Book excerpt: Contexte : Depuis sa création, le réseau des équipes mobiles de gériatrie des hôpitaux de la région Nord-Pas-de-Calais a connu un essor important. Leur activité n'est pas normative et varie en fonction de chaque équipe. Dans ce contexte d'hétérogénéité, le manque d'analyse précise du travail des équipes mobiles de gériatrie constitue un problème essentiel dans l'appréciation de leur fonctionnement et leur service médical rendu. Méthode : Cette étude fait un état des lieux des équipes mobiles de gériatrie en combinant les données quantitatives issues de la base du recensement d'activités de l'Agence Régionale de Santé Nord-Pas-de-Calais avec les données qualitatives issues de l'enquête régionale. Ainsi, à l'aide de la méthode Delphi une liste consensuelle des indicateurs d'activité des équipes mobiles de gériatrie a été élaborée. Résultats : A l'échelle régionale le service des urgences constitue le principal champ d'action des équipes mobiles de gériatrie. La pluridisciplinarité, la complémentarité entre ses membres, l'adaptation d'intervention en fonction du contexte, la transmission des recommandations en toute impartialité et la traçabilité sont les grandes caractéristiques d'intervention des équipes mobiles de gériatrie. L'étude a démontré la nécessite du renforcement des liens entre les équipes mobiles de gériatrie et la médecine de ville. Le dépistage de l'état de fragilité par les outils d'évaluation parait insuffisant quand il s'agit de la dénutrition, de troubles dépressifs, de la polymédication. L'étude a recensé les difficultés des équipes mobiles de gériatrie : la charge de travail importante et le risque d'instrumentalisation due à la réduction du champ d'activité à la seule sphère sociale. Une liste consensuelle d'indicateurs d'activité relatifs à la situation médico-sociale des bénéficiers, aux caractéristiques de la prise en charge et aux résultats d'intervention des équipes mobiles de gériatrie été établie. Conclusion : La combinaison des indicateurs quantitatifs et qualitatifs peut contribuer à la meilleure évaluation de la productivité des équipes mobiles de gériatrie.
