Book Synopsis AGSO Phanerozoic Timescale 1995 by : P. J. Jones
Download or read book AGSO Phanerozoic Timescale 1995 written by P. J. Jones and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1996 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both Wallchart and Explanatory Notes are a compilation of the history and current status of the major subdivisions of the Phanerozoic Eon; they are derived from the detailed charts presented in the larger reference volume, An Australian Phanerozoic Timescale (eds. Young and Laurie, OUP, 1996).The Wallchart displays a linear timescale for the Phanerozoic taken to the level of stages; a non-linear scale for the Precambrian is included to show the fullness of geologic time. The Explanatory Notes describe briefly each time period: its history, definition of its base in terms of isotopic andbiostratigraphic data, and its subdivision into series and stages. AGSO Phanerozoic Timescale 1995 integrates standard European time units and Australian Cambrian and Ordovician stages. This scale is significant for global correlation of Phanerozoic sequences and their biotas. It will be attractiveand useful to resource exploration companies, geological surveys, university and school students, and individual professional and amateur geologists.
Book Synopsis Complexing and Hydrothermal Ore Deposition by : Harold C. Helgeson
Download or read book Complexing and Hydrothermal Ore Deposition written by Harold C. Helgeson and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 143 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Complexing and Hydrothermal Ore Deposition provides a synthesis of fact, theory, and interpretative speculation on hydrothermal ore-forming solutions. This book summarizes information and theory of the internal chemistry of aqueous electrolyte solutions accumulated in previous years. The scope of the discussion is limited to those aspects of particular interest to the geologist working on the problem of hydrothermal ore genesis. Wherever feasible, fundamental principles are reviewed. Portions of this text are devoted to calculations of specific hydrothermal equilibriums in multicomponent solutions at elevated temperatures, including a general examination and evaluation of the solution chemistry and geochemical parameters involved in aqueous transport and deposition of the ore-forming metals. This publication is intended for geologists, but is also beneficial for students conducting research on the components of soil and rock.

Book Synopsis Geoenvironmental Mapping: Methods,Theory and Practice by : Peter T Bobrowsky
Download or read book Geoenvironmental Mapping: Methods,Theory and Practice written by Peter T Bobrowsky and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2001-01-01 with total page 748 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text illustrates the range of environmental geoscience mapping presently carried out around the world. Specialists in several countries have contributed a number of subdisciplinary and thematic topics including volcanic hazards, landslides, dolines, tsunamis, radon potential, medical geology, rainfall erosion, engineering geology, borehole stratigraphy, lake sediment geochemistry, aggregate resources and remote sensing. The collection, analysis and interpretation of data by geologists, geographers and engineers typically involves the presentation of information in map form, which can range from black/white to colour, 2-D to 3-D and paper copy to digital format illustrations. This volume reaffirms the global need for mapping geoscientific data.

Book Synopsis Servicing Transformation by : Anastasiya Shtaltovna
Download or read book Servicing Transformation written by Anastasiya Shtaltovna and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2013 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis examines the role of agricultural service organizations in the rural transformation processes in Uzbekistan, which has experienced a chain of agricultural reforms since 1991. These organizations, apart from providing services (i.e. provision of fertilizers, seeds, machinery), fulfill many other socio-political functions. They also act as a social security net for their personnel. The book's analysis reveals that agrarian transformation has produced three types of service organizations, which differ in their distance from and importance for the government and the state procurement system. This distance has implications for their autonomy, market orientation, and potential for long-term sustainability. Thesis. (Series: ZEF Development Studies - Vol. 23)
