Book excerpt: The tremendous growth of Latin American cities in the last few years has continued to aggravate a situation that has its roots in both the Spanish and Indian cultures. The Latin American, even more than the North American of the last century, has viewed the city as his one and only hope for a future. This has led to a concentration of 30% or more of the population of any given country being packed together in and around the largest city, usually the capital. If we are going to win Latin America for Christ, then we need to develop some methods and systems whereby we can reach out to these ever-expanding cities and touch the people where they live. The pages that follow are a compilation of ideas and dreams that, seared with the hot coals of reality, have been growing and developing in my heart over the past few years. I would like to express my appreciation to Don Kammerdiener for his suggestions which focused my attention on this need. I would also be remised if I did not mention all the people with whom I have worked and who participated in the development of this project. These are my wife, my missionary co-laborers, and my fellow church members who dared to dream with me and see those dreams become a reality. I believe this method is not limited to this one location but could and should be used in every urban setting in Latin America, if not the world.

Book excerpt: From time to time most companies, teams, businesses, and families go back to basics. Returning to basics strengthens the foundation, renews awareness, and helps create a new surge of forwardness today. The church is no different. Jesus promised to "build His church" and therefore not only built it but is also the head, foundation, and savior. In our quest to increase church awareness, membership, growth, and meet the needs of a changing culture, congregations sometimes drift off the core foundation. This dynamic book is designed to return to the basics. In two major sections: I Back to the Core Basics for the churches identity and back to the 7-Es Mission of the Church, it offers an exciting and sound biblical approach. There are questions at the end of each lesson. It is a book the whole congregations needs to study and apply.

Book Synopsis The Honest Guide to Church Planting by : Tom Bennardo
Download or read book The Honest Guide to Church Planting written by Tom Bennardo and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2019-08-13 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Church planting has become a cottage industry. National conferences, hip planting organizations, and all-in-one resource kits celebrate the thrill of pioneering a church and inspire visions of glorious victories. Yet few who respond to the call are warned what they'll actually encounter: the relentless opposition they'll endure; the eventual scattering of their entire core group; the failure of their tried-and-true, field-tested system. Here's the dirty little secret of church planting: the roadside is strewn with casualties. Many have closed their churches. Some left ministry permanently. Others abandoned the faith altogether. Church planting is at once the greatest and most grueling ministry work on earth. This book is for those toiling in the trenches, those about to bail out, and those considering jumping in. It's for the church planters laboring and struggling, seeing little movement, and wondering what they're doing wrong or why God is failing them. It's also for mother churches, planting organizations, and denominations, as a challenge to rethink and re-calibrate the way they approach and measure planting endeavors. The Honest Guide to Church Planting is a fresh and candid conversation about the challenges and joys of planting new churches. Tom Bennardo speaks the truth so that those involved in church planting can embrace a more accurate and realistic picture of what planting a church is really like; one that not only enables them to survive, but to thrive in this wondrous work.

Download or read book Organic Church written by Neil Cole and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2007-06-15 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Churches have tried all kinds of ways to attract new and younger members - revised vision statements, hipper worship, contemporary music, livelier sermons, bigger and better auditoriums. But there are still so many people who aren't being reached, who don't want to come to church. And the truth is that attendance at church on Sundays does not necessarily transform lives; God's presence in our hearts is what changes us. Leaders and laypeople everywhere are realizing that they need new and more powerful ways to help them spread God's Word. According to international church starter and pastor Neil Cole, if we want to connect with young people and those who are not coming to church, we must go where people congregate. Cole shows readers how to plant the seeds of the Kingdom of God in the places where life happens and where culture is formed - restaurants, bars, coffeehouses, parks, locker rooms, and neighborhoods. Organic Church offers a hands-on guide for demystifying this new model of church and shows the practical aspects of implementing it.
Download or read book Future Church written by Will Mancini and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2020-12-01 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Church growth models have often been long on promises and short on disciple-making. We continue to watch consistent church attendance shrink, and our desire to reach the lost is infected with a need for self-validation by growing our numbers at any cost. If we believe that God wants his church to grow, where do we go from here? What is the future of the church? Drawing from his 20 years and 15,000 hours of consulting, author Will Mancini shares with pastors and ministry leaders the single most important insight he has learned about church growth. With plenty of salient stories and based solidly on the disciple-making methods found in Scripture, Future Church exposes the church's greatest challenge today, and offers 7 transforming laws of real church growth so that we can faithfully and joyfully fulfill Jesus's Great Commission.
Book Synopsis Church Marketing 101 by : Richard L. Reising
Download or read book Church Marketing 101 written by Richard L. Reising and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2006-01-01 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over 90 percent of all Christian churches in the United States have fewer than 200 members. While they vary in shape, size, ethnicity, and denomination, they have one thing in common: the desire to grow. So why is it that some churches fail to grow for years, while other congregations in the same community increase exponentially? The problem, says church marketing authority Richard Reising, is that most churches should not be doing promotion. Instead, they should focus on the preparation that will make members eager to invite others. In ChurchMarketing 101®, he demystifies basic marketing principles for the church, evaluates them against biblical principles, and illustrates how simple changes can remove roadblocks that hinder members from reaching out. Reising's simple yet insightful approach will be invaluable to pastors and ministry leaders from churches of all denominations and styles.

Book Synopsis Exploring Church Growth by : Wilbert R. Shenk
Download or read book Exploring Church Growth written by Wilbert R. Shenk and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2010-08-01 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the past twenty years the phenomenon of church growth--especially as it has been known under the dynamic leadership of Donald McGavran and the School of World Mission, Fuller Theological Seminary--has resulted in an impressive array of books, articles, reports, and theses. While freely acknowledging their debut to the church growth school, the contributors to this volume wish to explore further the premises, principles, and goals of church growth. Firmly convinced that church growth is more than empirical data and effective methods, and that there is nothing approaching a complete book of church growth, they aim not simply to offer definitive answers but rather to open up fresh lines of inquiry--historical, experiential, methodological, and theological. Thus, while interacting with previous studies, the authors view their work as a constructive contribution to the search for a more adequate understanding of church growth patterns. Contributors to this volume include Alfred C. Krass, Harvie M. Conn, Orlando E. Costas, John H. Yoder, Harry R. Boer, and C. RenŽ Padilla.
