This of course is contradictory to our daily experiences with classical particles. How then should this be understood? What happens in the transitional area between the classical world and quantum mechanics? The present book answers exciting questions like these in a way that is easy to follow and to understand and is shows that the link between these two worlds will have concrete and applied effects on our daily life in the near future. It will, for example, improve and change the conventional methods of information processing. With the help of quantum cryptography, it will be possible to communicate tap-proof. Using quantum computers we will be able to solve highly complicated problems in a very short time.

This book was released on 2015-11-06 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fairly or unfairly, the stalemate on the First World War’s Western Front is often attributed to the intellectual stagnation of the era’s military officers. This paper traces the development (or absence of development) of combined arms and fire & maneuver tactics and doctrine in the period prior to WW I, focusing on the Russo-Japanese War. The Western armies that entered the Great War seemingly ignored many of the hard-learned lessons and observations of pre-war conflicts. Though World War I armies were later credited with developing revolutionary wartime tactical-level advances, many scholars claim that this phase of tactical evolution followed an earlier period of intellectual stagnation that resulted in the stalemate on the war’s Western Front. This stalemate, they claim, could have been avoided by heeding the admonitions of pre-war conflicts and incorporating the burgeoning effects of technology into military tactics and doctrine. Some go even further and fault the military leadership with incompetence and foolishness for not adapting to the requirements of modern war. The Russo-Japanese War showed the necessity for combined arms techniques and fire and maneuver tactics on the modern battlefield. Specifically, the war showed the need for: (1) the adoption of dispersed, irregular formations; (2) the employment of fire and maneuver techniques and small unit-tactics, including base of fire techniques; (3) the transition to indirect-fire artillery support to ensure the survivability of the batteries, and; (4) the necessity for combined arms tactics to increase the survivability of assaulting infantry and compensate for the dispersion of infantry firepower.

Book excerpt: In his talks to communities throughout the length and breath of Ireland, John Lonergan finds himself coming back to one theme: the importance of kindness. It is an unexpected theme for the former boss of Ireland's biggest and toughest prison, Mountjoy, but then John Lonergan is an unusual man. John entered the prison service in 1968 and in the years that followed, as he saw human nature at its worst - and often, unexpectedly, at its best - he developed a deep understanding both of human nature and of Irish society. Now, after 42 years in the service, 26 of them as the most senior prison officer in the country, John tells his fascinating life story - from his idyllic childhood in rural Tipperary, to coming face to face with the ugliest face of Irish life, to grappling with the politics of working in a service that was the plaything of officials and politicians. His description of life in the prison service is not only a gripping account of humanity at its rawest, but also an invaluable primer for anyone in top level management. Revealing, surprising and inspiring The Governor gives a unique insight into modern Ireland.

Once a shy, frustrated child, an outcast in school, & an unwelcome competitor in a male-dominated sport, walk along with Rousey as she pulls herself up from an unthinkable tragedy to become the UFC’s first female fighter & one of the greatest female athletes of our time. "I’ve been through so much that there isn’t much left that can scare me. I’ve felt the most pain that I could ever feel, and I’ve felt the most pressure that I could feel and there’s nothing else left. And I believe that I’m capable of doing anything." -Ronda Rousey Review by thriller novelist Kerry J Donovan: Mr Demers is Ms Rousey's unofficial biographer and he does a fantastic job of bringing us close to a charismatic woman fighter at the peak of her physical powers. Mr Demers' relaxed and informative style is joy to read. He clearly respects and admires his subject and has spent a great deal of time researching this enigmatic superstar. From its opening pages where Mr Demers places Ronda's fighting life in an historical perspective, through to the end where he speculates about Ronda's future career, and the dark places in between, this is a great, informative piece of work. Matt Demers shows a deft touch in this excellent book and, like Ronda, pulls no punches. Whether you love women's extreme fighting or not, Mr Rousey's place as a sporting superstar cannot and should not be disregarded. This is an excellent read.
