Les théorèmes principaux de la théorie de Cauchy ainsi que leur utilisation pour l'étude des séries de Taylor et de Laurent sont présentés en détail. Les fonctions élémentaires (exp, cos, sin etc.) sont introduites dès le début et leurs propriétés sont développées en utilisant la théorie générale. Les propriétés principales des fonctions holomorphes (principe de module maximum, application ouverte, unicité des fonctions holomorphes, théorèmes de Weierstrass et Mittag-Leffler etc.) sont présentées et leur relation avec les fonctions harmoniques est développée.
