Book excerpt: Aprendo a leer y escribir, is a series of books that present effective activities for teaching reading and writing to children who are learning Spanish as a first or second language. It is also for those children who have difficulty reading and writing, because of a learning difference or from limited exposure to the printed word. This is an activity book that Special Ed teachers, Reading Intervention and General Education teachers, and even Non-specialist teachers in bilingual or dual Immersion programs can use to support differentiated instruction. And of course, this activity book can be used by parents who want to help their child to learn to read and write in Spanish. The best method to teach reading in Spanish is a Phonetic Syllabic Method because the syllable in the Spanish language is the smallest sound unit easy to pronounce, and recognized by children. This Phonetic Syllabic Method used in Aprende a Leer y Escribir, teaches the five vowels first. Then the syllables are introduced. Once the child dominates the new syllable, this one is combined with the next one to make a new word. By the end of the workbook, the child will be able to read any two or more direct syllable word (Consonant + vowel) word. Every word in the book Aprendo a Leer y Escribir, has an illustration as a visual support. In this way, the children understand all the words that they read. New words are introduced with each new syllable. By the end of the book, the child will have learned 500 new words. The twenty-two syllables are introduced following a sequence based on the frequency of appearance in words used by early literacy texts, and also words familiar to children.Aprendo a Leer y Escribir, comes in a series of five workbooks, each workbook covers the following letters. Book 1: Vowels AEIOU; Book 2: M P S L T; Book 3: R N B F; Book 4: C (ca,co,cu) C (ce,ci) que, qui. J G; Book 5: CH V LL Y Z K W X ñ

Download or read book Coquito Clasico (2014 Edition) written by Everardo Zapata-Santillana and published by . This book was released on 2014-07 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coquito is an educational and scientific instructional book through which more than 38 million Spanish-speaking children have learned to read, write and think. Coquito is conceived and structured in 54 sequential lessons, with which the child is able to start reading and writing, opening a future of intellectual and emotional potential that raises their awareness and self-esteem. This provides great satisfaction to teachers and parents because the students reading comprehension is high. The Reading by Words Method, created with the book Coquito Clasico, is built on the children s vocabulary and on the unique feature of the Spanish language that is read as it is written and written as it is spoken, unlike other languages, whose phonetic complexity is remarkable. It is therefore not advisable to teach how to read in Spanish using methods from other languages such as English and French because it will extend the learning process up to fifteen months for what can be accomplished in three months using our method. The constant interest of the author and his team of specialists is to restructure and update the book according to the improvements and suggestions from teachers who use Coquito with remarkable success, exceeding expectations in most Spanish-speaking countries. Coquito Clasico brings graphic colored themes, illustrated with captivating visuals that engage and develop the child s imagination. This initiates the process of oral expression and reading as well as writing and mathematics. We thank the teachers and parents for using our materials, and we guarantee that they have chosen a method of proven quality and excellence that develops mental processes, taking into account the linguistic features of the Spanish language."
Book Synopsis Coquito Escritura Script Con Razonamiento Verbal by : Everardo Zapata-Santillana
Download or read book Coquito Escritura Script Con Razonamiento Verbal written by Everardo Zapata-Santillana and published by . This book was released on 2014-10 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To write is to represent oral language through graphic elements known as letters. In the first grade, writing is reduced to formulating, through letters, words or sentences that are expressed orally. For this reason, reading and writing are consecutive stages. Given the concern to adequately manage learning the linguistic ability of writing, Ediciones Coquito presents to teachers and parents this activity book with exercises that reinforce verbal reasoning skills achieved with the textbook Coquito Clasico, guiding writing with the same scope and sequences in block letters or print style. This activity book presents multiple images that allow for the association of images and words with activities that enhance visual, auditory and motor discrimination skills. Through these activities, a child will be capable of observing, comparing, and finding similarities and differences in order to achieve increasingly higher levels of thinking and management skills. A child will learn correct movement patterns of the hands while writing and other basic motor skills, including improved dexterity in forming letters, better proportionality while tracing and spacing letters, and adequate writing speed. The exercises in this activity book are linked to verbal reasoning, so they are permanently used, avoiding a mechanical writing style and preparing children for the production of texts according to their creativity, which is powerfully stimulated with verbal reasoning. We hope to once more count on the acceptance of teachers and parents, and we are flattered to have contributed with one more instrument for the purpose of education.

Book Synopsis Writing as a Learning Activity by : Perry Klein
Download or read book Writing as a Learning Activity written by Perry Klein and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2014-04-10 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Writing as a learning activity offers an account of the potentials of writing as a tool for learning. Four aspects of writing emerge particularly clearly through the chapters. First, writing to learn depends on the cognitive strategies of the writer; instruction in such strategies contributes significantly to the ability to use writing as a learning tool. Secondly, strategies for writing and reasoning are largely specific to academic disciplines. Thirdly, writing is not, as traditionally conceived, only an individual ability, but also an activity that is social. It is a collaborative practice facilitated by representational tools-- books, computer, notes, schemata, drawings, etc. – by which knowledge is acquired, organized, and transformed at various levels of complexity. Fourthly, writing is a productive activity, exemplified by the varied and positive effects of writing on learning different subjects at various educational levels.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the Academy Award-winning cowriter of Birdman, a wonderfully eccentric, suspenseful debut in the tradition of Misery and Kiss of the Spiderwoman about a screenwriter kidnapped by a world-famous director who orders him to compose a masterpiece. Pablo, a failed Argentine novelist-turned-screenwriter, has been kidnapped by the greatest Latin American film director of all time and is kept in a basement where he works, day after day, on what he is told must at all costs be a great, world-changing screenplay. Every night, after finishing work on the script, Pablo writes in his notebook and every morning he crosses out what he wrote the night before. The Crossed-Out Notebook is Pablo’s diary of this time: being brought food by a maid; being threatened with a gun; vociferously arguing with the director about what he’s written the previous day. The clash between the two men and their different approaches leads to a movie being made, a gun going off, an unlikely escape, and a final confrontation. In the end, The Crossed-Out Notebook is a darkly funny novel full of intrigue and surprise about the essence of the creative process; a short, crazy ode to any artist whose brilliance shines through strangeness and adversity.
Book Synopsis Affectivity and Learning by : Pablo Fossa
Download or read book Affectivity and Learning written by Pablo Fossa and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-07-27 with total page 793 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents an interdisciplinary approach to the study of affectivity and human learning by bridging the gap between neuroscience, cultural and cognitive psychology. It brings together studies that go beyond the focus on cognitive-intellectual variables involved in learning processes and incorporate the study of the role played by affectivity and emotions in learning not only at educational settings but in all processes of transformation and human development, thus presenting affectivity as a catalyst and mediator of all daily learning processes. Chapters brought together in this contributed volume present both theoretical contributions and results of empirical research from different disciplines, such as neuroscience, cognitive psychology, cultural psychology, educational psychology, developmental psychology and philosophy, and are grouped into five thematic sections. The first part of the book brings together chapters discussing different aspects of the role played by affectivity in learning processes from the perspectives of cultural, educational and developmental psychology. The second part is dedicated to the role of affectivity for teachers during their training as educators and during their pedagogical practice in diverse contexts. The third part focuses on the relationship between affectivity and learning from a neuroscientific point of view. The fourth part discusses affectivity and learning in therapeutic and clinical contexts. Finally, the fifth part brings together chapters about affectivity and learning in everyday life. By bringing together this rich interdisciplinary collection of studies, Affectivity and Learning: Bridging the Gap Between Neurosciences, Cultural and Cognitive Psychology will be a valuable resource for researchers in the fields of psychology, neuroscience and education, as well as for educators and teachers interested in knowing more about the relationship between affectivity and human learning.
