Book Synopsis Effects of Experimental Parameters on Thermoluminescence of a Type II-a Diamond by : Albert D. Johnson
Download or read book Effects of Experimental Parameters on Thermoluminescence of a Type II-a Diamond written by Albert D. Johnson and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thermoluminescence provides a method for studying properties of those crystalline imperfections which behave as electron traps and recombination centers in wide bandgap materials. This approach, however, has been used relatively little, possibly due to the fact that the shapes and intensities of thermoluminescent glow curves are functions of several experimental parameters and are often complicated by the overlapping of a number of individual glow peaks. In the present work, experimental parameters were isolated and some of their effects on thermoluminescent glow curves were analyzed. This yielded information on activation energies associated with trapping levels, the nature of the kinetics involved in electron transitions, and electron retrapping. A Type II-a diamond, which has a wide distribution of thermoluminescent glow peaks, was used in this work. (Author).
Book Synopsis Adsorption of Inorganic Anions on a Mercury Electrode from Solutions of Formamide by : Richard Payne
Download or read book Adsorption of Inorganic Anions on a Mercury Electrode from Solutions of Formamide written by Richard Payne and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A theory of hydromagnetic ionizing waves has been developed which is valid in the region in which gas pressure is negligible, compared with magnetic pressure. The theory takes into account the energy expended in partial ionization of the gas behind the wave. The usual high conductivity boundary condition behind the wave is not employed. The electric field in front of the wave is taken as a parameter. Results of this theory are compared with available experimental measurements, and show good agreement. (Author).
Book Synopsis Improved Method for Quantum-mechanical Three-body Problems by : Leonard Eyges
Download or read book Improved Method for Quantum-mechanical Three-body Problems written by Leonard Eyges and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The quantum-mechanical ground-state problem for three identical particles bound by attractive inter-particle potentials is discussed. For this problem it has previously been shown that it is advantageous to write the wave function in a special functional form, form which an integral equation which is equivalent to the Schrodinger equation was derived. In this paper a new method for solving this equation is presented. The method involves an expansion of a two-body problem with a potential of the same shape as the inter-particle potential in the three-body problem, but of enhanced strength.
Book Synopsis On the Theory of Boolean Formulas by : E. W. Samson
Download or read book On the Theory of Boolean Formulas written by E. W. Samson and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theory of substitutions for Boolean formulas developed in a previous report is applied here to the determination of those s-tuples of formulas that may be allowable replacements for s -tuples of sub-formulas of given Boolean formulas. The criteria of allowability are very general and flexible, yet may be expressed with great precision and ease. The results formalize and extend various known isolated instances. They may be used for the study of a large number of problems in the theory and application of Boolean formulas and functions.

Book Synopsis A Discussion of the Wheeler-Feynman Absorber Theory of Radiation by : Ronald G. Newburgh
Download or read book A Discussion of the Wheeler-Feynman Absorber Theory of Radiation written by Ronald G. Newburgh and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Wheeler-Feynman absorber theory of radiation is reviewed. A proof is offered to show that a sum of advanced and retarded effects from the absorber can provide the origin of radiative reaction. This proof is different from and perhaps simpler than that of Wheeler and Feynman. From arguments of momentum and energy conservation the necessity of the absorber for the emission of radiation is demonstrated for three cases. (Author).
