Book excerpt: Excerpt from Annual Catalogue of Fruit and Ornamental Trees and Plants, 1833 In the'selection of Roses, the proprietors have spared nei ther pains nor expense, and they are happy in being now able to offer the public as, choice a variety of that favorite flower, as has ever been exhibited in this country, embracing over three hundred desirable kinds. In addition to the splendid varieties of Scotch Roses which were so much admired the last season, and the best kinds which have'since been selected from nurseries in this vicinity, they have now under cultiva tion and ready for sale all the fine varieties of Roses which are grown in England, presented to this, establishment by Admiral Sir Isaac Coflin, Bart. A section of their ground has been exclusively appropriated to these plants, and labels corresponding to the numbers on the catalogue have been attached, in order that the peculiar beauty of each may be easily examined and selections made when in bloom by the purchaser.
