about ourselves to wanting to know “What happens when I die?” Brian Stiller, author of When Life Hurts took on the task of answering this challenging question. Where is the proof that anything is going to happen after death? Why not just live life for the day, because that may be all there is? What Happens When I Die? is a journey toward understanding the nature of life after death, one that leads ultimately to the Scriptures and the promise given by God. It is a promise rooted in faith and joy. It is a promise that has everything to do with what we make of our life here on earth. What Happens When I Die? is not just about death, but about living a fulfilled, loving and caring life. The choice is ultimately ours to seek and God’s gift—or not. But the way had been prepared as this insightful and thought-provoking book affirms

Why is there anything at all? We can see and touch planet Earth, organic man, animals and nature's greenery, and we are aware of our universe. Yet its creation and purpose, energy and organisation of matter and the evolution of species leave multitudes of questions unanswered. Robert for years agonised over Darwin's inability to explain how genetic evolution works or how over vast periods of time the needs for species to change were recognised, how machinery in the evolution system for making the changes itself evolved, or for putting the changes in place. He began to compile a theory addressing the 'how', researching the findings of dozens of scientists over recent centuries, dissecting their theories to draw comparisons with his own to here present his compelling, logical thesis. Book excerpt: The One Planet Life demonstrates a path for everyone towards a way of life in which we don’t act as if we had more than one planet Earth. The difference between this approach and others is that it uses ecological footprint analysis to help to determine how effective our efforts are. Much of the book is a manual – with examples – on how to live the 'good life' and supply over 65% of your livelihood from your land with mostly positive impacts upon the environment. It examines the pioneering Welsh policy, One Planet Development, then considers efforts towards one planet living in urban areas. After a foreword by BioRegional/One Planet Living co-founder Pooran Desai and an introduction by former Welsh environment minister Jane Davidson, the book contains: An essay arguing that our attitude to planning, land and development needs to change to enable truly sustainable development. Guidelines on finding land, finance, and creating a personal plan for one planet living. Detailed guides on: sustainable building, supplying your own food, generating renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions from travel, land management, water supply and waste treatment. 20 exemplary examples at all scales – from micro-businesses to suburbs – followed by Jane Davidson’s Afterword. The book will interest anyone seeking to find out how a sustainable lifestyle can be achieved. It is also key reading for rural and built environment practitioners and policy makers keen to support low impact initiatives, and for students studying aspects of planning, geography, governance, sustainability and renewable energy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Because every single one of us will die, most of us would like to know what—if anything—awaits us afterward, not to mention the fate of lost loved ones. Given the nearly universal vested interest in deciding this question in favor of an afterlife, it is no surprise that the vast majority of books on the topic affirm the reality of life after death without a backward glance. But the evidence of our senses and the ever-gaining strength of scientific evidence strongly suggest otherwise. In The Myth of an Afterlife: The Case against Life after Death, Michael Martin and Keith Augustine collect a series of contributions that redress this imbalance in the literature by providing a strong, comprehensive, and up-to-date casebook of the chief arguments against an afterlife. Divided into four separate sections, this collection opens with a broad overview of the issues, as contributors consider the strongest evidence of whether or not we survive death—in particular the biological basis of all mental states and their grounding in brain activity that ceases to function at death. Next, contributors consider a host of conceptual and empirical difficulties that confront the various ways of “surviving” death—from bodiless minds to bodily resurrection to any form of posthumous survival. Then essayists turn to internal inconsistencies between traditional theological conceptions of an afterlife—heaven, hell, karmic rebirth—and widely held ethical principles central to the belief systems supporting those notions. In the final section, authors offer critical evaluations of the main types of evidence for an afterlife. Fully interdisciplinary, The Myth of an Afterlife: The Case against Life after Death brings together a variety of fields of research to make that case, including cognitive neuroscience, philosophy of mind, personal identity, philosophy of religion, moral philosophy, psychical research, and anomalistic psychology. As the definitive casebook of arguments against life after death, this collection is required reading for any instructor, researcher, and student of philosophy, religious studies, or theology. It is sure to raise provocative issues new to readers, regardless of background, from those who believe fervently in the reality of an afterlife to those who do not or are undecided on the matter.

They solicit help from a young earth boy and after telling him about their planet he agrees to help. They are joined by a leadership personality and an intellectual personality from the far away planet. They begin a fantasy journey to learn about immortality and the afterlife from any source available. They have the ability to visit any time and any place in their search for things that have been written or spoken. They discover things that are known by religions about creation and the beginning of life and about the afterlife but cannot understand some of them. They are joined by a faith personality from their planet who has perceived their confusion. These six distinctly different personalities explore information from various sources and discuss some ramifications of their findings. They learn doctrines and theories about creation and immortality and the many forms that afterlife might take. They search for and find truth in many forms. The story is not only about finding information but also the thought processes involved to understand the information. An important facet of the story is the fact that non-humans think differently than humans and ask different questions. This story is about the acceptance of truth. The strongest and most adventuresome personality develops some fears and anxiety about religious sacrifices but is persuaded to continue the quest. After search for the “afterlife” has generated more question than answers they turn to a search for the “meaning of life”. The story is about their adventures and their conclusions regarding religion and the meaning of life. The story is told using playful and sometimes irreverent dialogue. The tale is made more interesting with the inclusion of illustrations by the very talented artist Penny Moroney. 1

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Can you imagine swapping your body for a virtual version? This technology-based look at the afterlife chronicles America's fascination with death and reveals how digital immortality may become a reality. The Internet has reinvented the paradigm of life and death: social media enables a discourse with loved ones long after their deaths, while gaming sites provide opportunities for multiple lives and life forms. In this thought-provoking work, author Kevin O'Neill examines America's concept of afterlife—as imagined in cyberspace—and considers how technologies designed to emulate immortality present serious challenges to our ideas about human identity and to our religious beliefs about heaven and hell. The first part of the work—covering the period between 1840 and 1860—addresses post-mortem photography, cemetery design, and spiritualism. The second section discusses Internet afterlife, including online memorials and cemeteries; social media legacy pages; and sites that curate passwords, bequests, and final requests. The work concludes with chapters on the transhumanist movement, the philosophical and religious debates about Internet immortality, and the study of technologies attempting to extend life long after the human form ceases.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Where do the unrighteous go after death? What is the plight of the guilty after the Day of Judgment? Are places like heaven, hell, and the lake of fire physical locations in the universe? Biblically based and scientifically reasoned answers to these questions, and more, lead to locating the planet Venus as one possible place for perdition. The book Venus: Don't Go There-What Science and Religion Reveal about Life after Death reviews past and present discoveries and provides future evidence for alliance between the physical sciences and the Bible. God ordained the sciences and religion to work together for the common good and to lead toward a comprehensive understanding of the future. Correlation between the Holy Scriptures and the sciences can work together to provide reasonable and meaningful truths. Through interdisciplinary study, the author deduces the ultimate destiny for unsaved humanity could be within the solar system, while providing a unique perspective to life after death.
