Book excerpt: It was at a seminar in New York City in a hotel in Gramercy Park around 1990 that I first saw a demonstration of a muscle-response test and my belief system was turned on its head. The demonstration was given by Dr. Jose Rodriguez DC, who was one of the first diplomates of Applied Kinesiology. I was really impressed, and I could see there was so much more to reality than I could have imagined. As far as I know, what I'll be discussing is not taught at any conventional school in this country, or in any other country for that matter. All the instruction I mentioned above was outside of mainstream academia. I should also say that it is certain that none of teachers mentioned above will agree with everything I've written in this book. Certainly much of what I've written I've learned from them, but anything said here that is not correct should be attributed to me alone. The only blame they deserve is for getting me intensely interested in this work. I've used muscle-response testing in my practice now for over twelve years. In the early days, not surprisingly, none of my new clients had ever seen muscle-response testing and for most it seemed too crazy to be believed and few would return after the first office visit. Now it's still difficult for many of my clients to believe, but it's not at all unusual for new clients to have already seen or even experienced muscle-response testing. If you're new to this it will probably be difficult for you also not to see this as all nonsense. Even if you're not seeing this for the first time and you're already a believer, I'm sure much of what I'll be describing here will also be new to you. - Author.

Detracting from the credibility of the author's itemization of unproven cures is his failure to explore the holes and fallacies of conventional medicine. Many people who've experienced the discrepancy between what conventional medicine "knows" and what it really knows will continue to seek help elsewhere. At least this compendium can alert seekers to some snake oil sales techniques. Annotation copyright by Book News, Inc., Portland, OR

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, about the art and application of Clinical Kinesiology, introduces the energetic system that links mind and body. It shows how the body can “talk,” and therefore be used as a diagnostic tool, and to determine which healing approach will best suit an individual. Clinical Kinesiology allows us to interpret this new “body talk.” This method of muscle-testing “reads” the body’s innate wisdom; when “asked” a question, or presented with a stimulus, the muscles respond clearly, either strongly or weakly. This system, which expedites the application of acupuncture, also helps realign the body’s energy imbalances. Readers will find specific methods of fighting disease that emphasize the dangers of unnecessary drugs, antibiotics and immunization, and the need for a fortified immune system – especially through natural foods. Other topics include: rebuilding the body’s ecology after an overgrowth of unhealthy bacteria or Candidiasis; how to maintain the integrity of the energy system through minimizing exposure to unhealthy electromagnetic fields or EMFs; optimal health for woman; and issues of men’s health. New material in this 2nd edition includes an extensive chapter on children’s health, which addresses pregnancy, birthing procedures and breastfeeding, and illustrates a road map for giving your children (and children yet to come) the best potential for optimal health.

Book excerpt: “By the study, experimentation and practice of natural healing, women are changing and charting the future of health care. Despite heavy resistance or lack of recognition from patriarchal medicine, they are nevertheless making positive changes that will continue and increase. Women’s emphasis on one-to-one work practiced in mutual agreement and participation is very different from mechanized and big-money medicine, and has results and successes far beyond expectations. The emphasis on self-healing returns health care to the consumer, to women’s lives and bodies, for the first time in centuries. The medical system cannot control a movement held in the hands of women, though it may try. Women are taking control again of healing, our daughter-right, for the first time since the matriarchies and the Inquisition.”—from the Introduction

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This update of the bestselling book on Applied Kinesiology introduces a diagnostic method that uses manual muscle testing to assess the body's structure, chemistry, and psyche Manual muscle testing is a standard medical diagnostic technique that utilizes full-strength contraction of the muscle tested. An Applied Kinesiology (AK) muscle test uses this method to not only assess the general integrity of the muscle but to also reveal structural, chemical, and mental weaknesses. To perform an AK muscle test, the practitioner applies light pressure that the client then resists. If the client cannot resist the pressure, the muscle ‘tests weak,’ indicating a structural problem or imbalance that needs to be resolved. Further applications include working with a muscle that tests strong ‘in the clear’ as a diagnostic tool to determine the effect of stimuli including touch, nutrients, medicines, allergens, emotions, poor posture, and stressful memories. Opening with a detailed description of the history and applications of Applied Kinesiology, this book covers the theory, procedure, and interpretation of the muscle test, including diagnosis and correction techniques for areas of weakness. Thirty-three muscle tests for different areas of the body are accompanied by instructive photographs with superimposed anatomical drawings that demonstrate the method and various treatment points. A useful appendix includes a glossary of anatomical terms and special vocabulary; a step-by-step plan for conducting a session; and a list of contacts and sources for Applied Kinesiology materials. Offering a new preface and additional techniques in the areas of manual medicine, orthomolecular medicine, and psychology, Applied Kinesiology, Revised Edition shares the author's discoveries as well as anecdotal observations to stimulate further research. Table of Contents 1. From Biomechanics to Applied Kinesiology 2. Scientific Principles of Applied Kinesiology 3. The Muscle Test 4. Pretests 5. Diagnosis and Correction Techniques 6. Muscle Tests 7. Applied Kinesiology and Manual Medicine 8. Applied Kinesiology and Orthomolecular Medicine 9. Applied Kinesiology and the Psyche 10.
