Book Synopsis Some Aspects of the State Assignment Problem for Sequential Circuits by : Donald R. Haring
Download or read book Some Aspects of the State Assignment Problem for Sequential Circuits written by Donald R. Haring and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the major steps in the synthesis of switching circuits containing memory is the binary coding of the internal states. The choice of code, called the state assignment, strongly affects the complexity of the circuit realization. Hence, the objective is to find, for a given sequential machine (SM) as typically specified by a flow table and an output table, that state assignment (SA) which minimizes the sequential circuit (SC) complexity. The point of view is taken that the greatest lack in promoting an understanding of the SA problem is a knowledge of the structure of the relationship between the properties of the SM and the properties of the logic required by its SC realization. Consequently, a large part of this report is devoted to developing and using some new techniques for studying the structure of this SM-SC relationship. (Author).
Book Synopsis Finite State Machine Logic Synthesis for Complex Programmable Logic Devices by : Robert Czerwinski
Download or read book Finite State Machine Logic Synthesis for Complex Programmable Logic Devices written by Robert Czerwinski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-01-12 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a monograph devoted to logic synthesis and optimization for CPLDs. CPLDs' macrocell can also be interpreted as programmable AND-fixed OR structure, well known as PAL-based structure. The question is: what should be done when the number of implicants representing function exceeds the number of product terms available in a logic block. The answer is ... in the book. Logic synthesis and optimization methods dedicated for PAL-based structures are proposed. The methods strive to find the optimum fit for the combinational logic and finite state machines to the structure of the logic device and aim at area and speed optimization. The theoretical background and complete strategies are richly illustrated with examples and figures.
Book Synopsis Electronic Design Automation for IC Implementation, Circuit Design, and Process Technology by : Luciano Lavagno
Download or read book Electronic Design Automation for IC Implementation, Circuit Design, and Process Technology written by Luciano Lavagno and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-02-03 with total page 893 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second of two volumes in the Electronic Design Automation for Integrated Circuits Handbook, Second Edition, Electronic Design Automation for IC Implementation, Circuit Design, and Process Technology thoroughly examines real-time logic (RTL) to GDSII (a file format used to transfer data of semiconductor physical layout) design flow, analog/mixed signal design, physical verification, and technology computer-aided design (TCAD). Chapters contributed by leading experts authoritatively discuss design for manufacturability (DFM) at the nanoscale, power supply network design and analysis, design modeling, and much more. New to This Edition: Major updates appearing in the initial phases of the design flow, where the level of abstraction keeps rising to support more functionality with lower non-recurring engineering (NRE) costs Significant revisions reflected in the final phases of the design flow, where the complexity due to smaller and smaller geometries is compounded by the slow progress of shorter wavelength lithography New coverage of cutting-edge applications and approaches realized in the decade since publication of the previous edition—these are illustrated by new chapters on 3D circuit integration and clock design Offering improved depth and modernity, Electronic Design Automation for IC Implementation, Circuit Design, and Process Technology provides a valuable, state-of-the-art reference for electronic design automation (EDA) students, researchers, and professionals.
Book Synopsis Electrical Engineer's Reference Book by : G R Jones
Download or read book Electrical Engineer's Reference Book written by G R Jones and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 1392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A long established reference book: radical revision for the fifteenth edition includes complete rearrangement to take in chapters on new topics and regroup the subjects covered for easy access to information. The Electrical Engineer's Reference Book, first published in 1945, maintains its original aims: to reflect the state of the art in electrical science and technology and cater for the needs of practising engineers. Most chapters have been revised and many augmented so as to deal properly with both fundamental developments and new technology and applications that have come to the fore since the fourteenth edition was published (1985). Topics covered by new chapters or radically updated sections include: * digital and programmable electronic systems * reliability analysis * EMC * power electronics * fundamental properties of materials * optical fibres * maintenance in power systems * electroheat and welding * agriculture and horticulture * aeronautic transportation * health and safety * procurement and purchasing * engineering economics
