Ratigan It was clear from the start that Arthur’s stepmother did not care for him, but with the love of his father, Peter, and his older brother, Samuel, he grew up healthy, happy and, he thought, normal. Then his family learns of their hidden connection to an ancient alien race and civilization… and their place among them. The Code of the Universe follows Peter, Samuel, and finally Arthur as they absorb their true origins and heritage, taking their place within the secretive society of Sumeria—hidden away on Earth, separate from humanity, for millennia. Arthur eventually takes over for Samuel as Duke and blazes his own trail of exploration and betterment of societies with abilities that no Sumerian has demonstrated before. He carries his Code of the Universe out into the cosmos. He finds love and heartache. Arthur thrives in his own unique way and helps others do the same.

Book excerpt: “One of our great visionaries.” —Dr. Wayne W. Dyer “A rare blend of scientist, visionary, and scholar.” —Deepak Chopra A scholar and New York Times–bestselling author shares his shocking theory of an ancient language—found in the decoded elements of our DNA—that shines new light on the mysteries of existence. What would it mean to discover an ancient language—a literal message—hidden within the DNA of life itself? What we once believed of our past is about to change. A coded message has been found within the molecules of life, deep within the DNA in each cell of our bodies. Through a remarkable discovery linking Biblical alphabets to our genetic code, the “language of life” may now be read as the ancient letters of a timeless message. Regardless of race, religion, heritage, or lifestyle, the message is the same in each cell of every woman, child, and man, past and present. Sharing all-new, fascinating research, Gregg Braden discusses the life-changing discovery that led him from a successful career in the aerospace and defense industries to an extensive 12-year study of the most sacred and honored traditions of humankind.

Book excerpt: An examination of the precise code that connects ancient spirituality with modern science • Shows how the numerical patterns in ancient philosophies are evident in both the structure of the universe and the helical structure of DNA • Reveals that music theory comes from an intuitive understanding of the resonant harmony of the cosmos Many have observed the distinct numerical patterns embedded in ancient philosophies and religions from all over the world; others have noted that these same patterns are apparent in many of the theories of groundbreaking science. Michael Hayes reveals that there is a precise code, the Hermetic Code, that connects these patterns--information once known to ancient cultures but apparently lost over time. Mirrored in the structure of this code are the ordering principles of the universe and, intriguingly, also the harmonic ratios of music. Our notions of what is harmonious in music may therefore arise not from an abstract aesthetic sense but as a response to an intuition of a fundamental cosmic harmony. The resonance between biology and cosmology shows that life is music, complete with “overtones”--nowhere more strikingly present than in the helical structure of life itself: DNA.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some say the end of mankind is near. Some say that financial turmoil is part of the process, along with global warming, warfare and the spread of mass psychosis. Children are fed drugs to keep them calm; nations are invaded by their neighbors; the climate is changing all around us; celebrities become our gods and materialism is the new mantra. But what is the real truth? Is there an answer to all this? If our material lives are making us happier, then why so many self-help books, films and philosophies? It can't be denied that the times are changing. Every day sees new challenges for our species, while we cause mayhem and madness on an unbelievable scale. But there is a ratio to it all, a rhyme and reason behind everything that we do and everything that affects us. Ancient Code is a collection of 20 fascinating essays - from today's top authors and researchers - which takes a look at the Ancient Code, our relationship with it and how it relates to 2012. You will learn about a power that was first hidden and then lost over time. Many have sought to rediscover it in order to wield it selfishly. Like mad magicians seeking to rule the world, men of renown have fleetingly seen the incredible nature of this Code but all too often they have missed the point. The Ancient Code needs no material gain, no hatred, warfare or drugs, because YOU are the key to the Code... Featuring: Brian Allan, Jack Allis, Kala Ambrose, Nick Ashron, Philip Coppens, Robert Feather, Philip Gardiner, Dr. Mitchell E. Gibson, Andrew Gough, Jasmine Gould, Dan Green, Dr. John Jay Harper, June-Elleni Lane, Janice Manning, Marshall Masters, Brian Mayne, Steve Mitchell, Nick Pope, Dennis Price and Colin Wilson.

Book excerpt: The legal code was a common feature of the legal systems of the ancient Middle East. The Sumerian Code of Ur-Nammu (c.2100-2050 BC), then the Babylonian Code of Hammurabi (c.1760 BC), are amongst the earliest originating in the Fertile Crescent. In the Roman empire, a number of codi cations were developed, such as the Twelve Tables of Roman law ( rst compiled in 450 BC ) and the Corpus Juris Civilis of Justinian, also known as the Justinian Code(429-534 CE). In ancient China, the rst comprehensive criminal code was the Tang Code, created in 624 CE in the Tang Dynasty. A code is a type of legislation that purports to exhaustively cover a complete system of laws or a particular area of as it existed at the time the code was enacted, by a process of codi cation. Though the process and motivations for codification are similar in different common law and civil law systems, their usage is different. In a civil law country, a code typically covers the complete system of law, such as civil law or criminal law. By contrast, in a common law country with legislative practices in the English tradition, a code is a less common form of legislation that, when enacted, modify the existing common law only to the extent of its express or implicit provision, but otherwise leaves the common law intact."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Codes of Hammurabi and Moses are thousands-years old documents, evidence of the social structure and rules of ancient civilizations. The Code of Hammurabi is roughly one thousand years older than the Ten Commandments, or Laws of Moses, which were written in 1500 B.C., and is considered the oldest set of laws in existence. Promulgated by the king Hammurabi in roughly 2250 B.C., the Code is a set of rules guiding everyday life, listing everything from punishments for stealing and murder to the prices commanded for animals, products, and services. The famous ""eye for an eye"" maxim comes from the Hammurabi code: ""If a man puts out the eye of an equal, his eye shall be put out."" W.W. Davies' translation of The Codes of Hammurabi and Moses includes an explanation of the laws and their history, a Prologue by the author, the text of the codes with comments, an Epilogue, and a detailed Index. W.W. DAVIES was one of several translators of the famous Code of Hammurabi and the Law of Moses. Little to no information is known about him other than his work with the ancient text. A professor of Hebrew at Ohio Wesleyan University, Davies's translation was from 1905, published by Jennings and Graham in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Book excerpt: A fascinating and inspirational look at the vital link between the hidden geometrical order of the universe, geometry in nature, and the geometry of the man-made world. The Da Vinci Code has awakened the public to the powerful and very ancient idea that religious truths and mathematical principles are intimately intertwined. Sacred Geometry offers an accessible way of understanding how that connection is revealed in nature and the arts. Over the centuries, temple builders have relied on magic numbers to shape sacred spaces, astronomers have used geometry to calculate holy seasons, and philosophers have observed the harmony of the universe in the numerical properties of music. By showing how the discoveries of mathematics are manifested over and over again in biology and physics, and how they have inspired the greatest works of art, this illuminating study reveals the universal principles that link us to the infinite.

Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Earliest Cosmologies the Universe as Pictured in Thought By, the Ancient Hebrews, Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks, Iranians, and Indo-Aryans: A Guidebook for Beginners in the Study of Ancient Literatures and Religions In this recovered Euphratean world-view my recent pupils have found such assistance toward a ready understanding of the biblical and other ancient cosmologies that they have repeatedly urged me to print more of the comparative studies that have proved helpful to them. So immense, however, is the field, and so frag mentary must be the contribution which any one man can hope to make, that I have hesitated to issue what I have prepared. Almost daily new light is reaching the investigator of pre historic times and peoples, so that any new archaeological deduction is liable to need for its best statement some modification before it can be carried through the press and through the judgment day that awaits every book sufficiently comprehensive to be of interest to many and diverse specialists.
