Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Officially incorporated in 1866, the site of Dallastown was once used as a parade ground by local militia during the Revolutionary War era. When James Peeling purchased 95 acres in the area in 1841, he set in motion the community's formation. In 1844, the town was officially named Dallastown, in honor of Philadelphia lawyer and vice president elect George M. Dallas. The final decades of the 19th century saw even more development for Dallastown. The first cigar factory in town opened in 1860, and by 1885, over 38 factories were in operation, creating new jobs, attracting new businesses, and more than doubling the population. Marking its sesquicentennial in 2016, the community of Dallastown continues to celebrate its borough and its unique history.

With the arrival of the year 1000 AE, the Crimson Fathers, aided by the Crimson Mother, have conquered the Tex’ahn lands. In Deiparia, the Crimson Fathers continue to rule unchallenged. The evil of the Crimson Fathers and the Crimson Mother leads Thorne, Hawkes, Warner, Tua, and two new resistance fighters—Jarkko Constantin Liikanen and Madia de Paiva—on a dangerous and life-altering journey to rescue Teska Vaun. A holy relic, the Iron Hand of Michael the Victorious, may offer hope and help, but as the final battle ensues our heroes must contend with their own terrors, the magical might of the Crimson Fathers, the Twelve Hells, and the deaths of those closest to them. Fans of Winterlight by Kristen Britain and The Empire’s Ruin by Brian Staveley will find a new favorite series in the Deiparian Saga. Filled with high-stakes magic, an eclectic group of adventurers, and plenty of witches, this action-packed quest for justice is a must-read for fans of epic fantasy and post-apocalyptic fiction.

Download or read book Bob & Earl written by David Lawrence and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2010-12-09 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a friendship spanning 60 years, Earl Smith and Bob DiMatteo reminisce about their lives, their families and their country. Longtime residents of Palmyra, a small town in Central Pennsylvania, they were born when the movies were silent and people were just becoming acquainted with the model T. They raised their children in a time and place where doors were unlocked and neighbors were family. They lived to understand Ipads and Avatar. Earl and Bob share stories of their family, work, and play. They had heroes like Babe Ruth, Dwight Eisenhower, Amos and Andy, Lowell Thomas, Dick Tracy, Tom Mix and Milton Hershey. What Gone with the Wind was to Atlanta, Bob and Earl is to Palmyra. It is a time that will never be again. This book is a dramatic reminder of just why the millions of Bobs and Earls along with their wives Lennie and Cas were proud unsung members of the Greatest Generation, the generation that made America strong. With steely focus, Bob and Earl, and their peers across the United States, built a better nation, one community at a time
