Book Synopsis Antenna Theory and Microstrip Antennas by : D. G. Fang
Download or read book Antenna Theory and Microstrip Antennas written by D. G. Fang and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-12-19 with total page 439 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Antenna Theory and Microstrip Antennas offers a uniquely balanced analysis of antenna fundamentals and microstrip antennas. Concise and readable, it provides theoretical background, application materials, and details of recent progress. Exploring several effective design approaches, this book covers a wide scope, making it an ideal hands-on resource for professionals seeking a refresher in the fundamentals. It also provides the basic grounding in antenna essentials that is required for those new to the field. The book’s primary focus is on introducing practical techniques that will enable users to make optimal use of powerful commercial software packages and computational electromagnetics used in full wave analysis and antenna design. Going beyond particular numerical computations to teach broader concepts, the author systematically presents the all-important spectral domain approach to analyzing microstrip structures including antennas. In addition to a discussion of near-field measurement and the high-frequency method, this book also covers: Elementary linear sources, including Huygen’s planar element, and analysis and synthesis of the discrete and continuous arrays formed by these elementary sources The digital beam-forming antenna and smart antenna Cavity mode theory and related issues, including the design of irregularly shaped patches and the analysis of mutual coupling Based on much of the author’s own internationally published research, and honed by his years of teaching experience, this text is designed to bring students, engineers, and technicians up to speed as efficiently as possible. This text purposefully emphasizes principles and includes carefully selected sample problems to ease the process of understanding the often intimidating area of antenna technology. Paying close attention to this text, you will be able to confid
Book Synopsis Control of Electromagnetic Scattering by Antenna Impedance Loading by : Shi-chuan Lee
Download or read book Control of Electromagnetic Scattering by Antenna Impedance Loading written by Shi-chuan Lee and published by . This book was released on 1974 with total page 88 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The application of impedance loading techniques for the reduction of backscatter from radar targets were studied. The hybrid methods which combine the GTD and the moment method were used to analyze the backscattering from various geometries such as impedance loaded infinite wedge and a two-dimensional wing model. The effect of both the trailing and the leading edge was considered by using a two-dimensional wing model. The edge diffraction source can be considerably reduced over a 3:1 frequency band for the two-dimensional case. The square plate with a loaded slot was analyzed by a wire grid model. The backscatter reduction of the square plate can be achieved at least over a 2:1 frequency band.

Book Synopsis Radiation from Slots on Cylindrical Bodies Using Geometrical Theory of Diffraction and Creeping Wave Theory by : Constantine A. Balanis
Download or read book Radiation from Slots on Cylindrical Bodies Using Geometrical Theory of Diffraction and Creeping Wave Theory written by Constantine A. Balanis and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A hybrid solution employing wedge diffraction and creeping wave theories is used to compute the radiation patterns of axial and circumferential slots in the principal planes (equatorial and elevation) on conducting cylinders of finite and infinite lengths. The slots are excited by parallel-plate waveguides operating in the TEM and TE10 modes. For the equatorial-plane pattern, the total field in the lit region is obtained by the superposition of two fields, that is, the wedge-diffracted and the creeping-wave fields. The wedge-diffracted field is obtained by approximating the parallel-plate --cylinder geometry with two wedges, each formed by a wall of the waveguide and a tangent plane to the cylinder surface at the edge point. The creeping-wave contribution is obtained by the use of diffraction and propagation coefficients of waves traveling around conducting curved surfaces. The total field in the shadow region is obtained solely from the creeping-wave contribution. For the elevation-plane pattern, wedge diffraction techniques for the entire pattern are employed. The main advantages of the present technique are that it can be applied to geometries where modal solutions are not possible, in numerical ranges where the convergence properties of modal expansions are relatively poor, in parametric design problems since the contribution from each field is separated, and in the analysis of antenna with finite physical sizes.
