In this story, the four prominent seasons were personified as demigods, and each individual possessed the powers of the different seasons. The season itself is a unique concept in defining its origin. The Story of Season Land consists of seven chapters, with the beginning of the story focused on the theme of love. It begins with a summer and winter love story, the rules of the land, and the consequences of breaking those rules. The story of Season Land also makes you feel the pain of departure, and finally, things get a little darker when you come to the ending part of the story. Chapters 5 and 6 perfectly set up the final chapter, The Blood War." The Blood War itself opens the door to ways to expand the story. verse: Martin's Story Universe lets us explore a new world with lots of different characters, and the storyline deals with science and magic. The second stage of my story is when Time collides.

Book Synopsis The 5th Season: New year ku (books 1 & 2 of 4) by : Robin D. Gill
Download or read book The 5th Season: New year ku (books 1 & 2 of 4) written by Robin D. Gill and published by Paraverse Press. This book was released on 2007 with total page 469 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, the first of a series, Robin D. Gill, author of the highly acclaimed Rise, Ye Sea Slugs! and Cherry Blossom Epiphany, the largest single-theme anthologies of poetry ever published, explores the traditional Japanese New Year through 2,000 translated haiku (mostly 17-20c). "The New Year," R.H. Blyth once wrote, "is a season by itself." That was nowhere so plain as in the world of haiku, where saijiki, large collections called of ku illustrating hundreds, if not thousands of briefly explained seasonal themes, generally comprised five volumes, one for each season. Yet, the great doyen of haiku gave this fifth season, considered the first season when it came at the head of the Spring rather than in mid-winter, only a tenth of the pages he gave to each of the other four seasons (20 vs. 200). Was Blyth, Zen enthusiast, not enamored with ritual? Or, was he loath to translate the New Year with its many cultural idiosyncrasies (most common to the Sinosphere but not to the West), because he did not want to have to explain the haiku? It is hard to say, but, with these poems for the re-creation of the world, Robin D. Gill, aka "keigu" (respect foolishness, or respect-fool), rushes in where even Blyth feared to tread to give this supernatural or cosmological season - one that combines aspects of the Solstice, Christmas, New Year's, Easter, July 4th and the Once Upon a Time of Fairy Tales - the attention it deserves. With G.K. Chesterton's words, evoking the mind of the haiku poets of old, the author-publisher leaves further description of the content to his reader-reviewers. "The man standing in his own kitchen-garden with the fairyland opening at the gate, is the man with large ideas. His mind creates distance; the motor-car stupidly destroys it." (G.K. Chesterton: Heretics 1905)

Book Synopsis A Year Without a Name by : Cyrus Dunham
Download or read book A Year Without a Name written by Cyrus Dunham and published by Little, Brown. This book was released on 2019-10-15 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A "stunning" (Hanif Abdurraqib), "unputdownable" (Mary Karr) meditation on queerness, family, and desire. How do you know if you are transgender? How do you know if what you want and feel is real? How do you know whether to believe yourself? Cyrus Dunham’s life always felt like a series of imitations—lovable little girl, daughter, sister, young gay woman. But in a culture of relentless self-branding, and in a family subject to the intrusions and objectifications that attend fame, dissociation can come to feel normal. A Lambda Literary Award finalist, Dunham’s fearless, searching debut brings us inside the chrysalis of a transition inflected as much by whiteness and proximity to wealth as by gender, asking us to bear witness to an uncertain and exhilarating process that troubles our most basic assumptions about identity. Written with disarming emotional intensity in a voice uniquely his, A Year Without a Name is a potent, thrillingly unresolved meditation on queerness, family, and selfhood. Book Synopsis Life As a Mommy by : Cathy Spigarelli
Download or read book Life As a Mommy written by Cathy Spigarelli and published by Dog Ear Publishing. This book was released on 2006-04 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Do You Feel Isolated as a Mom?" You've heard, "No man is an island," but did you know that, "No mom is an island," either? Through twelve years of parenting, Cathy Spigarelli has learned moms need other moms, for advice, reassurance, suggestions, and camaraderie. In her book, "Life as a Mommy," moms find just such support. Every day for a year, Cathy wrote about life with her three, young children. The 365 compact entries have a girlfriend-to-girlfriend, conversational tone and can be read in minutes, without guilt. "Life as a Mommy" provides a window into the daily life of a mom, revealing her triumphs and struggles, her joy and laughter, and her dilemmas and concerns. The book gently advises, provides insights, and offers suggestions to fellow moms. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will wonder, as Cathy does, about this incredibly difficult, incredibly joyous thing called motherhood. Cathy Spigarelli didn't start out dreaming of being a mommy. Instead, she began a career as an engineer. She married and then completed a master's degree. With a brand new degree and a brand new baby, Cathy found herself at a turning point. Setting aside career ambitions, she became a full-time mommy. For twelve years, Cathy has been a stay-at-home mom. Every day for an entire year, she captured her thoughts, feelings, and concerns about daily life as a mom. She wrote while locked in the bathroom, at stoplights, and in the preschool parking lot. She lives with her husband (who wonders why he isn't mentioned in the book more often) and her three lively children (who wonder why mommy writes about them) in Indianapolis, Indiana. In this book, you will find that, as a mom, you do not walk alone. We journey through motherhood together. Won't you join me?
Book Synopsis Single Season Sitcoms of the 1990s by : Bob Leszczak
Download or read book Single Season Sitcoms of the 1990s written by Bob Leszczak and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2018-09-14 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the "Must See TV" 1990s, Americans enjoyed such immensely popular sitcoms as Friends, Seinfeld, Home Improvement and The Drew Carey Show. Shows that did not make the ratings cut numbered in the hundreds--the emergence of new networks and cable channels airing original programming resulted in a vast increase in short-lived sitcoms over the previous decade. Some of these "flops" were actually quite good and deserved a better fate. The author revisits them--along with the "dramedies" of the day--with detailed entries providing production and broadcast information, along with critical analyses, and recollections by cast and crew members. A subsection highlights sitcoms that returned for an abbreviated second season. Dozens of cast and crew photographs are included.
