One day out in the parking lot of the church buying pumpkins, I told the pastor about this little girl. In the parking lot, the pastor said, "Let's pray for that girl." The pastor, the pumpkin sellers, and I prayed for the little girl. That was on a Tuesday. Instead of the little girl sitting down next to me, the mother sat down and said, "You're not going to believe this. We just got back." From the hospital, the doctor said that she was absolutely cancer-free. Pegasus.

Book excerpt: Victor Pearn is indeed “A man for all seasons.” This is my conclusion after feasting upon each delicious morsel of his poetry. It is my belief that Victor Pearn’s poetry will be considered to be among the finest works of poetry in both the Twentieth Century and our New Millennium. He has the unique gift of expressing in poetry what is otherwise inexpressible. His word pictures make you feel like you are there experiencing the things he describes so vividly. Victor also possesses the unique ability of being both tough minded and tender hearted. He is one of those rare individuals whose writings are both sweet and reasonable. His poetry reflects who he is today and where he has been, as he is a child of the Sixties and Seventies who has tasted both the bitter and the sweet and has come through those refining trials as a man who has lived what his poetry teaches. I am proud to commend Victor Pearn’s poetry to all who are hungry and thirsty for a special literary feast. Dr. Jerry Gibson

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to the author, "Grandmother skills" are disappearing because in our highly mobile society, women may now remain in the workforce or live far from their grandchildren. Elgin (The Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense), herself a grandmother to 10, attempts to fill this gap by providing grandmothers of all types and ages with this chatty and good-natured guide to successful grandmothering. Included among Elgin's 21 sensible principles are advice for mediating family disputes, tips for helping grandchildren with money problems while maintaining one's own financial solvency, as well as the importance of passing down family myths and stories to the next generation. Elgin also discusses family crises or illnesses when it may become necessary for a grandmother to take over the running of the household of one of her children (whom she coyly refers to as a "chadult"). Elgin firmly believes that once the emergency is over, a grandmother must return the household to the parents as soon as possible and gracefully return home. Elgin includes lots of nitty gritty advice but most of her book is aimed at reminding readers how to give families the advantage of their experience without giving in to the frailties of age. “ 35 b/w illustrations

Book excerpt: The e-mail Danny and Allison read on their new computer in 1996 looks no different from the millions of others received by Web users around the world, with one glaring exception--it was sent by their dads who died during the 1970s. While residing in the afterworld at an amenity-laden paradise called Midway Manor, guitar-strumming Mickey Parks and piano-playing Lloyd Wallace monitor and manipulate the lives of their adult children on earth from the mid-'70s through the 1990s. Tampering with the facility's sophisticated computer, the dads thrust Mickey's daughter Allison and Lloyd's son Danny into a passionate but sometimes stormy relationship-a relationship steeped in Danny's heavy drinking and entangled in the often-zany world of men's adventure magazine publishing. After carefully implementing a plan to send their son and daughter a gift of knowledge that could enrich their lives forever, the dads' brief contact is cut short. They are banished to another destination in the afterworld, but not before they impart indisputable proof of life after death--and unwittingly put Danny's and Allison's earthbound lives on the line.

They are the light between shadows which is where these earth stories have been awaiting their unveiling. That time is now, whatever now in which they happen into your world. Galaxy 313: Book One of the mystical fiction series Hearts Beat Wisdom introduces the principal characters and provides an overview of events thus far. These timeless tales for ages 8 through adult open a path to enlighten the heart and soul of humanity during this time of transformation. The light of love shining within each person must unite as One with Divine Presence to restore balance and harmony to self, the earth, and all life. • Niko of Quintaris—an adventurous young man who breaks with Quintaris tradition in following his heart. • Kuma, Wisdom Keeper and Star Spinner on Galaxy 313—a rare breed of guide and teacher. • Sefron—a light-being from Galaxy 313 who assumes visible forms, primarily as an elf who is Niko’s mentor on earth. • Annalisa—the fairy princess who is given to outbursts of worry about her mission of going to earth to remember who she is. • Humbugs—interdimensional way-showers through frequencies who fill crystals with dream images to assist those on their path of awakening. In the heart of a giant crystal cluster on Galaxy 313’s Brightest Star, nestled the round, furry creature yawning and puffing up in a big Humbug stretch. He could feel a special day stirring deep within himself on Crystal Mountain and beyond. “Look!” he announced in a soft, compelling hum to all who could hear him. “Open your eyes and listen with your heart. Gabriel Fairchild's valor during the Battle of Trafalgar earns him the title of hero, but costs him his hope for the future. Abandoned by the fiancée he adored, the man who once walked like a prince among London's elite secludes himself in his family's mansion, cursing his way through dark days and darker nights. Prim nurse Samantha Wickersham arrives at Fairchild Park to find her new charge behaving more like a beast than a man. After their first fiery confrontation, she engages the arrogant earl in a hilarious battle of both wit and wills. Although he pronounces her a “tart, vinegary creature without an ounce of womanly softness about her”, he is secretly intrigued by her dry sense of humor, her lack of pity, and the bold way she brooks no nonsense from him. Whenever she is near, he feels the stirrings of a desire he never thought he would feel again. As Samantha begins to let the light back into Gabriel's life and his heart, they both discover that some pleasures are best explored in the dark.
