Book Synopsis Synthesis of Chiral Rare Earth and Alkaline Earth Compounds by : Meng He
Download or read book Synthesis of Chiral Rare Earth and Alkaline Earth Compounds written by Meng He and published by Cuvillier Verlag. This book was released on 2016-08-16 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first chiral amidinate borohydride rare earth compounds and compounds based on (S)-HPEBA ((S,S)-N,N-bis-(1-phenylethyl)benzamidine) ligand were reported by Roesky et al. To continuing this work, the new chiral ligand (S)-HNEBA ((S,S)-N,N-bis-(1-naphthylethyl)benzamidine) were synthesized. The corresponding amidinate metal complexes were successfully obtained by amine elimination. The luminescent and magnetic properties of rare earth compounds were studied. Alkaline earth metal compounds have been extensively studied as catalysts in synthetic chemistry. However, chiral amidinate alkaline earth metal complexes have never been reported. Chiral amidinate ligand (S)-HPEBA was introduced into the coordination chemistry of the alkaline earth metal as well as divalent lanthanides, their catalytic activities in hydrophosphination have been investigated. The Ba compound showed high catalytic activities in the hydrophosphination reaction. Moreover, since rare earth metal COT complexes exhibit excellent SMM behavior, it is of great interest to study the magnetic behavior of COT amidinate complexes. Thus, amidine ligand (S)-HPEBA and (S)-HPETA are introduced into the corresponding COT amidinate complexes for magnetic properties studies. The Er Compound exhibited typical field-induced SMM behavior. Furthermore, inspired by the promising application of lanthanide SMMs and the research of SMMs based on sandwich type lanthanide complexes, a series of novel sandwich type complexes comprising of Pc and COT ligand were designed and synthesized.

Book Synopsis Quantitative Demography and Health Estimates by : Christos H Skiadas
Download or read book Quantitative Demography and Health Estimates written by Christos H Skiadas and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-09-17 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides new theoretic and applied material with focus on quantitative methods and data analysis techniques applied in demography, population studies, health issues and statistics. It discusses the quantitative techniques to estimate the healthy life expectancy by expanding the classical life tables to include the proportion with disability calculated from life tables, along with the Sullivan method. The provided templates apply immediately to the life tables from WHO, HMD, Eurostat and other life table providers. Furthermore, the book explores the possibility of creating new health indicators along with Covid-19 pandemic management, factors associated to loneliness and an alcohol indicator. Part of the book is devoted to mortality, epidemic models, and the supercentenarians age estimation. Data analysis and artificial intelligence methods are included to apply in demographic and socio-economic cases. By providing a methodology to cope with health problems in demography and society by quantifying important health parameters, this book is a valuable guide for researchers, theoreticians, and practitioners from various disciplines and especially health scientists, statisticians, economists, and sociologists.

This book was released on 1966 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The computer program presented in this report was developed to predict large deflection behavior of three-dimensional truss and frame assemblies. The solutions are obtained by the direct minimization of the total potential energy with respect to the displacement variables rather than by solving nonlinear matrix equations. Sample problems are presented to demonstrate the analysis capability developed. Instructions for the preparation of the input data and the Fortran IV source program listing are included.
