Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dear readers, owing to the coronavirus outbreak we have been falling on hard times in these days. As humanity, we will overcome this obstacle by consciously struggling. When it is all over, maybe we will raise the proper awareness for the old order of the history of mankind and our planet which is our home. And yet, we gratefully appreciate our doctors and all health care personnel who persevere for our well-being. We are also grateful for our artists who have been feeding our souls with their music on the internet since we must stay at home in order to be protected from the spreading of virus. Concert halls and entertainment venues were the first places that have been shut down in order to prevent the outbreak of the coronavirus. During this difficult situation, we share our expectation that Mr Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the Ministry of Culture could interfere in the crisis to create financial sport programmes for the artists who were adversely affected from the outbreak having to delay their schedules. As usual, the tenth issue of Makam Music Periodical is authentic and full of new material. The spring edition contains various articles from precious artists in which they share sequences from their glamorous careers... See you in healthy days …

Download or read book Iron in the Soul written by Peter Loizos and published by Berghahn Books. This book was released on 2008 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In his vivid, lively account of how Greek Cypriot villagers coped with a thirty-year displacement, Peter Loïzos follows a group of people whom he encountered as prosperous farmers in 1968, yet found as disoriented refugees when revisiting in 1975. By providing a forty year in-depth perspective unusual in the social sciences, this study yields unconventional insights into the deeper meanings of displacement. It focuses on reconstruction of livelihoods, conservation of family, community, social capital, health (both physical and mental), religious and political perceptions. The author argues for a closer collaboration between anthropology and the life sciences, particularly medicine and social epidemiology, but suggests that qualitative life-history data have an important role to play in the understanding of how people cope with collective stress.

Book Synopsis Political Messaging in Music and Entertainment Spaces across the Globe. Volume 2. by : Uche Onyebadi
Download or read book Political Messaging in Music and Entertainment Spaces across the Globe. Volume 2. written by Uche Onyebadi and published by Vernon Press. This book was released on 2022-09-20 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'Political Messaging in Music and Entertainment Spaces across the Globe' uniquely expands the frontiers of political communication by simultaneously focusing on content (political messaging) and platform (music and entertainment). As a compendium of valuable research work, it provides rich insights into the construction of political messages and their dissemination outside of the traditional and mainstream structural, process and behavioral research focus in the discipline. Researchers, teachers, students and other interested parties in political communication, political science, journalism and mass communication, sociology, music, languages, linguistics and the performing arts, communication studies, law and history, will find this book refreshingly handy in their inquiry. Furthermore, this book was conceptualized from a globalist purview and offers readers practical insights into how political messaging through music and entertainment spaces actually work across nation-states, regions and continents. Its authenticity is also further enhanced by the fact that most chapter contributors are scholars who are natives of their areas of study, and who painstakingly situate their work in appropriate historical contexts.
