Gentle Energy Touch includes more than 50 photographs and simple explanations of the chakras and auras and how energy moves—and gets stuck—in the body, and then guides readers through an energy healing session including hands-on positions for different ailments and a closing and grounding at the end.

This book was released on 2010-10-26 with total page 740 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is for those Louisiana slaves (and all the American slaves) whose labor was forced without regard to their humanity, even further, with unrestrained disrespect for their existence. This book is a tribute to the indigenous (originated in or native to the region) Black people of Northeast Louisiana, those folk who were reared in the rural areas, villages, and small towns; who worked on the farms and plantations; sharecropped; cleared all the land; tended all the livestock; planted and harvested all the crops; cooked for, babysat, and cleaned the homes of White folk; and endured the hardships of it all. This is a tribute to those laborers and professionals who strived for better lives for themselves and their families; the people who remained in Monroe, those who migrated to Monroe to make it a fine place to call home, and those who returned to the warmth of Monroe to live; and also, to those who left the area and moved on to other parts of the United States and world. I want to thank them all for trusting me with their stories.

Download or read book Not Far From The Tree written by Eric Otis Simmons and published by Eric Simmons Enterprises, Inc.. This book was released on 2017-03-07 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How does a child raised by a single-parent African American Mother go on to graduate in the “Top 10%” of his college class, walk-on and play college basketball, become President of his IBM sales training class, close sales of $1/2 million, $1 million, and $25 million in Paris, Brussels, and Hong Kong and self-publish a “Best Seller” book? Fueled by his Mom’s mantra, “You can do anything if you put your mind to it,” and other “seeds of knowledge” ingrained in him by her, Eric Otis Simmons went on to accomplish all of the above and more! In “Not Far From The Tree,” Simmons’ Memoir, he shares his life story through a series of smaller stories that range from shocking to calamitous to sorrowful to triumphing. Eric takes you through how he stumbled across a court document revealing his Dad’s surname was actually Bailey and how off guard that caught him. He jokes about the time his Grandmother caught him and his cousin peeing out of a window, and they both lived. Simmons also opens up about the tragic loss of his daughter and the frightening night his Mother was assaulted at gunpoint and his ensuing years-long anger. You'll walk down the hall with him through the secret tunnel underneath Alabama’s State Capitol, where he meets Governor George Corley Wallace for the first time. All he could think about was the Governor's infamous words, “Segregation now, segregation forever!” Eric's insight into his remarkable career in Sales/Sales Management with Fortune 500 titans IBM, AT&T, GE, and MCI, reveals his strive for excellence centered around opening doors for other minorities. Throughout his Memoir, Simmons masterfully ties together his Mother’s teachings with how he utilized them to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to achieve academic, athletic, and business success in Corporate America. Book Synopsis Look for Me in the Whirlwind by : Sekou Odinga
Download or read book Look for Me in the Whirlwind written by Sekou Odinga and published by PM Press. This book was released on 2017-08-15 with total page 671 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Amid music festivals and moon landings, the tumultuous year of 1969 included an infamous case in the annals of criminal justice and Black liberation: the New York City Black Panther 21. Though some among the group had hardly even met one another, the 21 were rounded up by the FBI and New York Police Department in an attempt to disrupt and destroy the organization that was attracting young people around the world. Involving charges of conspiracy to commit violent acts, the Panther 21 trial—the longest and most expensive in New York history—revealed the illegal government activities which led to exile, imprisonment on false charges, and assassination of Black liberation leaders. Solidarity for the 21 also extended well beyond “movement” circles and included mainstream publication of their collective autobiography, Look for Me in the Whirlwind, which is reprinted here for the first time. Look for Me in the Whirlwind: From the Panther 21 to 21st-Century Revolutions contains the entire original manuscript, and includes new commentary from surviving members of the 21: Sekou Odinga, Dhoruba Bin Wahad, Jamal Joseph, and Shaba Om. Still-imprisoned Sundiata Acoli, Imam Jamil Al-Amin, and Mumia Abu-Jamal contribute new essays. Never or rarely seen poetry and prose from Afeni Shakur, Kuwasi Balagoon, Ali Bey Hassan, and Michael “Cetewayo” Tabor is included. Early Panther leader and jazz master Bilal Sunni-Ali adds a historical essay and lyrics from his composition “Look for Me in the Whirlwind,” and coeditors kioni-sadiki, Meyer, and Panther rank-and-file member Cyril “Bullwhip” Innis Jr. help bring the story up to date. At a moment when the Movement for Black Lives recites the affirmation that “it is our duty to win,” penned by Black Liberation Army (BLA) militant Assata Shakur, those who made up the BLA and worked alongside of Assata are largely unknown. This book—with archival photos from David Fenton, Stephen Shames, and the private collections of the authors— provides essential parts of a hidden and missing-in-action history. Going well beyond the familiar and mythologized nostalgic Panther narrative, From the Panther 21 to 21st-Century Revolutions explains how and why the Panther legacy is still relevant and vital today.

Although faith is a foundational aspect of his life, the stories are written in a nonintrusive manner so as to stimulate your thought process through your own experiences.
Download or read book From My Mother written by Darcy Leech and published by eLectio Publishing. This book was released on 2016-03-29 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Riveting, soulful, and courageously told, From My Mother is a meditation on grief, family, genetic disease and also a deeply personal account of the narrator's coming-of-age amid medical crisis and tragedy to carry on the lessons from her mother to raise her young son. A story of loss on many levels, From My Mother is a moving book that transforms suffering into art and inspiration. Leech weaves a beautiful tapestry of the enduring mysteries of what dormant harbingers of genetic disease may lurk within, the surprising possibilities in loss, and the deep resilience of the human spirit as the body weakens. From My Mother leaves the reader pondering the value of genetic testing, the beauty in a disease easy to accept as genetic fault, and the heart wrenching question of when life should be sustained by machine or ended by choice.
