Download or read book Pre-Incident Indicators of Terrorist Incidents written by Brent L. Smith and published by DIANE Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 540 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a print on demand edition of a hard to find publication. Explores whether sufficient data exists to examine the temporal and spatial relationships that existed in terrorist group planning, and if so, could patterns of preparatory conduct be identified? About one-half of the terrorists resided, planned, and prepared for terrorism relatively close to their eventual target. The terrorist groups existed for 1,205 days from the first planning meeting to the date of the actual/planned terrorist incident. The planning process for specific acts began 2-3 months prior to the terrorist incident. This study examined selected terrorist groups/incidents in the U.S. from 1980-2002. It provides for the potential to identify patterns of conduct that might lead to intervention prior to the commission of the actual terrorist incidents. Illustrations.

Download or read book London Labour and the London Poor written by Henry Mayhew and published by Cosimo, Inc.. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Assembled from a series of newspaper articles first published in the newspaper *Morning Chronicle* throughout the 1840s, this exhaustively researched, richly detailed survey of the teeming street denizens of London is a work both of groundbreaking sociology and salacious voyeurism. In an 1850 review of the survey, just prior to its initial book publication, William Makepeace Thackeray called it "tale of terror and wonder" offering "a picture of human life so wonderful, so awful, so piteous and pathetic, so exciting and terrible, that readers of romances own they never read anything like to it." Delving into the world of the London "street-folk"-the buyers and sellers of goods, performers, artisans, laborers and others-this extraordinary work inspired the socially conscious fiction of Charles Dickens in the 19th century as well as the urban fantasy of Neil Gaiman in the late 20th. Volume I explores the lives of: the "wandering tribes" costermongers sellers of fish, fruits and vegetables sellers of books and stationery sellers of manufactured goods women and children on the streets and more. English journalist HENRY MAYHEW (1812-1887) was a founder and editor of the satirical magazine *Punch.*

Download or read book Keith Tyson written by Keith Tyson and published by Walther Konig Verlag. This book was released on 2009 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Keith Tyson's work can be seen as an ongoing investigation into the question of how things come into being. Many of them investigate the physical forms and systems found within the natural world; others examine the effects of mankind on the environment, and the ensuing man-made forms and systems. In other works, Tyson questions the creation of the artwork itself, positing it as something which can be randomly generated by systems, but simultaneously making us aware that these systems are generated by the artist. For the first time in a publication, Tyson's work is examined simultaneously from both an artistic, mathematical and spiritual position, providing a new insight into the artist's approach. Keith Tyson was born in 1969 in Ulverston (UK). He lives and works in Brighton and London, England.
