Im darauffolgenden dritten Kapitel werden aufbauend auf den allgemeinen Informationen zur Klinischen Sozialarbeit die spezifischen Aufgaben und Methoden von Sozialarbeitenden sowie die Arbeit in einem multiprofessionellen Team in der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie erläutert. Anschließend werden die verschiedenen Arten, Prävalenzen und auslösenden sowie aufrechterhaltenden Faktoren psychiatrischer Erkrankungen bei Kindern und Jugendlichen beschrieben. Im vierten Kapitel erfolgt eine Darstellung theoretischer Grundlagen der Klinischen Sozialarbeit sowie der Arbeit in der Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie anhand des biopsychosozialen Modells als ein Verständnis zur Entstehung und Aufrechterhaltung von Gesundheit und Krankheit. Im Rahmen des fünften Kapitels werden das Hilfeplanverfahren und das Schnittstellenmanagement im Zusammenhang mit der Relevanz einer koordinierenden Klinischen Sozialarbeit erörtert. Anhand des im darauffolgenden Kapitel erörterten Fallbeispiels aus der Praxis einer Kinder- und Jugendpsychiatrie wird die Relevanz der sozialarbeiterischen Tätigkeit in Bezug auf die Installation von Hilfesystemen und die Unterstützung und Vernetzung von Betroffenen im Sinne des Schnittstellen- und des Entlassmanagements aufgezeigt. Anschließend werden aktuelle empirische Forschungsergebnisse bezüglich des Schnittstellen- und des Entlassmanagements mittels der "ASpeKT"-Studie von Boege et. al. aus dem Jahr 2020 erbracht und diskutiert. Das sechste Kapitel beinhaltet ein abschließendes Fazit sowie die Beantwortung der Forschungsfrage.

Regulationsstörungen sind ein weit verbreitetes Störungsbild in der frühen Kindheit. Ein solches Störungsbild liegt vor, wenn Säuglinge bzw. Kinder sich in ihrem Verhaltens-, Erlebens- und Gefühlszustand nur unzureichend selbst regulieren können. Entstehungsbedingungen finden sich sowohl im kindlichen Bereich, als auch bedingt durch elterliche sowie umweltbezogene Faktoren. Besonders einflussreich ist die Wechselbeziehung zwischen Kind und primärer Bezugsperson, seien es nun fehlende Kompetenzen auf Seiten der Eltern oder Auffälligkeiten des Kindes, welche nicht zu einer gemeinsamen, funktionalen Regulation führen. Stattdessen kommt es zu einem Teufelskreis an Dysfunktionalität zwischen beiden, sodass der Säugling nicht beruhigt werden kann, negative Rückkopplungssignale an die Eltern gesendet werden, die wiederum Schuldgefühle und Ärger entwickeln, was sich im Rückschluss nochmals auf ihre Regulationshilfen und das Erleben des Kindes auswirkt. Interventionen, wie Entlastungsgespräche, Entwicklungsberatung in Form von Psychoedukation, Förderung des Säuglings und Eltern-Kind/Säuglings-Therapie, erzielen zunehmende Behandlungswirkung. Die Klinische Sozialarbeit, mit ihrem weitgreifenden Fokus auf das bio-psycho-soziale Gesundheitsverständnis könnte in der Behandlung, vor allem bezogen auf soziale Faktoren, eine bedeutsame Unterstützung bieten.
