[...] Detailed definition of the sector groups network including the specific trades to be included within each sector and the employer and employee organizations to be recognized Review the existing pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs available; assess the labour market needs of these sectors; conduct a gap analysis; and make recommendations on the priorities for re-alignment of training.

After an introduction on the survey methodology and a profile of respondents, results are presented with regard to such issues as reasons for entering into apprenticeship, perceptions of skilled trades, satisfaction with the apprenticeship program and assistance received from the Apprenticeship Training Division, perceptions of apprenticeship while in high school, and the degree of support of apprentice training by employers.
