Book excerpt: Excerpt from Abraham Lincoln: The People's Leader in the Struggle for National Existence ON the twelfth of February, 1909, the hun dredth anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln, Americans gathered together, through out the entire Country, to honour the memory of a great American, one who may come to be accepted as the greatest of Americans. It was in every way fitting that this honour should be rendered to Abraham Lincoln and that, on such commemoration day, his fellow-citizens should not fail to bear also in honoured memory the thousands of other good Americans who like Lincoln gave their lives for their country and without whose loyal devotion Lincoln's leadership would have been in vain. Book excerpt: This book is a result of an effort made by us towards making a contribution to the preservation and repair of original classic literature. In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. We are grateful to our readers for putting their faith in us and accepting our imperfections with regard to preservation of the historical content. HAPPY READING!

D., authored an extraordinary biography titled "Abraham Lincoln: The People's Leader" in 1909. This complete work gives an in depth and insightful account of the existence and management of Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States. In "Abraham Lincoln: The People's Leader," Putnam paints a shiny portrait of Lincoln's journey from his humble beginnings to his pivotal role in American history. The e book explores Lincoln's early life in a log cabin, his self-education, and his access into the felony and political global. It delves into his private struggles, such as the lack of his mother, sister, and cherished son, as well as his tumultuous marriage to Mary Todd Lincoln. The biography also substantially covers Lincoln's political career, his debates with Stephen A. Douglas, and his election as president during a tumultuous time in American history, marked via the Civil War. Putnam examines Lincoln's management fashion, his eloquent speeches, and his function in preserving the Union and abolishing slavery. Through Putnam's meticulous studies and engaging prose, "Abraham Lincoln: The People's Leader" provides readers with a deep knowledge of Lincoln's person, ideas, and the demanding situations he faced at some stage in one of the most vital intervals in American records.
