When he tried to return the money the chief priests said, This money was paid to have a man killed. We can't put it in the temple treasury. They could pay, we learn, for Jesus' murder with the silver, but they couldn't put it back in the church's bank account. That's the murderous spirit of religion that is still lurking about actively seeking to destroy His Church and your life. The religious spirit did not disappear after the resurrection of Jesus.

Book excerpt: Apostolic ministry is grounded in the fact that the God of Scripture is a sending God who graciously reaches out to a fallen world. Jesus is both the supreme revelation of the God who sends and the perfect example of one who is sent as an apostle. The church is an apostolic people sent into the world. Jesus appointed the Twelve with unique authority as witnesses to the resurrection. Paul shared in that unique authority but also demonstrated that the ministry of apostle continues in a functional sense. The spiritual gift of apostle is given to individuals to equip the whole church in its apostolic calling. Apostles are called by God, but their calling is to be recognized by the body of Christ. The ministry of an apostle is trans-local and involves both church planting and strengthening existing churches. The authority of an apostle is determined by the apostle's willingness to be a servant of the gospel and of the body of Christ. An apostles are recognized by their pioneering and translocal ministry of church planting and church strengthening. Apostles function best as leaders of apostolic bands that are in partnership with local churches. Throughout history various individuals, at the forefront of the church's mission, have demonstrated an apostolic ministry. Today a number of models of ministry point the way to the contemporary functioning of apostolic ministry. Apostolic ministry functions best when it is conducted in both power and weakness. As such it reflects the dual reality of the cross and resurrection in the ministry of the apostle. The gift of apostle has been given for the church's strengthening and equipping in its mission. Individuals with an apostolic ministry should be recognized and released to that function if the church is to be true to its calling in the world. The church began its existence as a missionary movement. The church is apostolic, not only because its teachings are founded on the Apostles, but because it is commanded by Jesus to take the gospel to every people group and wherever the gospel is met with faith, to found churches that continue the process.

Book excerpt: The Apostolic Canopy is a book that describes the relationship dynamics of the fivefold ministry: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. This book addresses these individual roles and how they work together to reach and equip God's people to establish his kingdom. For too long the notion that apostles existed only in the first century or so of church history is no longer a valid argument. Today, it is evident that the fivefold ministry is rapidly emerging and mobilizing for the end time revival harvest that will sweep the globe. Apostles play the preeminent role among God's government, hence, the Apostolic Canopy. In this book you will understand the functional and relational dynamics of the Apostolic Canopy model. For you to embrace this model you must first understand and appreciate the role that each of the fivefold ministries plays in a person's life to reach, develop and send them to their destiny. Joel Garcia, a Senior Associate Pastor at the International Church of Las Vegas, for the past fourteen years has been actively involved in just about every facet of local church ministry with the exception of women's ministry. Book excerpt: Although we all have access to spiritual keys, we do not always know how to use them. We often grapple to discern which key unlocks the door to receive God's promises and which key locks the door to bind the schemes of the enemy. That uncertainty has led many to misuse Scripture, journey into demonic realms, and sojourn in dimensions we were never created to experience. In Scriptural Dimensions, Apostle Sherman D. Farmer imparts sound biblical revelation that will strengthen your spiritual rudiments and provide wisdom regarding how to differentiate between true and false spiritual doors and dimensions. This book serves as a legend to properly guide you along your spiritual journey, empowering you to loose the lawful dimensions of the spirit and bind the unlawful dimensions of the demonic. As you master each dimension, you will acquire further insight into every sanctioned dimension your spiritman is destined to encounter.

How should they be assessed by those Christians who want to be "in the world" without being "of the world"? Theologies of the 21st Century begins with an overview of the historical roots from which current theological thinking has developed, and then moves on to a detailed evaluation of the chief doctrinal and practical emphases, taking an evangelical biblical perspective that seeks to be at once both critical and irenic.
