Effective Yoga practices stimulate and open that doorway. The result? Peace, creativity, happiness, and a steady rise of ecstatic bliss radiating from within us. Advanced Yoga Practices (AYP) brings together the most effective methods of Yoga in a flexible integrated system that anyone can use. Instructions are given in plain English for deep meditation, spinal breathing pranayama, bodily manipulations (asanas, mudras and bandhas), tantric sexual practices, and other methods that are systematically applied to swing open the door of our nervous system to permanent higher experience. This is a non-sectarian approach that is compatible with any belief system or religious background. There are over 240 easy-to-follow lessons here, including many hands-on questions and answers between Yoga practitioners and the author. Whether you are a beginner or a veteran in Yoga, the AYP lessons can serve as a useful resource as you travel along your chosen path. What readers are saying about the AYP lessons: "I searched for years to find a method of meditation that I can do. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Throughout history Taoists, Christians, the yogis of northern India, and others have learned that the secret of longevity and even bodily rejuvenation lies in unlocking the body's own healing "somas" (or higher chemistry). Traditionally, however, the principles and techniques behind their discoveries have been hidden, transmitted only from teacher to student. Fortunately, these esoteric secrets are but the ultimate expression of a time-tested body of traditional healing wisdom that has taken strong root in the Western world, where it has been clarified and amplified by a new generation of healers and spiritual practitioners. The Tao of Rejuvenation is an inspiring and very well-written guide to the underlying principles and basic practices essential to our ability to not only achieve longevity and bodily rejuvenation, but also to lead a vital, balanced, and happy life. Written in a clear, rational, and highly readable style, it is a book that speaks to all modern men and women ready and willing to assume responsibility for their own destiny. In The Tao of Rejuvenation author Angelo Druda explains how our health and well-being is based on a simple three-part process of purification, rebalancing, and rejuvenation. He makes specific recommendations for utilizing this process to transform our diet, our exercise regimen, even our sexuality, so that these become powerful sources of rejuvenative energy. Case studies and clear explanations make the practices easier and more engaging. Druda has worked professionally with medicinal herbs for many years, and he skillfully incorporates them in the process of bodily renewal. The Tao of Rejuvenation is a timely and authoritative guide that will be of great interest to complementary and alternative medicine professionals, those in need of radical healing and rejuvenation, and anyone interested in enhancing his or her own health and vitality.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Practiced for thousands of years in the East, urine therapy – the application of your body’s own urine as an agent for the promotion and management of good health – has gained popularity in the West as more people seek effective, affordable and holistic alternatives to modern medicines. Dutch auto-urine expert Coen Van der Kroon first encountered urine therapy when he cut his foot at an ashram in the mountains of India. Conventional antiseptics and treatments did nothing for the injury, and the infection steadily worsened until he was advised to wrap his foot in a cloth soaked in his own urine. To his great relief the treatment worked; the wound healed rapidly. This event served as an awakening for him, beginning his journey of learning and sharing the positive health benefits of urine therapy. Van der Kroon combines his years of research with a wealth of personal experience to document the history and implementation of urine therapy. He introduces and explains its fundamental principles, explores its history, lists many practical applications, and documents recent research and literature on the subject. Remarkably, the medicinal properties of urine have been shown to work as a natural remedy for a variety of bodily ills ranging from skin conditions to the common cold to cancer. Complete with an extensive bibliography and numerous illustrations, this user-friendly guide is a thorough primer for the curious, and an informative resource for those already versed in this practice and its benefits.

Book excerpt: Head formation requires the well-orchestrated and harmonised development of various tissues and organs within the craniofacial complex. A big variety of signaling pathways are involved in this process by controlling cell proliferation, migration, differentiation, tissue morphogenesis, homeostasis and regeneration. Deregulation and malfunction of these signaling molecules may lead to mild or severe craniofacial pathologies. This eBook is a collection of articles dealing with a variety of important signals involved in the control of developmental and pathological events of craniofacial organs and tissues. These recent advances show the importance of signaling pathways in craniofacial physiology and pathology and generate important new knowledge aiming the development of new pharmaceutical products that mimic and/or block the actions of specific molecules.

Book excerpt: This book examines the functions of sculpture during the Preclassic period in Mesoamerica and its significance in statements of social identity. Julia Guernsey situates the origins and evolution of monumental stone sculpture within a broader social and political context and demonstrates the role that such sculpture played in creating and institutionalizing social hierarchies. This book focuses specifically on an enigmatic type of public, monumental sculpture known as the "potbelly" that traces its antecedents to earlier, small domestic ritual objects and ceramic figurines. The cessation of domestic rituals involving ceramic figurines along the Pacific slope coincided not only with the creation of the first monumental potbelly sculptures, but with the rise of the first state-level societies in Mesoamerica by the advent of the Late Preclassic period. The potbellies became central to the physical representation of new forms of social identity and expressions of political authority during this time of dramatic change.

Book excerpt: The story of the Italian mountain villagers who lived on Monte Sole trying to survive the war and the horror that overtook them in September and October, when the retreating German army massacred 1800 of the citizens of Monte Sole. The mountain--a 2000-foot peak in central Italy, some fifteen miles south of Bologna--had been a haven for Partisans. For this reason the Germans mistrusted the villagers, but the ugly rastrellamento (purge) occurred more by chance than vengeance: Monte Sole happened to be located on the main route of the retreating army, and the SS deemed it necessary to ""neutralize"" the mountain. In operational terms, this meant mass-murder. The book is based on the accounts of survivors, the few official records, courtroom testimony, and visible scars. It begins with the postman on his rounds, and by this device visits with most of the contadini (tenant farmers) of the region, the priests, the storekeeper, the elders. They are simple people, family-oriented rather than nationalistic, and often likably eccentric. It is their very individuality that makes the ensuing chapters on the mass-murder so effective. Compelling, compassionate--rarely sentimental--a stirring book. Jack Olsen is the award-winning author of thirty-three books published in fifteen countries and eleven languages. Olsen's journalism earned the National Headliners Award, Chicago Guild's Page One Award, commendations from Columbia and Indiana Universities, the Washington State Governor's Award, the Scripps-Howard Award and other honors. The Philadelphia Inquirer described him as "an American treasure."
