Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is not a science fiction but a motivational book that is written to cautiontize us not to leave a misplace life as arrows in the quiver of the Lord. Many people today found themselves misplaced because of different reason, for example, because of bitterness, arrogance, or eagerness to achieve something, or because of desire. The book is written to remind us, of the qualities that we have as arrows in the hands of God, and it explains the reason why David says, in Psalm 127:3-4 ?Children are like arrows in the quiver of the Lord. Today some even live their marriages, and destroy all the good that they had built for many years simply because of a misplaced heart. People divorce, commit suicide or murder simply because of a misplace heart. Some live complicated lives simply because they have lost their mandate in life, and a result, they fail to live fulfilling lives like arrows, but instead they live like boomerang, always striving hard to find identity, exposure and breakthrough but always coming back to the same position in life, a position of striving and not succeeding. This book will help you to understand the value and significant of being an arrow in the quiver of the Lord, and why it is import to remain in the right quiver of the Lord and not any other quiver. The book outlines characteristics of an arrow, and it explains how to rise beyond people?s expectations, perceptions and the recommendations of this world, so that one should not find himself misplaced in life living a trying life instead of a triumphing life.

Book excerpt: A month's worth of daily readings with a common theme--"my soul, wait thou only upon God" (Psalm 62:5). These stimulating meditations were born out of a burning conviction that Christians should learn to know God better. In his introductory sections, the author says: We want to...give God time and place to show us what He could, what He will do. Let us expect great things of our God. The great lack of our religion is we do not know God. Let us enlarge our hearts and not limit Him. We need more of God. [Prayer is] the one great remedy for all our need. Thirty-one thought-provoking reminders of the "must" of-- Waiting on God.

Book Synopsis An Arrow Against Profane and Promiscuous Dancing. Drawn Out of the Quiver of the Scriptures. by : Increase Mather
Download or read book An Arrow Against Profane and Promiscuous Dancing. Drawn Out of the Quiver of the Scriptures. written by Increase Mather and published by . This book was released on 2021-10-22 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When a dancing master arrived in Boston in 1685 and offered lessons and classes for both sexes during times normally reserved for church meetings, the Puritan ministers went to court to suppress the practice. Increase Mather (1639-1723) took the leading part, writing and publishing this tract, which compiles arguments and precedents for the prohibition of "Gynecandrical Dancing, [i.e.] Mixt or Promiscuous Dancing, viz. of Men and Women ... together." These justifications were certainly shared with the court, which found the dancing master guilty, fined him £100, and allowed him to skip town. Mather's tract on dancing is an overwhelming compendium of sources and authorities: from the Bible, classical authors, Christian Church Fathers, medieval philosophers, and Reformed theologians both Continental and English. None of them, it appears, approved of mixed dancing-because it leads to adultery and worse. The vilest sins and the direst disasters lie only a short step from the dance floor. The Arrow is remarkable for two things (at least): for how much allusion and citation are packed into its brief 30 pages, and for how quickly it escalates the issue into life-or-death scenarios, all vividly painted to emphasize the mortal danger of men and women dancing together.

Download or read book The Whole Armor of God written by Iain M. Duguid and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2019-08-22 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A battle manual for every Christian.” —Sinclair B. Ferguson The Christian life is a battle. We are in a daily struggle against the world, sin, and Satan. But God didn’t leave us to fend for ourselves. He gave us his own armor—armor that Jesus has already worn on our behalf all the way to the cross. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is now at work inside of us. This book unpacks each of the pieces of spiritual armor Paul describes in Ephesians 6, inviting us to take up the armor each day, all while resting in the finished victory of Christ and the assurance that our strength for the battle comes from him.
