Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tyler Wood was a successful professional, a dynamic athlete, and a happy family man. This young Texan evolved from a high school and college leader to an award-winning professional with a family he loved, a luxury home - everything he'd ever wanted, all before he was thirty years old. Suffering from the Father Wound - a psychological injury inflicted by a father who knew no better - Tyler was deeply, emotionally crippled. He lost everything - family, business, and home - and reached a point of profound depression only seconds from killing himself. A supernatural miracle of God knocked him sideways in his soul. Tyler tells his story with complete honesty, holding back nothing. The most intimate details of his thunderous fall from grace are revealed with shocking vulnerability. He tells the very personal story of how men are identifying the Father Wound and healing and changing their lives. Tyler introduces Rock Bottom Outreach, a ministry devoted to being the hands and feet of Jesus. Meet founder Rick Smith and some of the courageous men and women ministering to anyone who has hit rock bottom with the same love and compassion modeled by Jesus when he walked upon the earth. The Rock Bottom Outreach team aspires to put its faith in action by serving those in need without regard to how they fell into their difficult circumstances. They meet the brokenhearted right where they are and stand in the gap for those who have nowhere else to turn. Rock Bottom Outreach welcomes those who need restoration from rock bottom or feel they have been called to serve others who have. Not a church, with no physical facility, this dynamic team relies solely on volunteers to carry out the work they are called to do in His name.

It starts out with the mammogram and further testing and continues with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. I was fortunate to have a less-invasive type of cancer and didnt need the kind of chemotherapy that makes your hair fall out, but I still had problems. I am a nurse, but I was unaware of most of the processes involved in the treatment of breast cancer. I did learn a lot about diagnosis, testing, and prognosis of different types of breast cancer. I also learned a lot about being the patient and how easy it is to get lost in the shuffle. The treatment has become routine for some of the caregivers, and it is easy to get treated like a disease and not a person. I wanted to share my experience to hopefully help others be able to fight for and demand the best treatment for themselves.

Book excerpt: Society says youth is a time for carefree self-expression, but Trip Lee says God has called everyone to RISE from slumber, above low expectations, and to live for the risen King. The world tells us that our early years are to be irresponsibly enjoyed rather than devoted to meaningful pursuits. We’re told that responsibility and commitment are burdens to be put off as long as possible. And so, most of us spend our youth in a sad state of slumber—sleeping in on life until we’re forced to get up. The problem is that life has already begun. It’s happening right now. And God has called you to live it. In this powerful book, Trip Lee argues it’s time to wake up and RISE, to live the way we were created to live. Young or old, we’ve been called to live for Him. Right now. Young believers face the same problems as older Christians, but they feel them in unique ways. RISE addresses those core problems in an engaging, profound, and life-changing way. Don't just sit there: RISE!

Book excerpt: Is it possible that good things can come out of our broken dreams? Worship leader and recording artist Laura Story’s life took an unexpected turn when her husband, Martin, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Their lives would never be the same. Yes, with God all things are possible. But the devastating news was that no cure existed to restore Martin’s short-term memory, eyesight, and other complications. The fairy-tale life Laura had dreamed of was no longer possible. And yet in struggling with God about how to live with broken dreams, Laura has found joy and a deeper intimacy with Jesus. In When God Doesn’t Fix It, Laura helps you understand that: We aren’t the only ones whose lives have taken unexpected turns Even heroes of our faith experienced brokenness Despite our flaws and stories, God can use us in extraordinary ways God may not fix everything. In fact, although your situation might not ever change or get better, with Jesus you can. Not because of your faith, but because of the faithfulness of God.

Book excerpt: The incredible memoir from the man voted one of the “Best Umpires of All Time” by the Society of American Baseball Research—filled with more than three decades of fascinating baseball stories. Doug Harvey was a California farm boy, a high school athlete who nevertheless knew that what he really wanted was to become an unsung hero—a major league umpire. Working his way through the minor leagues, earning three hundred dollars a month, he survived just about everything, even riots in stadiums in Puerto Rico. And while players and other umps hit the bars at night, Harvey memorized the rule book. In 1962, he broke into the big leagues and was soon listening to rookie Pete Rose worrying that he would be cut by the Reds and laying down the law with managers such as Tommy Lasorda and Joe Torre. This colorful memoir takes you behind the plate for some of baseball’s most memorable moments, including Roberto Clemente’s three thousandth and final hit; the heroic three-and-two pinch-hit home run by Kirk Gibson in the ’88 World Series; and the nail-biting excitement of the ’68 World Series. But beyond the drama, Harvey turned umpiring into an art. He was a man so respected, whose calls were so feared and infallible, that the players called him “God.” And through it all, he lived by three rules: never take anything from a player, never back down from a call, and never carry a grudge. A book for anyone who loves baseball, They Called Me God is a funny and fascinating tale of on- and off-the-field action, peopled by unforgettable characters from Bob Gibson to Nolan Ryan, and a treatise on good umpiring techniques. In a memoir that transcends the sport, Doug Harvey tells a gripping story of responsibility, fairness, and honesty.

David Lee takes a look into what most teenagers grow up subjected to in today's peer pressures. David Lee uniquely shows how people of faith still fall into the tragedy's and mishaps of today's world. Three best friends struggle to make a connection between the God their parents praise and the God they can't see. A father who ignores his son only to hide behind his love of God, a mother left to raise her children alone due to a murderous husband, and a man of God who cant decide if he can be committed to only having one woman in his life while his wife drifts into depression. Three families, and three teenage best friends, who are left to wonder the streets of the big city hungry for adventure and starving for attention. Adultery, sibling rivalry, and drugs and alcohol all make up the chemistry of David Lee The blood of "my will". Deception and murder leads to a point where one must choose to turn their faith to God, or fall further into the cycle of vengeance, death, and hate.

Book excerpt: Poseidon, ancient Greek God of the Sea, ruler of earthquakes and once worshipped by thousands as a fertility god, was bored and that could be a dangerous thing for people around him. Deciding to visit his son, Nereus and friends at the Cloverleah pack, Poseidon causes his own brand of trouble, resulting in a night out at a club. All he wanted was a bed partner for a few hours. What he got was so much more. Alpha Claude wanted nothing more than to rule his pack, care for his club members and take up the offer of a warm body when his urges got to strong. When Kane, Alpha of Cloverleah calls and says he wants to bring a special visitor, he was intrigued. But when a silver-haired god walks into his club, he knows his life is going to change. He just didn't by realize how much. Gods dropping in, visits from family and pesky secrets have a way of making things difficult. Fighting outside foes is easy, but the problems that flare between two very different men might be enough to scupper their mating before it has a chance to settle. Will they ever find their HEA or are the differences between a land creature and a god of the sea to big to overcome? This is an M/M true mates book and as such comes with the obligatory warnings. While this is book two in the series and can be read as a standalone, readers will have more of an understanding of secondary characters and off page references if they have read book one and the Cloverleah series, in particular, On The Brink.
