Challenges including the acculturation process, language and social barriers, the developmental state of emerging adulthood, the loss of familial support and cultural identity have compounding impacts on Iranian immigrant emerging adults. The purpose of this project is to facilitate a safe space for Iranian immigrant emerging adults (EA's) to learn healthy coping skills to better deal with the challenges they face integrating into the new host culture of the U.S. The group curriculum will incorporate psychoeducation and processing exercises in order to equip members with these healthy coping skills so that they can better deal with challenges without losing their sense of self.
