Book excerpt: As a young woman, Mavis Gaunt leaves post-war London to make a new life for herself in rural Devon, where she spent a few blissful months of her childhood as an evacuee. Living alone in the verdant hamlet of Shipleigh, she believes she's found a heaven on earth - until a violent tragedy brings trouble to paradise, and turns Mavis's idyllic solitude into a tormented, guarded isolation. Decades later, the arrival of a newcomer to the village forces Mavis to make a final reckoning: should she take her horrible secret to the grave? Or, should she summon up her ghosts and, in doing so, lay them to rest? An Inventory of Heaven is a lyrical and intimate meditation on the rural life, falling in love and the long passing of time.

Book excerpt: For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one that is coming. – Hebrews 13:14 Is heaven a reality to you, or does it still appear far off and uncertain? The goal of this book is to whet your appetite for heaven. A careful look at Scripture reveals that heaven is what every born-again believer is longing for. Our time on earth is only in a temporary dwelling place, and heaven is the true home of all God’s children. A study of heaven can change how you approach each day, and even how you view others around you. As real as this life is, we are assured that heaven is just as real. While we must not neglect our present God-given duties, we must at the same time be preparing for our future home and should even be looking forward with great anticipation to our eternal home.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The intention of this book is the "harmonious" coexistence between man and woman. However, we can only bring this to fruition by working together, when we ourselves are in accord with our own true Self. Accord is generated when we listen in complete silence to the inner voice deep in our own heart and follow its suggestions. For only then will our inner truth and the living life outside grow more and more towards unity. We are becoming the "No. 1" we are. The more accord there is within us, the more there will be harmony within us and in our relationships!
Book Synopsis A Guide to Practical Living by : William Golson Jr.
Download or read book A Guide to Practical Living written by William Golson Jr. and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2015-11-05 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These Jewish Christians were having some problems in their personal lives and in their church fellowship. They were going through difficult testing. They were also facing temptations to sin. Some of the believers were catering to the rich, while others were being robbed by the rich. Church members were competing for offices in the church, particularly teaching offices. Many failed to live what they professed to believe. Furthermore, the tongue was a serious problem, even to the point of creating wars and divisions in the assembly. Worldliness was another problem. Some of the members were disobeying Gods Word and were sick physically because of it, and some were straying from the Lord and the church. As we review this list of problems, it does not appear to be much different from the problems that beset the average local church today. Is not worldliness a serious problem? Are there not Christians who cannot control their tongues? All these problems had a common causea lack of spiritual maturity. These Christians were simply not growing up. Contrary to what we might think, not everyone who grows old grows up. There is a difference between age and maturity.
