Book Synopsis Language Hacking German by : Benny Lewis
Download or read book Language Hacking German written by Benny Lewis and published by Quercus. This book was released on 2017-11-14 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's true that some people spend years studying German before they finally get around to speaking the language. But here's a better idea. Skip the years of study and jump right to the speaking part. Sound crazy? No, it's language hacking. Unlike most traditional language courses that try to teach you the rules of German, #LanguageHacking shows you how to learn and speak German through proven memory techniques, unconventional shortcuts and conversation strategies perfected by one of the world's greatest language learners, Benny Lewis, aka the Irish Polyglot. Using the language hacks -shortcuts that make learning simple - that Benny mastered while learning his 11 languages and his 'speak from the start' method, you will crack the language code and exponentially increase your language abilities so that you can get fluent faster. It's not magic. It's not a language gene. It's not something only "other people" can do. It's about being smart with how you learn, learning what's indispensable, skipping what's not, and using what you've learned to have real conversations in German from day one. The Method #LanguageHacking takes a modern approach to language learning, blending the power of online social collaboration with traditional methods. It focuses on the conversations that learners need to master right away, rather than presenting language in order of difficulty like most courses. This means that you can have conversations immediately, not after years of study. Each of the 10 units culminates with a speaking 'mission' that prepares you to use the language you've learned to talk about yourself. Through the language hacker online learner community, you can share your personalized speaking 'missions' with other learners - getting and giving feedback and extending your learning beyond the pages of the book . You don't need to go abroad to learn a language any more.
Book Synopsis Thomas Demand, Hans-Ulrich Obrist by : Thomas Demand
Download or read book Thomas Demand, Hans-Ulrich Obrist written by Thomas Demand and published by Walther Konig Verlag. This book was released on 2007 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume number 10 in the Conversation Series with the influential museum director, curator, writer and conversationalist Hans Ulrich Obrist, is given over to an intensive talk with the important German conceptual artist, Thomas Demand, who constructs precise environments out of paper maquettes, which are then photographed to haunting effect. Topics include concepts and rules of operation, the reconstruction and reverberation of history, work processes, studio realities and significant exhibitions of recent years. This wide-ranging conversation, modestly illustrated with black-and-white images, is as intelligent as it is revealing, giving the reader an unprecedented glimpse into the minds of two of the most brilliant players on the international art scene. Demand lives between Berlin and New York, where a retrospective of his work was shown at The Museum of Modern Art in 2005. Hans Ulrich Obrist is the Co-Director of the Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, as well as the Serpentine Gallery, London, where he lives and works.

Book Synopsis English in the Modern World by : Maria Dakowska
Download or read book English in the Modern World written by Maria Dakowska and published by Peter Lang Gmbh, Internationaler Verlag Der Wissenschaften. This book was released on 2000 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains contributions in English and German. The festschrift volume English in the Modern World presents an international collection of seventeen articles. The contributions from individual scholars or teams of experts have been divided into eight sections addressing mainstream concerns in language studies within the English-speaking world. A variety of articles has been directed to aspects of learning and teaching English as a foreign language at university as well as primary level, especially to error and strategy research in such areas as phonetics, lexis and pragmatics, followed by a cross-linguistic analysis of false friends in English and German phraseology and, finally, the potential of the Internet and video technology in language teaching. In addition to the didactically and linguistically oriented investigations, it is rounded off by three studies in literary criticism and one in American Studies. The honoree, Professor Hartmut Breitkreuz, has held a chair at the Educational University of Heidelberg/Germany since 1974. Throughout his career he taught and published in such fields as foreign language didactics including teaching methods, collocational learning, error analysis, applied linguistics specialising in false friends and pseudo-anglicisms, modern English literature, literary onomastics and intertextuality.

Book Synopsis The cosmic dubious big bang by : Dietmar Dressel
Download or read book The cosmic dubious big bang written by Dietmar Dressel and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2021-11-10 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From our previous considerations on this topic, I mean by that: The material universe in the cosmic cycle, and from our jointly developed level of knowledge and the factual understanding, one may be able to understand the enthusiasm. However, with the cosmic evolution before this dubious Big Bang, all of this has next to nothing to offer. Specifically, after I was able to read a little in the archives of mankind from the modern planet earth, I mean that they define cosmic evolution from the beginning of this dubious Big Bang. They connect this, from their point of view, central, cosmic event without restriction with the beginning of the cosmic world, without defining this world in concrete terms, energetically and materially. And by that I mean not only material evolution, but also the biological development of living beings of the most varied kinds.
Book Synopsis Race, Language, and Subjectivation by : Liesa Rühlmann
Download or read book Race, Language, and Subjectivation written by Liesa Rühlmann and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-10-28 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many school students in Germany are plurilingual and use German and further languages in their daily lives. This use is differently approached and valued. Not only languages spoken, but race, too, plays a role in how language use is addressed in schools. Interviews that were conducted and analyzed with a Grounded Theory approach show that subject positions assigned to students concerning plurilingualism shape how they reflect on experiences in school from a retrospective focus. By turning to a raciolinguistic perspective and drawing on subjectivation theory, the terms used to signify dominantly found re-positionings are ‘raciolinguistic norm’ and ‘raciolinguistic Other’. The results highlight the necessity of focusing in more detail on how listening positionalities shape language use in society and in schools specifically.

Do thinking corporeal beings of the higher spiritual order, for example humans, have an ego-consciousness on the basis of the law of conservation of energy? Where does the cycle of cosmic life close? Is there a purpose why the universal world exists in its entirety? And for the fact that it is set up as it is? Is there such a thing as god or gods? As they are called on some habitable planets? And if so, what should we know about him or her? Are they possibly a product of spiritual fantasy of thinking, physical beings of the higher spiritual order as a means of developing and maintaining power? What distinguishes the species of thinking corporeal beings of the higher spiritual order? Is there such a thing as the spiritual, especially a fundamental difference between spirit and matter?
